I was so nervous to place my son into school but right away, he was welcomed into caring arms. We adore teacher Sara, kami and Alyssa. They made my son feel loved and provided him a safe educational space. They made my sons transition into preschool very smooth. Sara worked well with my sons behaviors and helped him regulate his emotions. They went far and beyond to help my son become potty trained. I really like the amount of security at this school. There are multiple gates you must go through to reach the classroom door. Every door is locked for safety. We truly love the staff here. Everyone is so kind. Sarah is one of the both dangerous teachers at this facility. She is neglectful. She shouldn't be allowed around children. My child would come home daily crying and complaining about Sarah being mean. She put my child in a dangerous situation that caused my child to be rushed to the hospital multiple times. If I could could give negative stars, I would. I took my 4 year old son on a tour for pre school, and let me just say I wouldn't of let him attend here If it was free. As soon as we walked up to the class, I could hear one of the teachers yell at the kids, and she made a statement to me and my son "I don't know who this kid is, I have never seen him in my life". I immediately got a bad feeling from her from the beginning. As my son toured the class, and played with the other children, his mask was falling off, and the teacher already seemed concerned as I mentioned he might have a hard time keeping it on. The kids are freaking 4 and 5. They should not have to wear a mask while playing indoors and especially outdoors. Anyway, as we left he cried because he didn't want to leave. The entire time I was observing this one teacher literally yell at all the kids. How does any parent not notice this? I can't even imagine how she treats the kids when there isn't any parents around. I wish I would've got her name! She wore glasses, and I think the other teachers name was Vivian. I left, and told myself, absolutely not. $600 a month for my son to be yelled at behind my back, and wear a mask.. They had the audacity to call me an hour later and tell me they would not be able to take him due to his behavior..... it wasn't even an option. Parents, don't waste your money. My child has been enrolled for nearly a year now and honestly this school is so great. I was hesitant to bring my baby here since I've only had family watch my others. After doing the tour I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. It's such a relief knowing my baby is being taken care of and watching them get excited to see their teachers! My love for this daycare school started 17 years ago! As young parents back then, we needed a daycare facility for our 6 week old baby as we needed to to get back to work right away. We did a tour of the facility and right away knew he would be in great hands. Since then it's been nothing but a great experience for all 3 of my boys. My older boys are now 17 and 14 and when we found out we were having our 3rd baby we knew we had to go back to CODS. All my boys have adored all the teachers and they have always been nothing but nurturing to them. I have NEVER had not 1 bad experience with any of the teachers in the time my older boys were there, from 6 weeks old to their Penguin promotion- 4 years old, nor now with my 2 year old. I have nothing but love and admiration for this family owned daycare, their family and especially Mrs. Sara, who has treated my boys with nothing but love. My boys have learned so much in their time at this facility and I wish this daycare nothing but continued success because daycares are needed and this has been nothing but the best for my boys and their fundamental growth as babies, toddlers and kids. I brought in my daughter at 1.5 years old. I needed daycare with short notice. The Director was welcoming and very kind and took in my daughter without a waiting period. Being that this was my first child on daycare, my nerves were out of control. The staff and environment was reassuring and I felt at ease when I'd leave my child. My daughter was always playing and entertained (I could observe through the big clear sliding doors). My daughter also picked up some new words. Worst Day care ever!! This is a place that calls themselves a school yet have no scheduled curriculum of any. This place is dirty, run down, not safe in any manner. However my more bigger complaint is against Sara in the butterfly room who is now titled director of the facility. She has the ugliest attitude and does not care for the children. She is rude and inconsiderate. My child attended here and started with Sara since day one to the very end. I kept my child here out of convenience. All moms make mistakes but this is by far the worst one I made. My son was in bad hands and never safe with this woman or her "pet" assistant Alyssa. My started there in diapers- we would drop him off and he was fine but the minute we picked him up he would have a bad bad rash almost as if they never changed him at all until it was time to go home. He would have blisters. He would scream in pain. it was almost every week. I began keeping him home every time he would come back home with a rash until it healed just to see if it was truly coming from Sara's negligence. It was! I would take my son to the doctors and make reports. I would email the Owners daughter Vivian. Nothing would be done or addressed. Not even a response to my emails. I would call and leave Voicemails and nothing still. Vivian was hardly physically there on campus. We potty trained my son as fast as we could so this couldn't happen. Again I kept him here because it was within walking distance and no car made it hard to take him elsewhere. My son being partially potty trained would have accidents in his pants poop and pee and they would leave the poop in the clothing not shake it out or wipe off and send him home with poo on him and the dirty filled poop logs in his underwear and put in a bag. Several times in which they would forget to give me the dirty clothes for weeks. Then Sara would say oh here I forgot to give you these. Mold and smell coming from them I would be forced to throw them away. Mind you they have a washer and dryer there. Did they use it for my Childs clothes NO! My son not being circumsized was an even bigger issue- My son would go to the toilet and they would not wipe him or pull back skin and he is too young to know how or to do that. My sons penis ended up getting infected and a puss blister grew and eventually exploded- causing a tear in his penis. He was rushed to hospital. We told Sara that she needs to pull and clean him her response was get him circumsized as she doesn't touch the penis. Nothing in the policy states this. If they can not assist boys and girls in every special need or physicality then they should either close down or state that. However I wish that was my only complaints. It isnt... Sara used to speak so rude and disrespectfully towards me treating me as if I were an idiot or uneducated. Alyssa would roll her eyes at me or not make eye contact at all with me and would laugh at me when I had a question. She always ran to Sara to have Sara come tell me stuff. With every event I would contact Vivian and only once did she respond and that is because I caught her off guard and saw her pull in and I ran up to her. It was the day Sara called me to tell me my son hit his head and peed his pants and was bleeding. She blamed him peeing his pants for hitting his head. When I got to him he had a huge cartoon like bump on top of his head and forehead along with a split open tongue. Blood all over. When she called I specifically asked her to not let him sleep that I would be on my way to get him right away. When I got there he was asleep. i asked Sara "why would you let him sleep and put him to sleep?" Her response was he was tired and I have bigger issues to worry about than my son sleeping. I immediately started crying grabbed my son and ran up to Vivian by chance. I told her everything and she seemed to have sided with me and even explained to me that she had a personal double date dinner at Sara's house and that Sara yelled at Vivian accusing her of flirting with her man and she didn't like it. I felt that Vivian would handle the situation but instead did nothing and Sara began treating me and my son worse. My son got bit repeatedly by the same student Liam, so I asked Alyssa what happens next and she laughed at me and said I can deal with Sara and walked away from me. Sara came and told me nothing is going to happen to Liam and I need to get over my self. I asked her if I need to speak with Vivian Sara said do what you want she wont do anything. I left and as I left I got a call from Sara telling me that they are switching my son to the 5 year old room. My son just turned 3. She said its not because he is ready but because her and Alyssa spoke and they agreed they do not want to deal with me anymore and that I need to not be questioning her authority. I immediately contacted Vivian and told her what happened in email and Explained I refuse to keep allowing this and tolerating Sara and Alyssas negligence and rude demeanor. read more

The women here are awesome! I came in needing daycare ASAP for my 1 year old, Mrs. Sara and Mrs. Vivian welcomed my baby with open arms and no wait time. Being that this was my first group daycare experience with my son I was a little hesitant but the women here are so sweet and reassuring. My daughter has been enrolled here for 2 year and will be graduating from their preschool/TK program this month. After scouting 3 other preschool-daycare's in the area, I felt the most comfortable with Charter Oak Day School. All my questions were answered and I was given answers to question that I didn't think to ask. The staff is amazing. All the ladies are friendly and it is easy to see that they genuinely care for each child.
