Rating: 5/5 Stars If you're heading to Sports Basement…read moreBerkeley to gear up for the season, do yourself a favor and ask for BRANDON C. I came in needing a full "head-to-toe" setup for winter sports, and Brandon provided the kind of elite, professional service that is rare to find. His technical knowledge of snowboards, skis, and bindings is extensive; he doesn't just know the specs, he understands how the gear actually performs on the mountain. What really stood out, however, was his approach. He took the time to listen to my specific needs and concerns, making me feel both seen and heard throughout the process. I walked out (after 2.5 hours that flew by) not only with the right equipment but with the confidence I needed to get back out there. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, I'd recommend Brandon C. to anyone. He's a true professional who knows his craft inside and out. Thank you again Brandon C and SB and NIN.

My biggest issue here is no longer the exchange itself -- it is the people representing your…read morecompany at the counter. The reality is that rude, dismissive customer service drives people away. Customers can tolerate mistakes. Customers can tolerate policy issues. What people do not tolerate is being treated as though they are an inconvenience when they walk into a store prepared to spend money. I spent nearly 50 minutes looking for replacement shoes after following the instructions given by your staff. I returned to the counter and was met with an attitude that made the entire experience feel unnecessarily unpleasant. That kind of interaction leaves a much bigger impression than any return policy ever could. You should seriously consider the long-term impact of allowing employees to interact with customers in this way. One negative interaction may seem small in the moment, but over time those experiences absolutely cost business. People remember how they were treated. I can say with certainty that experiences like this make customers question where they want to spend their money in the future. If I have to choose between dealing with rude and dismissive interactions versus shopping somewhere that values customer service and basic professionalism, the decision becomes very easy. I think your management team should understand that poor customer interactions do not simply create one unhappy customer -- they create people who share those experiences with family, friends, coworkers, and others making decisions about where to shop.

I didn't even know how to pronounce the shoes when I called lol. I was on Google and was trying to find where I can buy some from that was close by... I didn't really feel like going far or a lot of other shoppers in the store, crowed.. just too much social anxiety. So I found this very cute aesthetic pleasing " nurse shoe store " I call it online. I called and spoke to Victor on the phone, he's the OWNER!!! Super cool chill guy...great vibes - I loved his vibe in fact. He told me what they had in store and what most Nurses go for but he had exactly what I needed. I came on by, he brought out sooooo many different brands for me to try on and even different styles in the different brands. He took his time with me, he was not rushed. Didn't mind helping me actually find a great shoe that worked for me, he even let me try on each and every one of them, measured them for me to make sure they were a great fit... There was me and another customer in the store and also another store associate I believe name Andrew!!! Everyone was super chill, it was definitely vibes. We all talked about shoes and the shoes we were looking into and I felt so comfortable. I really want everyone to come check out this store!!!! It's so hard to find a shoe store that FOCUS on COMFORTABILITY rather than TRENDY!!! And idk about you, but I'm getting up there in age and being comfortable means more to me than anything!!!! I want everyone to check them out!!! Parking right in front of the store. Which is also a score!!!! Oh yes, best part!!!! GREAT PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never go buy another work shoe anywhere else!!! EVERYONE RUN NOW DON'T WALK!!! CHECK THEM OUT!!!

I was looking for California Golden Bears clothes I could wear to a sports center/ gym while representing my alma mater. The two stores I went to prior to Bear Basics were more specialized in the merch but I couldn't find what I liked. When I came here I was hoping to find a t-shirt and short that appealed to me. After searching I found the items I liked. The t-shirt I bought had the insignia of the university. Also I bought a pair of blue short with a Cal logo. Both items were Champion brand. I liked the store because of the variety of Cal apparel. What made this store appealing to me while I was a student was the abundance of vintage graphic t-shirts. This was the place where I bought two Beatles album cover t-shirts: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. When I looked at the vintage shirts upstairs I noticed there were lack of selections unlike before. The quirkiness appeal of this place is gone, but Bear Basics is a nice store to purchase decent apparel.

The store is spacious and clean. Parking is a pain as it is located downtown. I love the shirt display as soon as you enter. The telephone booth is super cute to take photos. The prices are a little steep, but you really can't find a shop like this that has the bay gear and quality. I can't wait to wear my sweatshirt!
