After talking to other veterans while at my VA medical appointments I came to the decision to have my ankle surgery done via VA Care in the Community program. With the use of the program I chose Foot and Ankle Concepts in Oxnard for my ankle surgery since they are close to where I live and I have used them before via regular insurance, and I could not be happier with my decision. Dr. Sherwin Nikamal is truly exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly explain every aspect of my left ankle surgery, answered all of my questions with patience and clarity. The recovery plan he designed was excellent, and my entire surgical experience went smoothly. The entire office staff, both front and back, were extremely kind, professional, and communicative throughout the process. I especially want to give a huge thank you to Ms.Reina in the back office. She went above and beyond, working tirelessly with the VA, jumping through numerous hoops and hurdles to get my surgery approved. She kept me updated every step of the way and played a major role in getting my surgery approved and completed in a timely manner. Without her tireless efforts, I truly believe my surgery would have been significantly delayed or might still be awaiting approval. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Sherwin Nikamal, especially for other veterans utilizing VA Care in the Community. They have proven experience working with the VA and made the entire process smooth/stress-free. Had the good fortune of finding this awesome podiatrist firm today. More specifically Dr Sherwin Nikamal. After filing out the usual new patient paperwork I was taken to the exam room and then to the X-Ray room for 3 pictures of my foot. After quickly ruling out any broken bones Dr Nikamal pushed on every inch of my freakishly large foot to rule out other issues. Soon after I was getting a cortisone shot to help with the nightly nerve pain that's been keeping me awake at night. My entire visit was great and I'm just very happy to have found one of the best podiatrists in Ventura county on my first try! I went in went major foot pain. The dr diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis. My pain level was at a constant 9,after my first visit pain level is down to a 1. The staff is professional and kind. To start, this place is clean and gives a vibe as if you're home. My first time experience with this doctor and he really took care of me. I felt I was in good hands and I wasn't rushed out or seen as a dollar sign as my other doctor I was going to since March 2019. He took X-rays of my foot, even injected my foot twice to help me. Complete scam for billing and charges - My wife get a little wart removed - Procedure was fairly simple (wart scraping, Apply ointment & then band-Aid) ; included 4 sessions where Dr. Kalhor came in for 5 mins (usually after waiting for 30-40mins after appointment time) When we saw the Bill - It was OUTRAGEOUS !!! Complete SCAM / RIP-OFF. Beware - they milk the insurance then remainder Billed to paitient. the 5 mins procedures costed us $1500+ out of pocket after insurance. $300 for a band-aid named as Casting supply ; Apply couple of drops of ointment was $300+ again . Very disgusted with the customer service of this place. My mother has dementia and we had appointment at 11:10am and we were not taken into the room until 12:10 an hour wait and then had to wait another 20 for doctor Tatum . We expressed how hard it was to wait because of my mother dementia and he was so rude and didn't apologize at all and said well you can reschedule if you don't want to wait and was cutting my mothers toe nails very aggressive and upset . Brought my son to see Dr. Levick for the second time and was very pleased. The center was clean, with very comfortable chairs in the waiting area. The wait time was very minimal and once we were taken to our room, we were seen right away. Dr. Levick is very warm and friendly and great with kids. She took x-rays, figured out the problem (fractured toe) and fitted him with a boot. The entire process was over in less than an hour... and we were on our way. I was assigned to Dr. Langroudi. I saw him once and that was after a half hour in the lobby and half hour in an empty room. I had follow up appointments with Dr. Matthews which was a bit more personal, however he did forget to read my chart and forgot what procedures were recommended. Every time I had an appointment I waited for an hour or more. These guys don't respect others time enough. I also waited several months for my orthotics and I never was called when they were ready. I ended up just driving over there, sometimes to be turned away and one day they happened to be there by chance. I don't recommend this office, mostly for organizational issues, but the orthotics at not that great either. No way I go back to correct it. read more

Started experiencing Heel pain, right greater than left. Felt like a burning sensation in my heel when I would point foot up or bend down. Was referred to Dr. Andrew Langroudi, he recommended a injection into the heel and orthotics. Hesitant at first as I have heard how painful heel injections can be. All worked up for nothing. Instant relief, and truly painless. Dr. Langroudi truly is a master of his field. Staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable as well. Was authorized and fitted for Orthotics, even after being told by my PCP (who will remain nameless, only because he referred me to a great foot doctor) that my insurance did not cover them. Here's irony: my regular foot doctor is out with a broken foot! LOL! (Get well soon, Dr. Vines!!) Anyhoo, since I have occasional (self-inflicted) bouts with ingrown toenails, I found myself, once again, literally dying anytime a Kleenex or a soft warm summer breeze blew over my big toe. So upon discovering that my regular doctor was not immediately available to clean up after my recklessness, I had to scramble around to find another who would be willing to make my emergency theirs.... That's where this place comes in! Not only were they available, they were conveniently located in Ventura (where I live..so I didn't have to trek down to Oxnard...although I would have if necessary) where I was able to be seen within the hour! I believe the physician who tended to my nastiness was Dr. Hallux...although I'm not certain and may have created the name as the numbing solution began to breed euphoria...if that's not her name, I will say she's the former ballerina who practices primarily in Santa Barbara. I guess maybe she had a hunch upon awakening this morning that some nut-job in Ventura would need her services today! Me! Anyway, they take Anthem/BC PPO and they had a nice group of ladies tending to the clerical/pre-op crap. The office is clean and comfortable and when the radio station was clear, I was transported back to High School with the soothing sounds of Old School classics such as "I Wanna Be Your Man" by Roger and "Show Me" by The Cover Girls. (Of course, now that I think about it...that's a pretty cruel punishment: playing awesome dance songs while my big toe is in a convalescent state!) Thanks again! This is, by far, the WORST doctor's office I have EVER been to. To begin, my family had suggested I see a podiatrist for my tender ankle and my bunion. Prior to my visit, I called my insurance company and made sure I could visit this doctor. I also called Dr. Langrouodi's office to make sure I would only have a co-pay and not owe anything additional out of pocket. I called twice a day, three days in a row, trying to get an answer. I was promised a follow-up phone call, but never received one. Finally, I called to cancel my first appointment. The next day, Lark, the office manager, called me to apologize for the office's lack in communication. She assured me that this never happens, nor would it ever happen again. I appreciated her phone call so I gave the office a second chance. SHAME ON ME! I scheduled an appointment for my visit.The office staff added me as a patient, verified my insurance, took an x-ray for my sore ankle and casted my foot for orthodics. I thought everything was great but then, all hell broke loose AGAIN! First, I get charged $112. I was told by thier billing lady that is was the amount not covered by my insurance. I figured she knew what she was talking about so I did not question her. You know what they say when you assume! She told me I had a zero balance and that everything was taken care of. Three weeks later, to my surprise, I receive a bill in the mail from Dr. Langroudi's office saying that I owed almost $500 in addition to the $112 I already paid plus my $20 co-pay for the orthodics I ordered. I was appalled! I called and spoke to Lark (again, the office manager) and explained to her exactly what happened. She claimed that the insurance deductible was not met even though two other office staff members assured me that it had been met! Talk about an INCOMPETENT office staff! They tried billing my insurance over $1,000.00 for my orthodics which are typically no more than $300 or $400. Scammers! Then Lark had the nerve to HANG UP ON ME!!! Not once did I raise my voice while speaking to any office staff memebers. I was simply voicing my concerns about the outrageous amount of money they claimed I owed. I tried calling Lark back (thinking, maybe we lost phone service), but Stephanie, the receptionist, would not connect me to her. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. This office staff acts like a bunch of 3-year-olds who cannot handle a true customer's concern and situation. Finally, after weeks of unrest, Dr. Langroudi offered to reduce the payment. Not once did they apologize. Not once did they take responsibility for their actions or all the headache they cause me. I just wanted to put this behind me (although, I considered taking them to small claims court since I knew I had recourse). Best words to drecribe this office: rude, unprofessional, scammers, liars, theives, offensive, immature...and the list goes on. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR! IT IS NOT WORTH IT! read more

I recently saw Dr Langroudi for my foot pain. I had a really nice experience. Dr is awesome! He explained what I had and how to treat it in a friendly and easy to understand way. Everyone in the office was very friendly and professional. Dr even saw another medical problem I had and referred me to another Doctor and facility for treatment. I have suffered greatly from my foot pain and circulation problems and thanks to Dr Langroudi and his wonderful office staff I am well on the road to full recovery.
