I love the layout of the store and the prices seem to be lower than other stores... Large and roomy to navigate around. Vegis and fruits always fresh... The only concern I have is that there is No Respect from a few of the cashiers, they could take a course in kindness. read more

The store wasn't very clean, the conveyor belt at the checkout was wet and dirty. Didn't even want to put my groceries on it. There was a sign at the deli that said "Sorry deli closed today." Few checkout lines were open and lines were very long. I am just in the area for work this week. Next time I will go somewhere else. read more

This place is fantastic. Very huge. They have a big deli, great cakes and good bread. I always go to this place for fruits and vegetables. They are really fresh and cheap. They have very good selection of fresh fruit juices like Odwalla, bolthouse farms, naked and many more. They always have all kinds of Green leafy vegetables and they never disappointed me with that like Walmart. Everything you get here are of good quality and are affordable. read more

Please, there definitely needs to be more than one cash register person in the morning. I was there yesterday 7/11/2017 at 7:55 am and the line was ridiculous. The young lady (Jeanette) kept requesting help, but her request fell on deaf ears of her co-workers. Jeanette kept such a positive and upbeat attitude. To the manager, we as customers need more than poor Jeanette at the registers when it closer to 8 am, honestly. If you are looking to save money on groceries and you don't care what brands you buy or how many throngs of cretins are crawling all over you, this place is for you. There are a lot of discount brands available, and a very good selection of bakery items, as well as Hispanic foods and spices. Some things may be hard to find here, if the brand is not a discount brand. This store is about saving you money. As a result, it attracts a LOT of people, especially on weekends and other peak shopping days. Crowds of people swarm all over the aisles, and in front of the freezer cases 2 layers deep. Approaching the things you wish to browse can be a challenge. Also, you bag your own groceries here. The checkout lanes go slowly enough, and when amateurs are doing the bagging, even slower. For me personally, I like to spend as little time grocery shopping as possible, and I want to go into one store and buy everything I need in one trip. I will spend a little extra money in a store that offers consistency this way. Food 4 Less does not. I come here if I want to buy things I would normally get in bulk at Sam's Club, but without driving that far. Bottom line, come to save money if you've got a few hours to do your grocery shopping here. If you are inclined to be impatient, stay away. Likewise if you are picky about your brands, don't count on them having everything. read more

I would give a negative star if I could. My husband and I were just in there last night and we experienced the absolute worst customer service that we have ever experienced. We went in to get one carton of ice cream. The lines all had three or more people in them so we find one where people had smaller amounts of items. We stood there for about a minute or two with three people ahead of us. At one point I got out of line (my husband was still in line holding our spot) to look at a lower priced ice cream in a case to my left. It probably took 10 seconds. Right after I got back in line the cashier says to the couple in front of us that they were the last ones in line because she was closing. I said to her that we have been standing here behind them for a few minutes. She again says "you're the last person in line". At that point I ask my husband is she talking to us? He couldn't tell either. So I ask her if she is talking to us and she won't even look at us. By this point the two other people have been checked out so it's us and the couple in front of us. She checks them out. And looks at us, with our one item, and says, "I'm closed." I tell her we have been waiting in this line for a while and you did not say anything about being closed until now. She says my light was off. I did not see an off light when we got in line. And she never had a closed sign up. So I tell her that I want to see a manager multiple times. She ignores us. Closes her register and walks away. Other people in the store witnessed this and one guys told us he would talk to the manager with us People to our left let us go ahead of all them so we could check out our one item. We did not wait to try and find a manager because my husband wanted to leave a d contact someone later. I'm going to contact their corporate office on Monday. read more

The fact that no one seems to realize they can get most of these items for less at Aldi or Save-a-Lot confuses me. But then again the average shopper I encountered during my three unfortunate trips to this store didn't seem to have "savvy shopper" written across their food-stained sweatshirt. I guess trash just needs a place to feel comfy while shopping, and good lord, have they found it. One special thing this store DOES have is the single worst bakery I've ever encountered. I was very disappointed when I walked in today. Lake Co. has mandated that everyone needs to wear a mask over nose and mouth when in public. I only saw one employee at this store with the mask over their nose. And nothing was said to customers not wearing any mask. I won't go back there. read more

When this building first opened it was a Dominick's, but for some odd reason it didn't get enough business and closed its doors soon after. I still don't fully get that, I'm guessing everyone in the area is just too cheap, I don't know. Then this perfectly good brand new building sat vacant for a really long time. It was not until very recently, like two years ago I think, it reopened as Food 4 Less. I hate grocery stores, I can not express my hatred enough, but sometimes you have no choice but go and this is a pretty good place to go. After shopping at this store for the last 12 years, I've decided this would be the last time. My previous three visits to this store for staple items have resulted in a second stop at jewel or stracks to make up for poor stocking at food4less. Today they were out of celery and half and half. I started coming here because food in IL is becoming too expensive to purchase and I am also getting sick of Food 4 Less locations in Chicago looking a mess from the throngs of hoodrats who tear through the place like a tornado leaving stuff thrown on the floor and acting obnoxious. I come there either on my own or with my client because it's clean quiet and not being overrun with obnoxious hood fools. I can imagine how some people feel when they can't shop with people letting their kids run rampant and tearing up stuff. Since Chicago is getting a bit pricey on food no matter what store you go to you may want to consider this location since it's cheaper and you'll get almost the same thing since certain items won't be carried at Food 4 Less regardless of location so keep that in mind. Even more since Chicago will be imposing a tax on soft drinks and juice you might want to shop here to avoid the tax which goes into effect July 2017. Oh and take advantage of the sales they have it can save you a nice amount of money when it comes to grocery shopping. read more
