This is my favorite grocery store in the area, especially since the remodeling…read more It has a huge bakery section, where the cupcakes are massive. They have really good cakes and turnovers too. The deli case is massive, and there's a wide variety of cheeses complete with samples so that you can try them all. They sell both hot and cold food in the deli section. Their chicken tenders are good, but I'd skip the wings. The deli salads section is like a full aisle, including the basic coleslaw and potato salad, but including a bunch of dessert salads and jellos as well. I recommend the Strawberry Cloud, which is about $1 for a small container. I love their new organic/healthier aisle. They now carry my favorite brand of yogurt, Greek Gods, and almond flour, which makes it easier for me to make my beloved macarons. It's always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful and the prices are pretty standard grocery prices. The only real issues that I have here are with ice cream, and it's been this way for years. Whether I buy Popsicles or ice cream, it is always obvious that there have been temperature issues in the store. The ice cream is usually weird and icy, and the Popsicles deformed. I also love that they have a sushi bar now.

The front end manager is very rude. They do not know how to treat the employees or talk to them, I…read moreheard the pay was awful and you would think on how much they up the price on everything they would take care of the employee.

Jewels tend to get a bad wrap due to its high prices and less than stellar customer service…read moreexperiences, and while these may be true, the service experience is, in my opinion, the result of novice employees who are literally getting their start as professionals. Come on, these are kids and are not much different than who who we were at that age when we were learning the art of serving our beloved customers, and like us, they don't yet realize how beloved customers are. Tonight, I walked into the store looking for a particular item, and as I walked through the produce section looking lost, a guy wearing a mask and a Jewel Osco jacket who appeared to be an employee, ignored my meandering as he walked past me a few times, until finally I got his attention and asked for that which I was looking for. He looked at me confusingly and said, "Oh, I wouldn't know anything about that, you need to see someone in customer service..." I thought, as he walked off, "Hmmmmm, you look like you work here. Could've sworn I saw Jewel Osco on his jacket." But I digress... As I walked over to "customer service," I noticed a few young me to whom I asked the same question about the product in question. As they looked bewildered, Kristen, a polite you lady said with a smile, "it should be on isle 3, come on let's find it..." With exuberance, she walked over and when we didn't find the item, I showed her the item on my phone to which she exclaimed, "OH, I know where it is!!!" and walked me over to the product and with a smile said, "here you go sir!" Ironically, the same person who essentially told me that wasn't his job, was stocking produce in the bin right next to the refrigerated section where the product was found. Incredible? Yes! This young man doesn't realize his true work function - serve the needs of your customer, otherwise, they'll go elsewhere, your store will lose sales, labor hours will fall, and you'll eventually be looking for another job. While this is a teachable moment for him, I really wanted to use THIS opportunity to give a shout to Kristen... THANK YOU YOUNG LADY! You've a promising future in your chosen profession!

I love going to this Jewel-Osco and it's a neighborhood convenient. Lately, I assume is a staff…read moreshortage. The deli counter is horrible! The line is always long, several employees are back there walking and talking but only 2 people working. The young man at the fish counter was so unfriendly, few for words and seemed upset. I literally asked him was he ok? He mumbled "yes". There were 1 cashier and the self check out. The lines were down the isles! Come on Jewel-Osco do better for us faithful customers!
