Brought 4 JJ's bakery pies. Opened them less than 30 minutes of purchase and found congealed/ solidified/ discolored pudding inside. Went on to check my other grocery and found that the bacon I'd purchased that day was almost a week expired. Did not post the bacon because I could not find the receipt to compare the date of expired against the date of purchase. However, it was DEFINITELY EXPIRED as well. Terrible grocery store! There's always an oder inside. Twice, I've purchased Hawaiian rolls from there and the rolls were molded. And now, I just got here 20 minutes before close and they already have the doors locked! This is not how business is supposed to be ran. Pulling up to this place, I was under the impression it was as nice as my local grocery store. Very nice storefront and all. Poorly lit, and the parking area was not well maintained. Then came the part of walking into this store. It was an utter disappointment. It looked like I was walking back in time to an oooooold salvage store. Walking through a maze of weird people standing around, listening to what they consider to be music. Walking through the produce department I was absolutely astonished with some of the prices. Some were a great value while others were a crying shame. Back to the deli/meat/bakery. The cakes were below average. Nothing I would serve my family for sure. I will save you the time of a looong drawn out review because I will never return to this store ever again. First of all because I live nowhere near it, second of all because it is a complete rip off. Not to mention the "customer service" was absolutely laughable. If you want to call it that. First I asked a guy where I could find something in the meat department. He looked at me as if I had 2 heads and was speaking Klingon. I should have known anyone who sags their pants at work in a "uniform" cares nothing about their job. Anyway. Every single thing I looked for, they didn't have. But what they did have was a bunch of non healthy GMO's. Yeah. Where is Whole Foods when you need it?? If you need chitterlings, fatback, neckbones, lard, pickled cans of fat, or anything else that will kill you by the time you're 30, and bad customer service to boot, this is the store for you. The prices are more than you would pay at Strack's, Target, and Whole Foods. Did I mention they had candy for sale from Halloween? The Halloween popcorn balls! And packages of Hershey's still with the Halloween logo! But what tipped the scales for me is when I walked up to the register with my very few items. There were Cadbury eggs from last Easter at register 9. Then paying for this stuff when all I wanted to do was run out of this smelly place, this girl had the nerve to ask me for an ID when I paid with my AmEx Blue preferred card. Lol. I said for what? She calls over some guy and he says it's only for facial recognition! Lol did they have some new technology I don't know about??? I took it out with my finger over my name address and everything else. He was like, ok. Wait? You made me take it out and didn't even look at it??? Wow some security that is. Did I mention I will never ever go back??? Whew, glad I got out of there before being mugged by one of the employees! I would not recommend to my enemy!!! If you want food poisonin, this is the place to shop for you! Their meat department is absolutely disgusting. Definitely should not be called FRESH anything the meat is more rotten than fresh makes me think they have it for weeks sitting out and never replace it just retag the bag. And the store smells. Just bad. I will not be returning. I live in Merrilliville didn't want to travel far to meat market but I'll drive all the way back to Petes in Calumet City where I KNOW the food is FRESH!!! read more

This was the first and last time I'll visit this place. Coming in through the front door, theres a 400lb security guard standing partially in the doorway, while theres customers that will stand IN the doorway and aisles to check their purses or phones, the items on sale are close to expiration, the meat looks like old meat mixed with new meat, and while I was getting in line, a senior citizen tried to complain to me? I'm pretty sure wearing a black shirt, basketball shorts, and sandals isn't anywhere near the uniform.. but I'll assume she's impatient. Just the experience here isn't my type. This store is not a bad store. With anything, you purchase you have to check the expiration date. Also with meat be careful what you buy. The most common mistake in any store is rotating the stock. I shop here, have purchased items on sale and also got meat products. The customer service is not bad. Some of the clerks remember you when you visited previously and will ask how are you doing and how is your day? I shop at several stores in the NWI area. The lady that sold incense at the door now has a storefront inside the store with oils, soaps, and other accessories for sale has expanded. read more

This store is a either pure chaos or pure comedy. They place their sale signs up two days before a sale, and either honor that price or argue with you about the sign. It is over crowded, has a horrible floor layout, and the incense lady by the door is the worst. In the end, it has cheap food. read more

i bought some breakfast sausage from there and had to return it. had freezer burn. i never purchase meat from there. you never know what you're gonna get. i only stick to pop and a few other items that are on sale. store tends to be dirty . the guard is there for show, cuz he doesn't do anything else. it needs alot of tiding up. read more
