Their Auto center is a joke!!! I feel all the men working on cars either don't want to work or don't know what they are doing. Oil changes take over an hour. They tell people they can't change tires due to brakes..etc. Please get people who actually know what they are doing. Do not take your car there. Prices do not matter. I bought a bunch of bananas from Walmart in Hammond Indiana. When I got home my grandson asked for a banana. When he opened it he sai d it was hard. He could not break it. It bent back and forth just like taffy or rubber. And it will not break. This was the last straw. DO NOT ORDER CUSTOMIZED CAKE Firstly, when I got here to make my own order for my graduates cake, the women before me was dealing with the bakery not being able to find her order she placed two wks prior for a wedding cake. I should have taken that as my warning ‍ However, I proceeded to placed my order for a 2 tier graduation theme cake anyways (1st pic below). Thinking about past orders I had no problems when ordering sheet cakes from here. Also that I was placing is 5days before the party. Seems like plenty of time. It's a fairly simple cake. I asked the employee taking my order if I can replace the black to green and said yes. I ordered for one tier chocolate and the other strawberry. I had planned to put faux succulents on the cake afterwards for the graduation garden theme. The lady who took my order took the # of the cake down and my info. Told me to make a deposit or pay the cake and bring the receipt back so she can take a pic of the receipt as proof I paid for the cake already. I paid in full and brought the receipt back and another employee took a pic of the receipt. The big day comes and I sent my husband to pick up the cake. I didn't think to give him the receipt because they had taken a picture. That was not the case. In the middle of setting up for the party running around, I had to send him a picture of the receipt because they had none on file . Thank God I saved the receipt. Seem like someone may be using my receipt for a cash back app or something because no one could find it on "file"! So he gets home and we open the cake and it WAS NOT the cake we ordered (2nd picture). They gave me what looked like a kindergartner graduation cake! Sure it was cute but it was not what I ordered nor suited for my highschool graduate. There was no time to get another cake either so we stuck with it. When we got to cutting in it though it was yellow icing and pink icing inside. NOT FILLING... ICING, and still wrong. When we cut into it the cake fell apart to crumbles but still edible. CUSTOMER SERVICE - I live in Chicago, IL and made a 30 minute drive to Highland, IN to get gas to avoid the city tax charge. I like coming to Highland as there are many stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. on Indianapolis Blvd. I have been to this Walmart a few times in the past just to get a few items as I usually order my groceries online using Peapod but unfortunately, they are no longer in business in the Midwest area so I came here to grocery shop on Monday, March 9, 2020 around 11 a.m. which is an off-peak time. This is a Super Walmart so they have a huge selection of grocery items to choose from, I'll give them that. My cupboard was bare so I had alot of groceries to get. When it was time to check out, I saw that there were only about 4 lanes that were open and all the lanes had long lines. I left the line and went to customer service asking if they could open up another line. The sales associate said "this is all the people we got". Since I found this to be an unacceptable answer, I asked to speak to a manager. She pointed to self check out and told me to look for a person with a yellow smock on. I go all the way over there, no person with a yellow smock was there. I go back to customer service, let the same associate know and ask her to call a manager. I waited and waited and no manager ever came. However, when I went back to wait in line I later see two women with yellow smocks by the bathroom area just hanging, talking with one another instead of managing the store. By the time I got to the front of the line 25 long minutes later, a young man cashier was friendly and started ringing up my groceries. An elderly lady behind me was just as frustrated as me because she only had a few items and had to wait a long time as well to be checked out. When the cashier got to the end of my groceries he told me he had to get a manager to ring up my alcohol because he was underage. I knew then that this was going to be a problem. He called for a manager, no one ever came. He had to leave his station to go and find someone and was gone for a little while. The woman behind me told me how ridiculous this was and I agreed. The woman in line behind her expressed that she used to work at this Walmart but left due to the mistreatment that she received. That told me alot. Finally, a manager named ALLISA (sp?) came over. She asked me "how are you doing?" and I told her "I've been better. These lines are way too long, we've been standing in these lines for a long time. I called for a manager and no one ever came. She told me "there is nothing that can be done if employees call off. I stated that "there is something you can do, you can hire more people". I didn't get that full statement out before she totally turned around and had her back to me while I was speaking which is totally disrespectful. She started talking to the cashier. I said to her "I'm speaking to you and turn your back at me and you're a manager, that is rude!". She was like "I hear you" and kept her back turned. I asked for her name and she nonchalantly told me. She didn't seem to care about my issue, finally turned back around, wished me a good day and walked off. I have attached my receipt which shows I spent $285 at this grocery store. That's alot of money to be given many levels of disrespect and horrible customer service. This needs to be addressed. Word of mouth goes a long way and my words concerning this establishment currently are not positive. I also noticed on my receipt that there has not been a store manager hired for this store as it says: TBD which stands for "to be determined" I hope Corporate gets this review and can address this. Good paying customers deserve to be treated as such, much less just a regular human being. Side Note: Pharmacy experience at this store is stellar. Staff was helpful and friendly on the phone and in person when I had an important prescription to fill that most stores didn't have after coming from the emergency room at the hospital. Pick up service is the worst. Good luck. Employees are not friendly. Try calling number listed pick up area - no answer. Try talking to supervisor you're on hold for 15 min. Or there Isn't one available. How is that ok? Placed an order and after an hour of window time I cancelled it. Will not go back. They really need it together. I went to the pharmacy to purchase medicine from behind the counter. In the middle of my transaction, a pharmacist or pharmacy tech (he had on a blue uniform jacket) came over and told the pharmacy technician who had began the process of ringing up my medicine that he needed the register for a customer in the drive-thru. He then proceeded to begin ringing up his customer even though I was standing there. No one ever said anything to me. It was as though I wasn't as important as the other customer. A couple months ago I went to Walmart with my two friends. We all ended up using the same checkout because there was only about 7 open for the 50 people in line. My friends checked out and got their receipts. I checked out and the machine was out of receipt paper so I retried the print then walked away without a receipt. We were all stopped at the exit and I was asked for a receipt I explained there was no paper and they would not let me leave the building without it. I then was told to "go ask that man" The man told me he did not know how to do that but I can ask these two managers that were standing behind us. They were both in a conversation that was clearly not work related (which is fine but they brushed me off on someone else to finish this said convo) Manager 1 said "we can't even reprint receipts" Manager 2 said "Hey you" to a passing employee and demand the women to go check my receipt at customer service and then walk me to the door to clear me. The employee was very helpful and was the only person who seemed to know what they were doing. I was then "allowed" out of the store. I was in a very bad mood as is on this day (so they are lucky I stuck around) and then went on a wild goose chase with managers that didn't know how to take care of a customer. Thank The Creator I'm not driving as I type this! This might just be one the worst Walmart's for customer service in Indiana/Chicago area! In my haste , I left some groceries and had go back to get them, ( mind you the cashier put one item in one bag which threw me off, but she was not to blame, she actually the hero of this story) I called first the phone rang and rang... no one answered. I walked towards the cashier where I purchased the items and told the new cashier about leaving the groceries ( which I thought was only one item but turned out to be several) and was greeted with the most unprofessional, unpleasant, vile, attitude! Our hero comes back off of break and tells me and her I indeed left something and more, the cashier (who happens to be the Manager.....The Manager!!) never apologize or even looked me eye to eye, " Just go get your stuff" was her reply. I know working with the public is challenging but treating people like you're hustling ,your a thief,and not valued customer is bad , and really sick if the person looks like you! Each time I come to this Wal-Mart, there are not enough cashiers. Well this particular day, there were 4 cashiers. Each line, the cashier had customers with full carts. It had been 20 minutes in line. This was my second line. The cashier was frustrated because her line was growing, and the lady had 2 carts full of items. I asked her if she could get more cashiers. She went and found Anastasia, the front store lead. I asked her if she had more cashiers, and she said that's all she had. I told her that we should not be forced to go to self check out. Now Anastasia opened up lane #33 and she took customers herself. I truly appreciate the A1 service that she and the cashier displayed. They both went above and beyond. WalMart you need more cashiers. Walmart has some of the best prices but getting great service is biggest issue. This location had me so upset that I sent complaints to every agency that governs the way they do business. I had brief encounter with a employee named Faith who was one of the worst I've ever dealt with. This employee came and canceled my transaction, took my coupons and walked away. After a few minutes she came back with my property with no explanation as to why she took my property and canceled the transaction. The gentleman needed a override due to him having to manually put in my coupon because they wouldn't scan. I thought she was rude to her fellow employee as well as me and my wife. Because she never spoke to us we had no choice but to speculate about her actions. I believe she though we were scamming the store. The coupons were for malt o meal. She never greeted us nor did she speak one word to us. She's a team leader but that day I saw no leadership from her. It gets better. I filed a complaint about our treatment and apparently it made it into the hands of management an they spoke to her about it. I received a email saying that Walmart responded to my complaint. I logged in and to my surprise the author called my wife and I dumb. They went on to correct my math on on the coupons. Management allowed her to represent their store by calling us dumb. I contacted the website who posted the review and was told that only the employees at Walmart had access to my complaint. They don't post complaints in a public forum so whoever wrote the response did so as a employee. Since no communication was had I have to assume that Walmart knew an supported the author. To write a complaint and get a reply from Walmart that my wife and I are stupid reflex all the negative reviews. I've posted this issue on Google, Facebook, instagram and BBB website. Totally unprofessional employees and by the look of things maybe she was taught be a manager that encourages this behavior. To give a employee access to a complaint and allow her to reply calling us dumb is horrible. Please share my experience as two days have gone by with no response from Walmart. So if Walmart reads this, I want to know why did your employee take our property and walk away with it? Why did she cancel my transaction? Honestly I don't need a reply because what I posted is true and I hope Jay they are shamed into doing the right thing. The location is nice, near the expressway. The lines can be oh so long. I do avoid shopping here when possible due to the inconvenience of long waits in line. You would think a 230 billion dollar company can keep shorter lines and more help. The food section does have a nice selection and variety. read more

Here is an example of the service there. I ask an employee where the fans are. She is walking with another employee talking. She says "baby, we sold out of fans". Ok, well where would they be if you did have them? Points. Go down there, find 50 or so fans. No one there wants to work. The lines are always long, the self checkout always is credit only (and there is usually one line with a human working) and the place is just filthy. I only went in today cause I knew they had the fan I wanted in stock. Walmart needs to give their employees some serious training starting with an attitude adjustment. read more

I come here to shop and will get some good deals on some items but not by much since it's right there on the IN/IL state line. It's not as congested as other Wal Marts in Chicago but for the most part I have been able to find a lot of things that I couldnt find elsewhere.
