Front of my store receipt. Notice that there is no store manager listed which may be a good part of the problem.
    Darlene N.

CUSTOMER SERVICE - I live in Chicago, IL and made a 30 minute drive to Highland, IN to get gas to avoid the city tax charge. I like coming to Highland as there are many stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. on Indianapolis Blvd. I have been to this Walmart a few times in the past just to get a few items as I usually order my groceries online using Peapod but unfortunately, they are no longer in business in the Midwest area so I came here to grocery shop on Monday, March 9, 2020 around 11 a.m. which is an off-peak time. This is a Super Walmart so they have a huge selection of grocery items to choose from, I'll give them that. My cupboard was bare so I had alot of groceries to get. When it was time to check out, I saw that there were only about 4 lanes that were open and all the lanes had long lines. I left the line and went to customer service asking if they could open up another line. The sales associate said "this is all the people we got". Since I found this to be an unacceptable answer, I asked to speak to a manager. She pointed to self check out and told me to look for a person with a yellow smock on. I go all the way over there, no person with a yellow smock was there. I go back to customer service, let the same associate know and ask her to call a manager. I waited and waited and no manager ever came. However, when I went back to wait in line I later see two women with yellow smocks by the bathroom area just hanging, talking with one another instead of managing the store. By the time I got to the front of the line 25 long minutes later, a young man cashier was friendly and started ringing up my groceries. An elderly lady behind me was just as frustrated as me because she only had a few items and had to wait a long time as well to be checked out. When the cashier got to the end of my groceries he told me he had to get a manager to ring up my alcohol because he was underage. I knew then that this was going to be a problem. He called for a manager, no one ever came. He had to leave his station to go and find someone and was gone for a little while. The woman behind me told me how ridiculous this was and I agreed. The woman in line behind her expressed that she used to work at this Walmart but left due to the mistreatment that she received. That told me alot. Finally, a manager named ALLISA (sp?) came over. She asked me "how are you doing?" and I told her "I've been better. These lines are way too long, we've been standing in these lines for a long time. I called for a manager and no one ever came. She told me "there is nothing that can be done if employees call off. I stated that "there is something you can do, you can hire more people". I didn't get that full statement out before she totally turned around and had her back to me while I was speaking which is totally disrespectful. She started talking to the cashier. I said to her "I'm speaking to you and turn your back at me and you're a manager, that is rude!". She was like "I hear you" and kept her back turned. I asked for her name and she nonchalantly told me. She didn't seem to care about my issue, finally turned back around, wished me a good day and walked off. I have attached my receipt which shows I spent $285 at this grocery store. That's alot of money to be given many levels of disrespect and horrible customer service. This needs to be addressed. Word of mouth goes a long way and my words concerning this establishment currently are not positive. I also noticed on my receipt that there has not been a store manager hired for this store as it says: TBD which stands for "to be determined" I hope Corporate gets this review and can address this. Good paying customers deserve to be treated as such, much less just a regular human being. Side Note: Pharmacy experience at this store is stellar. Staff was helpful and friendly on the phone and in person when I had an important prescription to fill that most stores didn't have after coming from the emergency room at the hospital. I picked up the prescription on 12/4/2019.

I'm going to assume it's because of the lack of workers in the store to keep it up. My husband and I were in there a little after dinner time and he was bummed to see that the dressing rooms were not available. He was wearing long Johns under his jeans so tried on the slacks he was interested in right there and then. I looked at a few tops. I can wear a 1xl or a 2xl depending on style. Just a note to the ladies they do not have much in the way of plus sizes, not even when it comes to their jackets. I personally wouldn't come out of my way to come here to shop for myself. The person at check out was polite but was all alone. I felt bad and nervous about how it felt that only she was working there. I miss the old days of Burlington Coat Factory when it was out in Merrillville with a much more interesting selection of items but I understand times have changed.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this antique mall in the past. My first time here was…read morearound new years 1 year ago, and I've been back a couple times since- most recently NY day. Yep- that's right, they are open NY day! First of all, this place is huge! You might think you've seen it all, but then go to the far right, past the Eatery, and you will find a whole other wing to check out. I've spent hours upon hours looking at each vendors "booth" and the cabinet cases to the far left front of the store. I've purchase things from jewelry, to gilded mirrors, gold antique letter stands, wall shelving unit, and an animal skull. But I've also purchased fudge, fried pickle mix, and bourbon carmel sauce. This place has everything you need. One thing I must point out, is some of the booths have modern items, things you can buy from Amazon. So, not everything is antique or even used/second hand. But I think overall, there is a good mix. I go for the antiques primarily, but I have found myself looking at some of the modern stuff that has antique style. I love when I walk in around holidays and see booths with sale signs. I try to go straight for those, because that's when I find I get the best deal. And almost always when things are on sale, you get the best value for your money. That's not to say that I don't buy things when they aren't on sale, I will. I just get excited when I'm bleach to spend less. But be wary, one time there was a sale sign with the correct dates but when I brought the item to the front, they admitted they must have printed the wrong sign because there was no sale listed for that booth in their computer. I always double check now before buying things. Another thing to note, if you find an item and it doesn't have a sale price on it, take note of what the booth number is and where in the booth you found it, then bring it to the front. They can contact the booth vendor for you to ask what the price is. Logistics: - there is always parking- the lot is big - there are not always carts to shop (they have run out more times than not) - the people working are very nice and helpful - if you get hungry while shopping, they have eatery32 inside on the right. Great place! Make sure you have a lot of time if you want to explore everything. Or make several trips :) The people

RACIST EXPERIENCE - Dior at Macy's Downtown Chicago…read more December 23, 2025 | around 6:00 PM This was one of the most racist and humiliating retail experiences I have ever had. On December 23, 2025 around 6 PM, I visited the Dior counter at Macy's downtown Chicago. I traveled from Virginia specifically to shop at this location and went alone to buy a Christmas gift for my sister. I politely asked for recommendations about Dior liquid foundation, highlighter, and gift sets. The older sales associate treated me with clear disrespect from the start. She avoided eye contact, made me wait about five minutes just to answer a simple question, and refused to clearly explain products or prices. Her attitude made it obvious that she did not want to help me. Because of this, I decided to leave and go to Chanel. What happened next crossed the line completely. The same sales associate followed me and said there was someone named Karina in the back corner who "speaks Asian language." This comment was openly racist. She never asked if I needed language assistance, never asked where I am from, and instead assumed I could not speak English based solely on my Asian appearance. I am a college student, and I speak English fluently. There is no such thing as "Asian language." Asia is a continent with many cultures and languages. Reducing all Asians to one language is ignorant, offensive, and racist. This was not a misunderstanding. This was racial profiling. I felt judged, insulted, and humiliated in a public space. No customer--especially in a so-called luxury brand like Dior--should ever be treated this way. The fact that someone with this mindset is working in customer service is unacceptable. Dior and Macy's should be ashamed to allow this behavior. This employee clearly lacks basic cultural awareness, professionalism, and respect. Immediate disciplinary action and mandatory diversity training are necessary. I will never return to this Dior counter, and I strongly warn others--especially people of color--to be cautious. Racism should never be tolerated, especially in 2025.
