A good friend stopped by on her way between business meetings to check out the Pokemon card drop. She was approached after just five minutes and asked to leave because she was "loitering" and it was "messing with their numbers". About to leave, another customer said that this store notoriously does this - they kick customers out right before the drops so that they can buy the products themselves (if they want to buy them themselves, perhaps they can just talk to the vendor to sell to them privately instead of harassing customers). During the minute that this other customer was talking to her, a man came and reiterated that she needed to leave or he would call the police for LOITERING - less than ten minutes! The man told her that California has a ten minute law on loitering (which is an outright lie). What kind of employee threatens to have a customer ARRESTED, by way of false police report, for waiting a few minutes to purchase items from a machine that the business brought in, in order to drive foot traffic into the store?! Make it make sense! The employee (I'm assuming a manager) also said he could ask her to leave and permanently ban her from the store. Again, wtf. All this because the employee wants to buy some damn Pokemon cards? Making a false police report is an actual misdemeanor crime. In California, loitering laws generally are enforceable when ill intent is at play - waiting for cards is NOT ill intent. Wasting valuable police and public resources on frivolous calls is also extremely unethical. The fact that this behavior is known by other members in the community shows that this is an ongoing issue. Grocery customers spend thousands of dollars per year at their local grocery stores - families can spend tens of thousands per year. I will NEVER shop at a Food 4 Less again, and I will tell my friends and family to do the same. It's absolutely absurd to threaten anyone with a permanent ban and/or a false police report for "loitering" in your store for a machine you presumably WANT to drive traffic with. Just awful behavior. Just over the weekend I was at a different retail store myself and the employees kindly let me wait fifteen minutes in their lobby for my Uber to pick me up since it was very cold outside. THAT is excellent service, and I'll be giving them a great review for their kindness! Food 4 Less can learn a thing or two from them. read more

Even fish choices is limited to salmon, swai and tilapia. I was hoping something like cod etc. Overall you get great deals here! Horrible treatment of Pokemon fans. Manager came out and said we were loitering when trying to buy Pokemon cards from machine. Manager sent her employee to scare us off but would love to talk to corporate about this terrible treatment of customers. I buy from this store a lot. But after the level of rudeness and intimidation tactics just so employees can purchase Pokemon cards for them selves is horrible. I had one of the most humiliating and upsetting experiences at this Food 4 Less location (Baldwin Park - 3000 Baldwin Park Blvd) on 10/19/25 around 9:20 a.m. My significant other and I had just finished shopping. I was using an electric cart due to hip and back pain. After paying for all our groceries at checkout lane 1, the cashier named Angel even told us it was okay to exit through the bar instead of walking around. As we were loading our groceries into the car, the store manager (Ana) came running outside, pointing at us, acting as if we were stealing, and had a cart attendant take photos of us, our vehicle, and our license plate -- even though we had paid. When I went back inside, Angel confirmed that we did pay, and the manager just said, "Well, I didn't see you pay." I was completely embarrassed, disrespected, and honestly feel we were racially profiled because we're African American and wearing hoodies. I've shopped at this store many times and never experienced anything like this. I left feeling hurt, angry, and ashamed for no reason at all. I do like shopping at Food 4 less they have reasonable prices on some things...not ground beef today but I'm sure no fault of theirs! Our Country is truly in a crisis and we are paying high prices for everything! Ok I got off on a tangent lol. Back to the review! Like I was saying I do like the store I just don't like that they have the lines (4 lines) opened for 15 or less items and only 1 line for those of us that have more than 15 items. So I guess 3 is not a crowd at food for less... All in I I will probably visit again. This Food 4 Less location is close to my gym so I end up going here a lot more often now. The produce seems to be fresher at this location, however there are some items that this location doesn't have that the other Food 4 Less that I frequent does. I guess if you're not looking for something specific or just need to do some general grocery shopping, then this location is fine. I have a few specific things that I need that they don't have here, and I end up having to go to another grocery store in order to get those items. The lines can sometimes be super long especially on weekends and special occasions but you just have to catch it on a non-peak hour. They also have a couple express lanes if you have 15 items or less that move a lot faster than the other lines. Food 4 Less has the better quality items for a more reasonable price so that is why I choose to go here over some others in the area. I go here out of convenience, and the prices are reasonable here. read more

Across the street from smart and finals I felt like the food here was so much cheaper than other stores. When I came it was clean and was able to find everything I needed. I moved to West Covina from Downtown Los Angeles and I was lucky to have this grocery store near my home! It only takes me 7 mins to get to it by car! The place is very unorganized... I was unable to find any small bags for produce... alot of the items seem to have expired or went bad by heat... the flan was definitely bad. When I was cashing out the person at the register asked me how many bags I needed. I was confused because I have never been asked before the items are placed in bags.. they seemed upset when I explain I did not know. Definitely had an attitude. They had blue hair. At the end I felt pressed and said 12 bags.. better to be over than under.. they then said " are you sure " with such an attitude. I don't know if I will go back.. I think driving a bit further is best for me. I hope management steps up! read more

An OK market, above average in stocked shelves, fairly clean. Guys and gals in the meat dept are friendly and helpful. Cashiers are pleasant and talkative. This place usually has what I come to get, or need. Only thing that keeps me from giving more stars, is the horrible condition the shopping carts are in. They look old and worn, they pull to one side or the other, their dirty, some have rust, and they makes noise while your pushing it. They definitely need to up grade the carts And Managers could keep a closer watch on the lines, sometimes slow in opening more checkers when lines starts getting long. Other than that, I will still come here to shop, just wish they could make these few improvements. read more

I bought a lot of groceries. I parked my car on side of store where they had parking. Parking was hard to find. When I completed my shopping and went outside with my cart it would go past front of store. I had to haul all my groceries to car. I had to leave my cart with groceries to go back and fourth to put them in my truck. I was glad no one took my cart and thought it was abandoned. That was pretty awful. read more

bought a gift card and the lady was nervous because a lot of people where in line and I knew she messed up on my gift card and asked if it dosent work and something goes wrong do I have to come back and she was like no everything's good to go and I knew it wasn't. My girlfriend and I tried to make an exchange from a purchase literally the day before, but the "front store lead" (not a manager) refused our request. He first dismissed my girlfriend quickly when I wasn't around, but I then I tried to make the exchange. He didn't even come out of the back yet for a couple of minutes. I asked him to make the exchange keep in mind I had more stuff in my hand to purchase) that there's nothing about a "same day" exchange only online or even printed on the receipt. When I asked for his manager's contact information or a customer service number to contact, he refused my request, then laugh and ignored me before going over to where a cashier was. I've never felt more disrespected and wanted to punch him in the face. Luckily I left before my PTSD took over. So thank you Kroger(the parent company for Food 4 Less) for disrespecting two military veterans! I'll be sure to let as many people/veteran organizations in the area know how badly I was disrespected by the man pictured. I used to love coming here for quick groceries, but I'm done. With a Target next door, a Smart & Final across the street, and a Walmart down the street. I will not be back shopping at this Food 4 Less location until this store employee(pictured) is dealt with and an apology given. Parking can be an issue but that have nothing to do with my rating. Generally this place is always nice and clean, staff are friendly, and with good selection of fresh produce, meat and dairy products. Rush hours can be a challenge with long lines and not enough cashier. I know they are doing their best but some customers are way too impatient and are very vocal about the services...unfortunately most of them I don't think have ever worked in a fast pace, multi-task environment. They should think of shopping when it's not prime rush time...like early in the morning, before 3 or after 8pm...just a thought. As for me, I'm happy with my services, selections and prices at this BP location. read more

I come here from time to time after work because it is down the street from my work and I can pick up something quick on the way home for dinner. It's a typical Food 4 Less store. The area is not the best... and lots of people throw carts ALL over the parking lot, so watch where you park. I usually just go in/out as fast as I can. Food for less tends to have some good deals from time to time. They actually still let you use the plastic bags here... without charging you!! There's always a security guard person at the door, but the cashiers never seem friendly. They always seem like they are preoccupied or just plain unfriendly... but then, after a long day of work, I'm not all that friendly either... so I don't really care. I just get what I need, pay and leave. Despite the lackluster parking lot and shopping carts, the inside of the store is surprising clean. They have a decent selection of things, produce, fruits, fresh meats, dairy. They do have a large selection of Mexican food items because of the area. Sometimes it can get crowded, but for the most part, the lines move pretty fast. I'll be back since it's convenient for me to go here after work. This is the only big "chain" market in Baldwin Park - Theres a bunch of no name places though. This place is a bit of a mess, stuff misplaced, theres no rhyme or reason on how they arrange the products in the aisles. The carts are in very bad shape. Whenever I came here, they only have 2 checkers open with like 6-7 people in line each. They need to hire more people. The stuff advertised in the weekly ads are ALWAYS sold out. Just left food 4 less and the cashier that helped us has no customer service what so ever. They have a sale going on when you purchase a turkey u have to spend only 5 bucks so the turkey price goes down so we did by when the cashier rang it up it didn't. Instead of helping us to see what she could do or change it she was like I don't know why is not changing. Ok well if you don't why not get a supervisor or manager to help instead of wasting my time. Food 4 Less is one of several markets in the area where my family goes grocery shopping. This is a no frills/not-so fancy supermarket which sells the basic groceries, meats, seafood, deli, bakery, and fresh produce, at good prices. No membership cards required here to take advantage of sale prices. Very often, there are great deals which we take advantage of such as Coke or Pepsi on sale, frozen foods, prepared dinners, canned goods, fresh strawberries, mangos, and more. Food 4 Less has an ongoing 10 for $10 mix n' match sale on several items including Pasta Roni, Banquet frozen dinners, Celeste pizza, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, and Vitaminwater, a similar sale to what Vons had a few weeks ago. Food 4 Less carries the Kroger and Private Selection brands of products here. I like the Kroger yogurts, which we keep in the fridge for breakfast or snacktime. We shop here at night when it's not that busy, but this is not quite a 24 hour store, which closes at 2AM and reopens at 6AM. read more

This was the most embarrassing and terrifying trip to the Market when i deciced to go to food4less market..The manager was falsely accusing me of stealing from the store. Then had the nerve to just snatch my purse from my hands and dumped everything from My purse on the floor right there on isle 13 in front of everyone. When he saw I had nothing from their store in my possession or purse he proceeded to grab at my things on the floor that i had previousely purchased from another store earlier.. Stealing my Tylenol I purchased at Target and acting as if he was calling the cops when in fact he never called them.. so as I threatened to call the police on him he then gave back my items since I had the receipt for them from Target.. He obviously knew he was in the wrong.. ! And to top it all off he was the store manager Alex .. he should be ashamed of his actions for herassing me and being guilty of Defimation of Charactor for publicly accusing me with others watching near by. . I don't want anyone to ever go though this embarrassment when they did nothing wrong...! A young man, who was wearing converse and finished with his shift, helped us for ten minutes at almost 10 pm find canned pumpkin for our dog who needs it to eat his medicine. This young man went above and beyond to help us while shopping for his own groceries after work. This was not an emergency, but we were about to give up looking and this young man made our night so much easier. Thank you for your help! Not a bad place to shop lots of food 4 less haha. I've been here a few times, I haven't had any bad experiences.

I like shopping at this Food 4 Less. It is in a good location with ample parking. But beware that it is often busy and since it's by a major highway there is constant traffic. Non the less, I like variety of brands they carry and the prices. I eat organic so it's nice that they have a nice variety of organic selections, although I wish they had more organic fresh produce. Most of the cashiers are friendly and polite. The store is always neat and usually fully stocked. Everyone seems to work hard too. Lines will sometimes be long, so if you're in a rush, it's best to go early in the morning or late at night during the week. Sunday nights are their busiest FYI. read more

Stopped here on my way home from work to buy ingredients for Mac n Cheese on Monday evening. I began to prepare it for thanksgiving tomorrow. Ana the manager for Sat 8/29 at around 12 pm was awful. She lacks the ability to provide customer service. Completely oblivious of her actions. I was patient while she took role call (mind you there were only 2 check stands open-she finally decided to jump in and help). She was tending to her checklist... Asking the other 2 girls on registers whether so and so came in. "Any call outs?". Unprofessional. She took her time getting more bags until she finally started to scan my $100 bill of items. I have the app and had coupons. She was not aware there's such a thing and quickly got frustrated. Told me it wasn't working and I must have the wrong stuff for the discounts. She threw the 4 bags I purchased at me with no regard and then laughed & said she accidentally charged me for 14! "Oops". Rude. Unhelpful. No name tag.
