This store is huge just like their other locations; it's well lit, clean and very organized. I came to get a bag of apples and renew my vehicle registration sticker tag at the DMV Kiosk. Service was spot on. Cashier was cordial. Kiosk was functional and no lines. Overall, it's a nice supermarket and glad they have a DMV Kiosk here. I recommend you visit. read more

This place has better produce at better prices than Walmart. I'd also say that 99% of the employees here are also really nice and friendly! I really appreciate the effort this location makes in keeping things as clean and fresh as they can. It's clear that management are doing their part in contributing to a positive customer experience. I tend to only buy fruits and vegetables from superior so I can't really speak to their other departments. Oh! They also have an app that you can scan to collect points from your purchase! It's not the best reward point value but something is definitely better than nothing! Also, for as long as I have been frequenting this establishment, I was pleasantly surprised recently at how good their tamales are! They're not dry and very flavorful! Def worth a try if you like tamales. Lastly, I want to give Rudy a shout out here! This review is only for their Chicharrones. I have to say these things are fire. I'm not gonna take any pictures of it because if you want to know about these things, you have to read it not see it. My little way of still gatekeeping them and giving them the props. They deserve. It's a typical Mexican grocery store. You can find almost anything you need that has to deal with Mexican cuisine as well as candies. I know a lot of people knock on the store because they have a few registers open, but I will say that they do keep their prices, reasonable, and one of the ways they are able to do that is to cut back on labor cost. I love it here, especially for the freshly made tamales. I don't know if you noticed, but the prices for tamales everywhere have gotten pretty high. I believe they are about $2.50 each. They are never dry and have a variety ranging from sweet corn, shredded beef, pork, chicken, cheese and jalapeño, and pineapple mixed with a fruit. On the go, this easily makes a quick lunch or dinner. There is plenty of parking, and if you need to grab anything else as far as groceries are concerned... they have a wide variety of great tasting stuff. They always have plenty of cashiers on hand, so you are not waiting in line. There is a seating area outside in case you want to eat there. This location has a really big parking with other establishments, a few covid casualties closed businesses. The employees really make no eye contact if you need help finding something. The prices are pretty good if you pay attention to the sales maked by the red ticket priced as marked. I like their rotisserie chicken in the ready made food section as well as the tamales. The pan dulce section has a good variety but I wish they included empanadas. I took a star away for the rushed check out. You have to bag your own groceries. Unless you're a Ninja at bagging quickly, you feel the pressure trying to complete your shopping before the cashier is pushing your groceries to make room for the next customer. I have too much stress in my life already without Julio making me feel like an inept bagger. read more

Came in today the cashier who helped me was extremely rude. Told me I had to bag my groceries myself when I started talking in English. She said she doesn't speak English so I started talking to her in Spanish and she gave me the worst attitude telling me it's not part of her job. I told her she was extremely lazy. I called After to talk to a manager when I asked if they speak English or Spanish, they hung up on me continue to call four more times nobody answered until another lady that was English speaking answered, and she proceeded to hang up on me. I love this Superior Market location. I used to shop here alot back in the days when i lived in Baldwin Park. Store has lots of parking. I was recently here visitng someone, and i went to the deli and i bought some chicken and some other good foods. Everything is fresh and good. On Friday morning, 09/09/22, at 8:30 am, I went to Superior to buy two rotisserie chickens for dinner. The deli had not put the chickens out yet, but I looked over the counter and saw that they were done. The oven door was even open, so I decided to do my marketing and come back. I went back at 9:00 am and the chickens were still not out in the display case. I asked the man behind the counter if he could pack up two chickens for he. He seemed annoyed and took forever to do so. When I got home and unpacked them, I found that he had given me two burnt dried up chickens. To make it worse the packaging said, "24 ounces" and the actual weight was 9 ounces for one and 12 ounces for the other. I don't particularly like this store, nor do I prefer to shop here. I actually objected the idea of another supermarket which is identical to every single supermarket, within a 5 mile radius. But......it came, the feeling passed and what could I do but drive by when I go to the bank? I eventually strolled in and nothing extraordinary caught my eye. I found it to be the same as all of the other stores around. Until..... I spotted them, I got closer, I stared in amazement and awe. There they were, sitting in the little mini fridge near the register. All plump and deliciously inviting. Black Mambas, Killer Tapan flavor and Death Adder. Venom energy drinks in chubby little 8oz cans, for .50 cents a pop! I am in love, I thought...I have never seen these little gems. Sure, I have seen the larger cans but these little babies were perfect for a pick me up! So I sort of caved in, I come in every few weeks to basically clean out their inventory. I think someone else is in on the deal too because sometimes I go in and they're all gone! Service is good......store is clean. As long as they have the Venom, I'll keep coming back like a dope fiend for her fix. read more

Went to the counter and ordered it in English the guy asks the lady in Spanish and she's like yeah we don't have that anymore when I asked her in Spanish she was like oh ok what kind do u want?? I really like they produce area. I bought 6 mangoes for $1.50 and 6 nectarines for $2.00. You can definitely get a lot of fruits and vegetables for cheap. As I was waiting in line, I saw a sign that said they strive to carry the cheapest prices in town, which is very cool. I would definitely go back here! Only downfall is that they do not all speak English. . . Looks like I need to learn more Spanish. :-) read more

Location: Convenient on a busy street. There is always a good amount of parking. Cleanliness: Good enough. Customer service: Good but I have not had many encounters with them. Food selection: Okay for a mostly Hispanic supermarket. PRODUCE: Terrible. Prices are good but the produce is often spoiled or about to spoil. Meats: The "imitation crab" has been smelly a couple of times. My personal experience: I have had a terrible encounter with the window where I pay my bills. I was ripped off, given the wrong change, etc. this particular time I actually tried speaking with the store manager and I was told by the other employees that "he did not want to come". Here is a sampler: $0.25/lb for Fuji apples, $0.33/lb for bananas, $0.69/lb for red grapes, $0.89/lb for Valencia oranges, and $3.89 for 2 lb bag of San Miguel kale. There are also weekly discounts advertised on their website that lowers prices to rock bottom steals. That is some GMO Monsanto produce magic. I come here when convenient, in moments of weakness, and desperately fighting withdrawals from prolonged absence from my daily Vitamix routine. However, I am not suicidal, so included in these batches of Vitamix blends is an over indulgence of homemade Probiotics. This place is pretty straight up terrible. Produce section is pretty dirty and messy. Have been coming here a quite a few times since moving in around the area but decided to write this review today because of the cashier that rang me up today. The cashier, Arlene V., just finished a transaction with a customer and she made eye contact with me as I started to walk up to her register/counter. However she did not make eye contact, greet me, or speak a single word from start to finish during our whole transaction. Once I placed my items down on the counter, she pulled out a nail clipper from a pouch set and started clipping her nails right in front of me. Like wtf!!? She continued to look her nails and clip them for a whole minute straight. No wonder why she didn't have a line and the other lines have more than 5 people waiting.. read more

Superior is finally close enough for me to visit everyday! Even with its grand opening I have yet to wait in line for more than 5 mins to checkout. They're always well-staffed throughout the store and everyone is so nice. One thing too look out for: make sure the ladies in the deli are paying attention. I've already had two incidents where these employees mess up my order after repeating it to them. On the otherhand, their weekly ad never disappoints because there is always something on sale. You'll find that produce goes on sale on Wednesdays and weekends are for various meat sales. Sales vary throughout the month so always keep an eye out for the ad. Practically everything in their bakery is a must try! The cakes can get pricey but they're definitely worth it. They also have various hot foods like potato wedges and rotisserie chicken. The parking isn't all that bad but sometimes you get people advertising their local business, which can get really annoying when you're in a hurry. read more

0 stars for the wicked witch Ana at the meat department!!! There's always been problems every time I come to this department and she's there serving with a nasty attitude with no customer service! First few times Ana did not know the difference between pounds and pieces. She talks back to me in Spanish every time like she has no clue what I'm asking for and gives me wrong order. I thought she didn't speak English at all, but yesterday, she suddenly spoke English and yelled at me and said "speak up!". She looked like she was ready to fight! I've called in a manager on her before while I was at the store coz of her nasty attitude but obviously she's still acting the same. Who does that to a customer?! This lady should get fired!!!! Upper management needs to step up and do something about this issue coz I wouldn't wanna see her nasty face there again! Highly upset... 1st a little background, I LOVE superiors fried chicken, best I've tasted. I recommended the chicken to my sister back in July for her daughters party. Big mistake, when she went to pick it up, they said they were "almost" done making it.. Long story short, turns out someone didn't clean the oil so the chicken tasted like burnt crap, the manager offered her rotisserie chickens and let her take the burnt chicken, that we ended up throwing away it was so awful (and I am not a picky person at all). Anyway whatever, someone made a mistake ok, they tried to compensate for it. ANYWAY, fast forward to April 29th, the day of my mother in laws FUNERAL. I ordered the chicken on a Monday, went back to pick it up on Wednesday at 11:30a. Well I left very early from the cemetary to be sure I got to the rented hall (only had rented it for 2 hours) so I could set everything up.. Well I get to Superior, there is a boy running the counter (he was covering for someone who was at break or lunch) and I ask for my order, he looks around, pages someone and then after about 10 minutes of him looking around, paging people, helping others he finally says "I don't know where your chicken is, I'm just covering for someone at lunch, do you want me to make the chicken now?" YES!!! HELLO!?!? Ugh so I tell him "YES, I NEED it done ASAP, I just left MY MOTHER IN LAWS funeral early, I need it, start making it now!" So he proceeds to build a box for my chicken and THEN he puts chicken into oil.. By this time AFTER I seen him start my chicken, I go to get coffee creamer etc and went to a register to pay and I see the lady come back from lunch... (I was watching her from register and can only guess what was being said as I was about 25 feet from them) she looks and gestures to the boy "what are u frying?" He, I assume told her what just happen, and then she smiles and shrugs like "oops"... Ummm, NO, NOT OOPS... Then I go back to the counter and am literally stand there so they can HURRY up, all the while I'm literally breathing in and out slowly so I don't lose it... Finally, after about 40 mins, they box up my chicken and I get no, "I'm sorry", NOTHING, so I go ask the boy "is that who u were covering for?" He says "Yes, but she wasn't here when you placed your order" uuummm excuse me, but correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it your job to clock in and then check what orders you have going out that day?? So, I should've ask the lady when I ordered it, "are you working Wednesday or do I only order with the person that will be working when I need to pick up my order???" This store definatley needs some better management, cause these employees are not up to par in my opinion. When I 1st got there and the boy noticed my chicken not there he should've started my chicken right away and THEN we can figure out what happen. Did he think she took my box of chicken with her in her apron when she went to lunch?? So ridiculous... I'm just very thankful I was the one to pick up the chicken and NOT my husband, there would have been a big scene.. And all this, mind you, I am NOT a dramatic person at all, I don't like to start drama or cause a ruckus, especially with people making my food but this was beyond ridiculous. For anyone who cares, the lady's name was Alma C. And for the boy, I didn't catch his name but he usually works the meat department and this all took place on April 29th at 11:30am. And I would LOVE for a manager or someone high up to contact me. I think they need a little insight of how their store is being run. Thank you for your time, and for listening to my "rant" . You employee turnaround in way too high, try giving your employees better wages, from what i heard, you still pay an employee $9.50 after 6 years of loyalty. Every Thursday I buy rotisserie chicken or fried chicken for dinner. I bught fried chicken a month ago and the chicken was not fully cooked. I ate one piece and didn't pay attention to the inside. When I was on my second piece I was baffled. It had blood in it. I called the store imidietly and spoke with Matthew and he said to take the receipt in and they would give me a refund and I took a picture. They gave me my money. But the next day I wake up with a bad stomach ache and want to vomit. Just great I can't miss work so I go to Urgent Care after work. I told my doctor what I had for dinner and I showed him the picture I took and he said, " that can give you salmonella. Couldn't eat all day friday and basically all weekend. This place is horrible!!! Their cashiers and managers are rude and unqualified. Their fruits and vegetables rot fast. The meat department smells rotten. The only things that are affordable are the ones on their ads, everything else is overpriced. U have to be very aware of the prices because when ur paying the price on the screen if sometimes different, and when u inform them of the mistake their rude and dont apologize.. I just come here for the meats. I also love their huge spices/teas section next to the produce. Last time I was in Superior I noticed that they have really good deals on all the regular grocery items(snacks,drinks,bread,ect). As far as the meat,they have a huge selection and they are the cheapest when it comes to the 90% xlean ground beef.They had great deals on their short ribs. Huge meaty pieces bone in. And of course the xlean ground beef was a pleasant surprise because it so expensive everywhere else. So glad I found this place,and just in time for crock-pot cooking! As I noted in another post about a different location,check the prepacked meats thoroughly. read more
