I was headed to home on the 10 fwy approaching the huge Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Baldwin Park when I suddenly had a serious urge for ice cream. While sitting in traffic, I went to Yelp on my phone and I typed in, "ice cream near me" (where else would I search, right?) I was elated to discover that I was three minutes away from a Baskin Robbins ice cream shop. I exited the freeway and drove the one mile only to discover that I had driven by this area hundreds of times and never realized that there was Baskin Robbins in Baldwin Park. I entered the small, clean and well organized shop. I was immediately greeted by two young, female employees, "good morning. Welcome to Baskin Robbins". Is it just me or does hearing a nice greeting from employees of any business always make you feel appreciated? I LOVE ice cream and always go for the "no sugar added" flavors which most locations only offer one such flavor, "Coconut/pineapple". This location not only had this same flavor big they also offered a SECOND, "no sugar added" flavor, "Caramel Turtle Truffle". WHAT!!! Of course, I requested one of each of the above flavors in a come and one spoonful of either flavor and I was happy as a kid in an ice cream shop. Both flavors were delicious and the portion sizes were more than enough for me. Service here was GREAT from the two young female employees who were both very friendly, and welcoming. Stranger Things and a T-Mobile Tuesday offer led me back trying out Baskin Robbins. This Baskin Robbins location is in a shared plaza with Papa Johns, Yum Yum Donuts and a water place. Parking is not too bad. There's more parking in the back. Which can kind of seem shady when it gets dark. Upon walking in there's a fridge display of many flavors of ice cream and cones. The staff there are pretty nice. They'll let you sample a couple until you find your right flavor. During my visit Stranger Things has been a popular showcase at the store so you'll find different flavors that relate to the the show. There's Eleven's Heaven, Upside down praline, and the USS Butterscotch. Eleven's Heaven and USS Butterscotch are the best in the Stranger Things lineup in my opinion. I usually get a pint or a quart when stopping by. Scoops of ice cream in a cone can run you upwards of close to 5 bucks. With a pint or quart you can enjoy as much as you want anytime. I would take off one star from this visit because the ice cream had already been melted and soft upon receiving. When I got home it was dripping out on the sides like an ice cream explosion. Easy fix with re-freezing does the trick. Still very good ice cream! read more

The men who work there are literally carrying the entire store. I just went in to grab my nieces birthday cake for her first birthday. It was completely packed when I arrived. I stood there with an ice cream in my cake for 10 minutes while everybody else was checked out and serviced. Not because the workers were overwhelmed, but because the owner decided to act on nepotism and service, a couple behind me, rather than help the person that had been standing in line. She came out as soon as they walked in and even wrote on their cakes before she realized I hadn't even be charged charged all the while holding an ice cream cake in my hands. She walked past me multiple times ignoring me not even looking at me but somehow maneuvering her way around me I'm this tiny store. As a fellow Customer Service worker (manager at a subway) I find it disrespectful that this location doesn't have a tip jar for me to tip the boys and girls. Many people don't understand the amount of patience and restraint that is required to work in the customer service industry so when i walk in and get the outstanding service that i received tonight it's disheartening to not be able to leave a tip to show how grateful i am for said service.
