First, they only take card because the registers broken, then they make a door exit only, now the freezers broken and they shut down early. The wait was no longer than fifteen minutes which was totally acceptable. I ordered the strawberry blonde which is made with strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, pie crust, caramel and whipped topping. One taste of my ice cream and I was like, "Wow! This is good". Cold Stones always tastes great and is always bougie (you get what you pay for)! There is an option to customize or choose pre-made flavors and toppings. This location is right next to AMC theatres and we stopped by to cool off here before watching a movie! Chose the Caramel apple pie pre-made flavor and it was delicious!! The employees were nice and helpful. But I gave 4 stars because all the tables outside are poorly taken care of and in bad shape. We sat down at the first and it was so shaky and unstable. So we switched to the other one and it was just as shaky. You could tell no effort was put into preserving the seating area outside. read more

I was there last night. The worker was annoyed that we were there and tapped her nails on the counter while we decided on what we wanted. My daughter wanted the Halloween taco ice cream and when she couldn't remember what it was called the worker played dumb, like she had no idea what it was and finally called it by it's name. They were out of it and that's fine. I know those things trend. I ordered the Banana ice cream with Heath bar but they didn't have Heath bar so I got Twix. The ice cream was freezer burned and so was my daughter's Vanilla but mine was worse. I will stick to other places to spend my money. A like it and a love it was $16.98 that had to be thrown away. In the war for ice cream supremacy, Cold Stone Covina falls short compared to other creameries in more ways than one. While the food offers are about the same across the chain creamery, the staff's service varies. Covina's staff were very unenthusiastic about helping customers and were more in a hurry to get you out the door than to properly answer questions regarding menu or even put your mix-ins correctly before plopping it into a bowl (strictly bowl because they seem to stop making waffle cones very early on after several uninspiring attempts to get one). The ambiance of the place matches the attitude of the staff and already dying shopping center by being gloomy, sad, and operating as normal but some of the lights don't seem to be on or want to work. All in all, I'd say Thrifty and Baskin may not have the best flavors but definitely offer more bang for your buck and quality of service than that of a place where if you close your eyes, you can hear the faint haunting echoes of yesterday where joyful team members sang tip songs and served with a smile. This workers here act like the ice cream is coming out of their paycheck. Don't bother getting a bigger size because they won't fill up the cup anyways. They were out of business for a while and I'm sure they will return to that status very soon. If you're going to charge 10+ for a basic scoop of ice cream at least fill up the damn cup. I got the PB lovers love it and dude only put 1 Reese's cup in it and hardly any ice cream. Don't know how this is even a viable business anymore. I love ice cream. TOO MUCH for my own good. Every time I am grocery shopping at Aldi, I try not to look over but it is always a losing battle. My kryptonite? Chocolate Devotion, hold the choco syrup and swap the chocolate chips with almonds. Creamy chocolate ice cream with chunks of gooey brownies. Heaven is a Love It sized Chocolate Devotion. I have not been here in a minute. This place has great ice cream creations but man have prices gone up. Little over nine bucks for a small. I gotta say the creation Cookie Doughn't You Want Some I ordered was tasty. Sure there's other ice cream joints around that are cheaper then this place, but if you want a bunch of sweet goodies mixed into your ice cream this is the place. The staff was very helpful and helped our party of 6 out without any hiccups. My only gripe was I remember when you tip the staff they would sing a little jingle. No jingle today. Lol. There is definitely something for everyone ranging from ice cream, shakes, cakes, ice cream sandwiches, etc. The combination and options seem endless, which makes trying new items always a delight. Despite the bad reviews, my experience has been positive. I really think this place deserves 4-stars especially for the customer service I received the times I have visited. On my last two visits, their staff was prompt and friendly. Areas were clean and counter was attractively displayed. I do however note that their flavors are standard and I have not seen them carry any specialty or seasonal flavor....at least not during my visits (hence my 3-star rating). On one occasion, I was badly craving butter pecan and questioned the young man behind the counter if there was any chance they had some in their freezer stocks. He said they did not, but he could make it by adding french vanilla, pecans and caramel. I generally do not take suggestions on ice cream especially when I know the exact flavor I want. This time, I had a bit of an open mind and went for it. I was disappointed when I finally sat down at home to enjoy my ice cream and confirmed it tasted nothing like the blended flavor. In the future, I will always opt for purchasing whatever I'm craving. Despite this, the ice cream was still delicious... it was just not what I wanted. Will definitely be back! read more

With my eldest wrapped up in a SkyZone party across the parking lot, and my middle kid in tow without an official invitation, we took a stroll over to Coldstone, thinking we could kill the better part of the half hour left before the party ended, spend a little QT with my only daughter, and you know... ice cream. We walked in and found a short line. I have to be honest that I was a little put off by the prices. $6.25 for a "Like It" sized mix? That's probably franchise standard... but I suppose my inner 80s kid still remembers when Thrifty ice cream changed from 25¢ to 35¢ for a single cone. We made our mental choices and waited for the part of three in front of us to finish. Worker #1 said, "I'll be right with you." Thanks, Steph. Worker #2, standing 5 feet away, walks over, looks right at me, and... decides to take the order of the people behind us. Awesome. No matter, I thought, we'll wait for Worker #1, who said she be right with us. She finishes ringing up the crew in front of us... and then decided to ring up yet another person who walked in after us and was making a cake purchase. So here I am, standing here like an idiot in line with everyone else behind me getting served. I would have walked out, but already sold my 6 year old daughter on the prospect of ice cream, and don't want to start yelling at high school kid workers in front of her. Steph finished with cake buyer, and walks over saying, "Oh, did she skip you?" I just winked, thinking she'll take care of us.... NOPE, she actually TURNED AND WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE STORE. Thanks again, Steph. Starting to see a trend, here. With no one else left in line behind us, Worker #2 had no choice but to take our order. She muttered something about "I thought you were with the people in front of you." No, dear, as evidenced by the fact that we're still standing here like schnooks NOT HOLDING ICE CREAM... we're not. I didn't say a word... just paid and left. My daughter and I sat on a planter down the walk a ways, and enjoyed our ice cream and staring at the clouds. Kinda nice, actually... and got us out of that store that definitely had a faint but discernible putrescence hanging in the air. Time to clean the case or change the HVAC filters, maybe. I'm not expecting concierge treatment at an ice cream joint. Especially from a franchise store who hires entry-level kids to work on Saturdays... basic customer service would be nice and increase the odds of repeat business. Attention owners of this franchise: from my experience and so many other reviews, you have a serious problem on your hands... and I don't mean the hundreds of Frozen Yogurt places in the immediate area. I guess I do expect those workers to follow kindergarten rules of a line and whose turn it is. Even 5 year olds at a drinking fountain can figure that one out. So we walked back around & had to entree through the exit only door .... The had employees shouting for people to exit because they reached capacity , Then one came out to shut the only door people had to enter but said exit only , Then few minutes later they come out again to rearrange the line & tell people to have the line go o it the door so the exit wasn't blocked.... The door that was LOCKED so of course no one was able to use that door. When I'm with my family & they ordered their ice cream I lost my appetite. Was over the wait & lack of organization. Again, this place is totally in our hood and pretty much we can say literally across the street from our house. When its hot and you want something cold... COLDstones! When you are bored and want something yummy... Cold stones (there is endless possibilities of toppings/mixtures/creations you can make here). Before or after the theater..take a few steps and you are at Coldstones. This place is usually a bit crowded after the movies though. Of all the times we've been here, the staff has been friendly and always carry a conversation with you (great when there is no line, but if there is a line.. try to make it short and keep it going, we always feel bad for the customers behind us). Oh and the staff here is always really patient!! I tend to change my mix ins at times and can't bring myself to choose one creation. The staff has been helpful and is always willing to recommend mix ins to try in there. The prices are a bit over priced to come here on a weekly basis but keep an eye out for coupons here and there. I am sure the calories and sugar content would get me cottage cheese thighs eventually so we try to come here sparingly but the cravings get to me all the time and Wilson ends up giving in as well. read more
