I have seldom left a negative response,...however. our servicer, I believe Alana, was very sweet and apoligist.. our evening was not good. We arrived at 5:45 p.m. We were slowly waited on, but it was Saturday, so no problem. It seemed to be somewhat under staffed.Still not a biggy. We waited and waited, finally got the wine we ordered. However no garlic mushroom appetizer. After waiting some time I asked the waitress. We were told they ran out off mushrooms and had to go to the store??? Waited and waited for not only mushrooms, but the entree. Several people came in, ate, and left b4 we got our food. Our salads were great. Homemade dressing was very good. The steak Diane was tougher than my shoe, vegetables were raw, and the alcohol in the Diane didn't taste like it had been cooked off. My husband had rockfish picatta. He thought it was ok however his pasta was gummy. After 3hrs.++ We finally got our dinner so we didn't complain. We did tell the server about the wait and how others were served and left way b4 us. She comped dessert to go, which was sweet. A group of about 10 arrived quite awhile after us, were served, ate, and had dessert b4 our appetizer came. Relatively new to town, wife and I are coming from an area with a wide range of food styles, cultures, and great cocktails. We have been on a mission to find some of the best restaurants and cocktail lounges in Grants Pass. My wife has seen the Food Studio many times going down G street as we drove by and mentioned we have to try it sometime. Tonight was the night. Let's begin with, they are open on Sundays, they are also open late on Sundays. 9pm as of this writing. 9pm on Sunday in Grants Pass? Heck yea! G street was extremely dead like usual, the Food Studio had a handful of customers which after eating there, wish they were busier for the staff and owner. But hey, it's Sunday in Grants Pass. Immediately we were greeted by Jeff who gave us the option to sit wherever we felt comfortable. Wife really likes to sit at the bar, I love to be social, so we sat at the bar. Jeff (Our waiter/bartender) immediately helped us with two whiskey sours with our selected whiskeys of choice, DELICIOUS. The whiskey sours were actually sour up front, with a nice sweetness on the back end. Really really enjoyed our cocktails. After finishing the first round I noticed they had a bottle of Double Oak Balvenie 12 which is one of my favorite scotches and I rarely see it offered in restaurants. Pour me up neat, please! Wife and I had a long day and had been snacking throughout it so we weren't starving by any stretch of the imagination, hungry yes. We decided to start with the Crab Gratin. The dish came out piping out, fresh warm sourdough bread, and huge chunks of crab in it. I am full as I write this, and still want more. On to our main, since we had been snacking all day we decided to share the chef special tonight, the special was a balsamic glazed salmon with veggies, spinach and rice. I have had salmon at 5 different restaurants in town and this is tied for #1. Cooked to perfection, veggies still had a slight crunch to them. This chef knows what he is doing. I got a bit long winded with this, but I feel restaurants and staff that go above and beyond deserve it. Also, I have learned that other yelpers tend to like details rather than 5 stars and "It was delicious". My wife and I look forward to eating here again in the very near future and making more memories in our beautiful little town. Cheers everyone! read more

Went for lunch today. Our host/waiter was caring a gun. I'm not sure if there was a shootout the day before or if he still aspires to be a cowboy, but I thought it was odd. The table next to me were conversing about it as well. When he asked if my meal was good, I had to say it was. But, the meal was okay. The food was amazing!! Ourvservee Jeff took great care of us too. My husband and I started with the coconut shrimp, the dipping sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and then spicy. Jeff told us the sauce was made there. So yummy. My husband had the ribeye, it came with mashed potatoes (tasted homemade) and steamed vegetables (cooked perfectly, still with a crunch). Husband was very happy with his meal. I had the chicken jalapeno linguini. I can't complain it was great. Chicken was moist and tender and the pasta had so much flavor. I had a martini during the meal it was passion fruit, mango habenero which Jeff made...it was delicious. To finish I had the creme brule, oh my gosh it was perfect. Definitely will be back. I'm so happy when I find a beautiful gem of a restaurant in my hometown! This place is just such a place. Not only is the inside done with great care and a lot of style, but it's one of those places that you enter and think, "wow, I could come here often!" It's got a comfortable, unhurried vibe about it that carries through to the waitstaff. Don't get me wrong, they are right on top of everything, but they don't rush you in and out. They cater to you and make you feel like you're the only one they have to wait on! After a morning at the Saturday Market we decided to have lunch and we walked by this place and took a gander at their menu. It is eclectic, tasty sounding, and very well priced. There were four of us and we tried a couple of different things. The Cobb salad my friend tried was large, had just the right ratio of lettuce to tasty ingredients and a wonderful bleu cheese dressing. Two of us tried the appetizer, crab gratin and it was so creamy with plenty of crab, a very nice creamy sauce, baked to perfection. The thin slices of toast that came with it were just the right touch. I would have even like fried wontons with as well. Very good, great price, and just enough - as it is rich, rich, rich! The fourth person had their burger and it was delicious, presentation was very good, and the aroma was even better. We all had different alcoholic beverages and they were great, the French 75 was so good, my only regret was that I couldn't finish it! They were even kind enough to use cognac instead of gin. This was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. So if you're coming down restaurant row (6th & G Street), turn your eyes toward the small strip mall and look for Food Studio. So impressive! First time diners and were wowed with the attentive service, variety on menu, cocktails so generously poured, portion sizes, prices, and overall atmosphere!! The food here is soooo good and the drinks too! I would recommend asking what the special is for dinner and drinks. I had the salmon special and it was tasty. Cesar salad is also really good it has freshly made Cesar dressing not a yucky bottled one. The crab gratin is good it has big chunks of crab meat in it that is so . The bar is well priced and extensive. The bar tender is that coolest and nicest guy ! The service is great. I really have nothing but compliments for the staff and chefs here. Really great place to have dinner and drinks. I haven't tried dessert here yet but I heard the hummingbird cake is great and the coconut cake looks great appetizing. read more

We discovered the Food Studio on my friend's birthday, which was on a Sunday and almost no restaurants were open in Grants Pass. They were OPEN! And the menu was brimming with gourmet options! We started with margarita's which were amazing! Then we had the clam appetizer which was oh so good! And our entrees which were both excellent!! We had no room for dessert though the options sounded lovely. The service was exceptional too! We were delighted to discover this gourmet restaurant in Grants Pass. We have already been back twice and will continue to be frequent customers. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend them! Bonus: they are open on Sundays and Mondays. ;) read more

Went here for the first time last weekend with a huge group and our waitress did a great job catering to the different dietary restrictions some of my family members had. I wouldn't recommend the Alfredo if you do not like rich foods though; definitely delicious but I couldn't take more than a few bites. We had the best experience dining tonight. We enjoyed a rib eye steak cooked by chef Matt and a cowboy burger that was the best ever! Both cooked to perfection! Smoked Georgia Peach cocktail was good- old fashioned and cubatini were not good at all. French fries tasted like they were from frozen. Smoked salmon pasta- salmon was good, but the sauce would taste better from a jar. Medium rare burgers were definitely well done. Jalapeño chicken pasta was the best of the 3 entrees we tried. The entire building was so smoky from the kitchen even though we were the only ones- (no need for reservations, there were literally 15 empty tables). Nobody in the building was wearing a mask, which is frustrating with the mask mandate in effect. Not very sanitary... it also took a long time to get things even though we were the only ones here. (1.5 hours from arriving to leaving) We had to ask for water because the waitress was too busy talking to another waitress. They were too busy chatting that they delivered my drink in a group carrying on their conversation. Very mediocre. If you want to try the smoked drink, check in on the waitlist at the bohemian, come over for a smoked drink, and go back to the bohemian...
