The cashier doesn't bag your items but, places them into a new cart for you to bag yourself. The store is set up as a giant warehouse with items stored in a nonsensical manner at times. They usually only sell their branded items or very few brand-name items. However, these tactics are employed to save the company money and they pass on the savings to the customer. This store is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. We get some of the groceries here and the rest at Walmart. The produce and meats are reasonably priced and very fresh. Living out in the rural areas, this is the only grocery store in the area (8 miles from my home)…read more It's 17 miles to the nearest big city with regular sized stores and selection. This store is the only grocery store in a 20 mile radius. There is no deli and the produce section is small. Selection is limited and certain items are unavailable (English muffins). Rather that focus on the negatives, I'm sticking with positive things. The meat selection is decent, fresh and reasonably priced. The essential items you need (bread, milk, eggs, butter, flour, sugar, spices, etc) are all here and always available. The employees are regular, friendly folks that do their best to get you on your way. There are no cart corals so you'll need to return your cart to the front of the store. Luckily, it's not very far to walk because there's usually not a full parking lot. Many times I can park within 15 feet of the front door. You can't park that close at ANY grocery store I know of, anywhere. One major difference is, you can get what you need without walking a mile! The size is approximately that of a Family Dollar / Dollar General store. Overall, it's a great store.

The store itself is pretty clean and stocked decent. I have gotten some and found some items that were out of date. Whenever I see this, I take the item up and they take care of it right away. They are a bit higher priced on some things, but that's expected for them being their location. Being only a short distance from home, I can go here if I need something fast and don't want to take an hour. Lighting could use a bit of brightening inside the store also. The parking lot is a decent size and never really full. They keep it clean outside and it never looks bad. Just a few small changes to this place and I'd go up one or two stars. All in all, I'd still go here even if I had a bigger chain close to it.

I come here for the bread, the bakery is rather good and not typical grocery store stuff…read more The rest of the store is hit or miss, some good brands at great prices, some odd brands that are clearly 3rd string. There are also a lot of treats and candy that reminded me of a Pier 1 or World Trade Market. And you can find some European brands of things you just can't find in regular stores. I see Lidl as someplace to go occasionally since they are out of the way for us but if we lived closer we would shop more regularly. Ok last thing, lots of people compare this to ALDI. I don't they really are different, the bakery is far better than anything at ALDI, they also sell lower end oddities like a Dollar store, and many German or EU food products. They do carry some of the low-end brands that ALDI sells and for both stores that's part of their value. Some folks are ok to have 3rd rate quality to save a little money. For us we are selective and I don't mind hitting several grocery stores to get the best that each offers.

I know everyone has been going up but I am disappointed when I go in for a specific item and it is not there. I don't live close so I only get here once or twice a year.
