Reasoning is that the supply is automatic, so when they ring up a dirty dr pepper and don't use regular sweetened dr pepper for it, the supply amounts are off in the system. Diet is low without a sale and regular is unchanged with a sale, throwing the system off. Multiply that by hundreds and the whole system fails.
