I have got to warn people about Fountain of Juice in Macon. I took my mom there yesterday for lunch and we both ordered quiche and a salad.....the quiche was so hard on top that there was no way to cut through it with the provided butter knife. I turned mine over and ate from the bottom. My mom tried to pick it up and bite into it. Horrible! Then my mom was eating her salad and a long hair was in there. At that point I'd had enough. I told her to quit eating and called over the manager who proceeded to argue with me about the quiche being too hard. When I tried to tap my fork against it to demonstrate she replied "well now it's hard...most people don't complain and just cut into it". I then went on to explain about the hair in my moms salad and to add insult to injury she said, "where's the hair? I need to see it... our cook wears a full hairnet and she's the only one back there...". (Implying I was lying). She did not offer to comp our meals. She gave us take home salads and quiche (as if I want any more of their food)! I did find the hair for her, but I was angry and offended! $37 we left and I will NOT be returning! Went to FOJ recently because I've heard how wonderful it was, but wasn't impressed. I was by myself, and it wasn't crowded, but my server would walk right past me and say "I'm gonna get this other table first" when I had been sitting there with no drink and no menu for 15 minutes. Once I finally got a menu and a drink, it was another 15 minutes before he came back to take my order. I got my food and my server did not come back by again until I asked for the check as he was filling another table's drinks. It took another 20 minutes to get my check, and for him to close it for me. Overall, the food was okay, but overpriced and I spent way to long in there with little to no service. read more

This place is simply amazing! I travel down to Macon quite a bit for work, and this is honestly the best food and service. The healthy options are abundant, and the staff is phenomenal. My friend and I had lunch at this place just recently. I can say that the food is great. I like their chicken salad and the banana pudding cake. And green tea is the best in town. You should try this place. It's super nice and the crew are cool. The ambiance is pretty neat and classy. Price is just fair for the good food they serve. e stopped in at the Fountain of Juice in Macon for Dinner, Diahann my wife was raving about this restaurant. The decor, atmosphere was very nice. We had a great waitress that couldn't say Sorry enough lol. The first two things I ordered, she came back and told us they ran out. How does a restaurant run out of food, piss poor planning. I ordered a French Dip with Fruit as my side. The French Dip was ok, nothing to write home about, no real flavor. The worst thing was the fruit, how do you get fruit wrong, will this is how, I got fruit hot. Why would you serve hot fruit that should be cold. They allowed me to swap it, I chose the pasta salad, wrong wrong wrong choice. It wasn't cooked enough, still to hard and had no flavor at all. Diahann ordered the Dakota sandwich which comes with fried green tomatoes, but they forgot the tomatoes lol. They brought her a sandwich made of sauce only lol. Had to laugh about it. The only saving Gracie for this restaurant was their Cesar's salad. Diahann loved it. Diahann has convinced (told) me that we should give them another chance. What's not to life about this place! Their staff is awesome and the food is even better! The fries and the sauce that comes with it is a favorite. Their house salad is amazing. Just about all of their items are made fresh in the restaurant. My current favorite is the Veg Out burger. I also love the BBGLT and the Tuna TarTar Nachos are awesome. Definitely get petit fours if they are up at the cash register. Amazing. They don't have sweet tea, only green tea but it is amazing as well. There isn't really anything I have ever had here that I didn't love. It can get pricey, especially at dinner time, but it is well worth it. read more

Fabulous lunch today! I had the butternut squash soup (best ever) and the fried green tomato appetizer. Very good. A friend had the bruiser burger and loved every bite, and another friend had the steak shredder sandwich and devoured it! I will definitely try that one on my next visit. My family stopped on the way back to FL from TN after reading other reviews and were delighted. My daughter is very picky, and loved her Superman sandwich, insisting on taking the last few bites to go when she couldn't finish. Very nice place. We were there for dinner, and it was cozy and warm. There were fake candles on every table. It first it was quiet and empty, but it filled up with customers over time. The fried green tomato Napoleon was very good. The small salads were good. Her paper sack sea bass was very good. My petit filet with fingerling potatoes was great. Let's get one thing straight...if you are looking for processed chicken fingers and oily onion rings this may not be the place for you. If you crave overcooked veggies and oversalted food that is served in a trough, this may not be a place for you. However, if you desire fresh, high quality food that is prepared with care, this is the only place in town-trust me! Where else are you getting a fresh caprese sandwich made to order, or fresh made chicken salad with apples and dill? Burgers are ridiculous and house made. Salads are simply the best from here to ATL. Smoothies are made to order & packed with freshness. You won't finish the dinner entrees. Don't insult this place and compare it to McCallister's or Jimmy John's. That is garbage food made 3000 miles away. FOJ is the only place we go--whether it's for a quick lunch, a filling dinner, an important lunch meeting or a catered event. Prices are on point considering quality and portion sizes. Btw, the owner works her freakin' butt off (locally owned). Did I mention desserts? You need to see the size of the tiramisu--best in town!! If you haven't tried it, try it! I loved going here when they were on Vineville and I could order at the counter, get my food, and find a table. At the new location I was disappointed that they have now become a sit-down restaurant. Definitely need to work out some kinks because I waited on food for an hour with 2 toddlers who were growing very irritable. When the food finally came it didn't come out together and the kid's food was last! Theirs should've been first. Also, it was obvious some of the food had been sitting there as the fries were cold. We enjoyed our meal at FOJ. Good service, good food. My hubby had the Monte Cristo and loved it. He tried the sweet green tea as well and said it was good (he loves regular sweet tea). I had a delicious fried chicken sandwich with shoestring fries and a side salad (super good salad). My daughter had chicken tortilla soup, which was the most disappointing part of the meal - not much chicken and gigantic hunks of tomato in it, so she really didn't eat a lot of it and I didn't blame her. GREAT lunch! I came with a party of 5 and were quickly seated. I had "The Shredder" and butternut squash soup. It was AMAZING! The sandwich was steak with blue cheese cole slaw on ciabatta bread. I was in the area & didn't know anything about FOJ. Intrigued by the decor, I went in & decided to eat dinner there. Although the burgers looked delicious, I settled on one of the specials - blackened filet mignon with blue cheese crumbles, stuffed with a rich filling, served on top of fried onions. I may be wrong about some of the details - but I know for a fact that the filet was tender, tasty, and excellent! The house salad was a delightful, extremely fresh spring mix with blueberries, strawberries, cranberries and goat cheese. FOJ will be my new go-to place to eat when I am in Macon for the day - I can't wait to try one of their burgers and may take some pimento cheese home! Service was fine. The tables along the long wall are spaced quite close together, so be prepared to squeeze into your seat if you dine in that area - it is great for groups, though. read more

I really loved the freshness and amazing presentation of the food. I found the place after looking for a healthy dining option and it was listed as a top five in Macon right around the corner from where we live. I would give the place a 4.5 and only because as a first time guest it was a little off putting and different. When we first walked in the host greeted us and immediately asked us if we wanted a to go order. This was a little off putting but since we wanted to dine in and were unsure how everything worked. However after we seated ourselves we immediately got service. Apparently we walked in right at a shift change and we received a new waiter, Christian. He was very knowledgeable about the food, history and owner and was very welcoming. The tea was amazing and freshly brewed. We had no previous experience eating this kind of food but he was very helpful suggesting top sellers and pointing is in the right direction. I ordered the apple quinoa, which I have not ever had but it was the best thing I have ever eaten. We even stayed for dessert! The food came out immediately and there was no wait time at all and every order was so evenly placed so that we finished our appetizers right as the meal came out. The restaurant was impeccably clean, even under the tables, which I checked because I was dumbfounded at how clean everything was. No gum no scum nothing so I am very impressed. The food was so good we will be back and next time we will know how it works. However, the real draw to this place for us was the friendliness that Christian showed us and the patience that he had, unlike our first waitress. We will definitely be back!! read more
