Our first impression was disappointing. Despite having a reservation, the restaurant did not seem prepared for our arrival. While we waited near the host stand, three staff members were loudly discussing their shifts and eating in full view of waiting guests. We were eventually seated off to the side, and the way the interaction was handled felt dismissive and rude rather than welcoming. My friend and I also had different dining needs. He has a medically limited appetite, while I selected the Full Churrasco experience. I considered the more expensive option, but many of its additional offerings contained dairy, so it would not have provided much value for me. Several complimentary items were brought to the table, but they were not suitable for my dietary restrictions, and no alternative was offered or explained. One genuinely positive part of the experience was the accommodation made for my friend. He originally ordered the picanha option, but because he could eat only a small amount, the staff kindly allowed him to receive the full churrasco selection as a special accommodation. That flexibility was thoughtful and sincerely appreciated. The wine service was more complicated than it needed to be. I initially ordered a South American Malbec by the glass based on a staff recommendation, only to be told afterward that it was unavailable. They then recommended a South American red blend, but none of the red blends listed by the glass identified which grapes they contained. I had to ask for that information, and the staff eventually returned with the bottle so I could read it myself. It was La Piu Belle 2021 from Chile, a blend of Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. I appreciated that they eventually showed me the bottle, but the wine list should provide that basic information, and staff should confirm that a recommended wine is available before a guest orders it. The table service continued to feel inattentive. Whenever I needed a fresh plate, my friend had to retrieve one for me rather than a staff member noticing or offering one. During the meat service, one of the servers also spilled a considerable amount of sauce directly onto my phone while it was lying on the table. Accidents happen, but it was frustrating and created the possibility of damaging an expensive personal item. I later ordered another serving of filet mignon, but the piece I received had a distinctly unpleasant taste. I told our server that I was willing to try the filet again, but specifically did not want another serving from that same batch. He said he understood, yet the meat server returned with the exact same filet and appeared to have no knowledge of what I had reported. The concern had apparently not been communicated, which was especially troubling because it involved the quality and taste of the meat. There were also an excessive number of flies around the dining area. They were persistent enough around our table to become a distracting and uncomfortable part of the meal. Regardless of the cause, that is not something I would expect at a restaurant in this price range. Overall, the evening included one genuinely considerate accommodation, but it was overshadowed by a disorganized arrival, dismissive seating, unprofessional conduct near the host stand, limited attention to dietary restrictions, confusing wine service, inconsistent plate service, sauce spilled on my phone, a poorly handled concern about the filet mignon, and a persistent number of flies. For a restaurant at this price point, the experience did not feel nearly as organized, attentive, or polished as it should have.

Wow. I am blown away. I haven't been to Fogo in a while. But this is as good as I remember and more. First off the hostess is absolutely endearing. Then my server Ireland showed up. While I knew the food would be perfect, I had no idea I would also get amazing treatment and fun conversation as well. She re-explained how it works here. And helped me find a couple NonAlc cocktails to enjoy. Overall I am blown away by this spot. Great work. The vibes are fun. The lighting is great.

The ambiance was a nice 5-star with white table cloths, darker lighting and premium finishes. I liked that a lot. It was easy to talk with it not being crazy loud with others. The service was excellent. The meats had some temperature variation (which would be a challenge) where some are piping hot and others were not as hot as I would have liked. (But not bad). The meats I found to be a bit overly cooked and a tad on the dry side. It was still very good, but not 5-star good. My favorites were the cheesy bread served at the beginning to the table and the grilled cheese with honey. They were my unexpected surprises that were delicious. The salad bar had a 5-star presentation with amazing variety, but honestly, none of the items really hit with me. It was good but not great flavorful taste. It ain't cheap for sure. But it was a fun and unique experience. 5-star follow up from the business too. That shows attention to detail which I love.

First time dining here... it was something special! I opted for the buffet dinner and was not disappointed. Fresh food, quality service and a barrage of meat. There must be 50 staff minimum working at any given time. Somehow, there is an organized march of delivering freshly sliced meat at consistently separate intervals. There was a nice variety of chicken, beef, pork, and other things like grilled pineapple and grilled cheese. I didn't try everything that was offered, but was satisfied with the things I did sample. The staff was very attentive. My water glass was frequently refilled and our server made great recommendation for drinks and dessert. The way that they coordinate the entire experience was really spectacular. This is not a dining room experience that I would undertake without being pretty hungry. It's a buffet! But more accurately, it's an upscale dining experience, and the meat quality was quite exceptional. Come for the novelty of having oversized grilled meat skewers delivered to your table and stay for the outstanding flavor from well tenderized and properly spiced meats in distinctive Brazilian style.

To start, it's a beautiful location with moody/chic decor and the vibes are set as soon as you enter. I would say that this location is a lot more lively than downtown Portland, with upbeat music, friendly staff and a colorful salad bar. We deeply enjoyed the salad bar with options ranging from meats and cheeses, roasted veggies, breads and more. As we get into the experience itself, there were quite a few disappointments. I wouldn't say negative, the staff does a great job, but the food and service could use improvement in several areas: - We were the only couple seated on the bar side of the restaurant, so a majority of the meats coming to our table were far in-between, cold, and overcooked. -The salad bar could use direction, or some way to guide the flow of traffic. Folks were walking in between both aisles grabbing food and were moving slowly, making it at least 5 minutes before we could explore the section in its entirety. Servers were standing near the entrance to it drying dishes and standing, so it was very cramped. - Lobster Mac n Cheese was $18 and incredibly bland and I wouldn't recommend ordering it. We used a lot of salt and pepper to make it edible, but it arrived just above warm and had already thickened. - Bone marrow $9 add-on - needs an intense flame/grill to cook out the meat and oils from it, what arrived to our table was sickeningly oily and wet, with little char flavor whatsoever. Two small pieces of dried out bread did not help give it texture or flavor. - While we encourage liveliness and camaraderie between coworkers, I am in a customer service position myself and know sometimes conversations get out of hand, we were seated near a bartender that talked loudly our entire meal over the course of an hour and a half, and that person cussed constantly within ear shot of patrons. Other servers crowded around the bar as well, making us feel awkward being the only people on the side of the restaurant listening to their conversations. Overall, it was still a good experience, $190 got us more than enough food to last, with leftovers as well. The drinks were well made for $10 All Day Happy Hour, very citrusy cutting through the heaviness of the meats, but there's a lot of room for improvement to survive Bridgeport's competitive scene. Kona Grill and McCormick & Schmick's are recent examples of this.

New restaurante has a nice ambiance, with the bar under a dome, looking very spacious and inviting. Great place for events and for outdoors. This became my favorite place for good drinks (especially Brazilian caipirinha) within the bar area. The burger tasted great, best cost x benefit burger in town for sure!!!

    Great recommendation Madelyn!!

When I say above and beyond service, this was well above and beyond that by FAR!! The bartender MADELYN was the most gracious host and the other young man who worked the bar with her (I'm sorry I forgot his name) was peak comedy and conversation! Individually or as a team they are exceptional. They ambiance of the location is fantastic, whether at the bar or a table, this is WELL worth the visit. The drinks, the appetizers and the meal are ALL incredible. And I absolutely can not forget the manager on the night of 7/27 who absolutely checked in and made sure the night was exquisite! Couldn't have made a birthday night more spectacular! 11/10!

Was excited to try this location, which is now the second Fogo in the Portland area. The restaurant is beautifully designed, modern, and upscale, and everything felt brand new and clean. The salad bar was fresh, side orders amazing, thoughtfully maintained, with a great variety. The variety of meats was cooked right and the creme brulee I ordered was yummy. Service was attentive and professional without feeling rushed. Bathrooms were also clean which is always appreciated. Overall a great addition to Tigard and definitely a spot I'll return to. Both great restaurants in the area with two different vibes.

Our family had the full Churassco experience for lunch and we had a reservations for 6 on a Thursday afternoon. We had to wait 5 minutes or so for our table. The design aesthetic is 10 out of 10 - beautiful wood finishes, luxe textiles, gorgeous lighting, a variety of seating (the banquette seating is stunning). So much interior seating and zones!! The wait staff are professional and they shared about the menu and market table as we were new to the restaurant. The market table showed magnificently - fresh fruits, greens and some really unique sides. I didn't try too much as I wanted the entrees to be the stars. I had a salad, fruit and hummus and grilled vegetables - all were tasty. We were seated in a back corner so I felt like the cadence of the servers offering the meat entrees was spotty, waiting 10 minutes or more for another sampling, in addition to the temperature of the entrees. Some were piping hot, others room temp, some medium and others well overcooked. Everyone at the table really enjoyed the bread and the grilled cheese with honey. We were stuffed the entire day so we definitely had our fill. My only other comment is that I saw on social media a $49 option but the Churassco experience at $52 was a way better choice for lunch. At that point, why offer the $49 when there are limitations - for $3 more you can have it all.

My wife and I visited for afternoon lunch, and each had the $18 market table buffet. The restaurant was about a third full, yet we had to wait about seven minutes to be seated. Our table was wobbly, but the setting was beautiful, with white tablecloths, heavy silverware, and comfortable chairs. They immediately brought us four mini popovers as complementary appetizers. They explained that the market table works just like a standard buffet, where you walk up and grab a plate and fill it with whatever you want, and then they clear out plates as you finish them. Besides the large variety of food on the market table, they also offer mashed potatoes polenta fries, and fried bananas upon request. I tried a little bit of virtually everything on offer, and it was very well prepared and mostly flavorful. I couldn't get into the eggplant or marinated vegetables, but everything else was scrumptious. The tomato mozzarella soup was by far my favorite. The maple smoked bacon was incredibly good. I also enjoyed trying a couple of the exotic fruits that I rarely get to eat, like dragon fruit and papaya. For the most part, the wait staff were efficient and friendly, but at one point my water glass sat empty for 5 minutes. Despite eating way too much, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, and I'm looking forward to returning. The meal is quite a bargain given that entrées at any other restaurant in the village are also roughly $18.

Before they opened we made a plan to try this location because our friends have birthdays 2 days apart and they've never had Fogo before. We went in the day between with a reservation. I would suggest getting reservations a week in advance because even with several days and it being a weekday we couldn't get in until later. The parking around here is a pain so you'll need to drive around a bit usually to find one. Even on a reservation we waited 15-20 minutes past the time to be seated at the front table behind the entrance that was empty the entire time we waited. Not a great start but our server was really nice. I was impressed with the market table because there were a lot of options. Kind of a good thing because they didn't really come around as often as I'm used to with the meats. They didn't have the full variety and we never saw things like chicken etc. It could be hard to understand what they even had because they don't really speak up so you just kind of say yes to everything really. The food was tasty and we were definitely full. Our server informed our friends they each got a birthday dessert so it was fun watching them try to eat a delicious dessert when they were full. The desserts were nice though and they managed just fine. Doesn't really have the right vibe when more people than not are just ordering off the regular menu. Felt like if they just kept it to Brazil grill style rather than combining it with a regular restaurant it would have been better food and service. Felt kind of pricey overall. At least they cleaned up our table regularly though. It's okay but not as good as downtown.

We enjoyed the full churrasco dinner at $79. It included the salad bar and a delicious variety of meats. The new location at the old McCormick n Schmidt's restaurant in Bridgeport mall. There is a shared parking lot with plenty of parking. The servers come around and bring large meat on skewers and slice it at your table in which you grab with your pinchers. The Brazilian cheesy bread popovers are the best. This is definitely a great location instead of driving into Portland for us.

We were celebrating my wife's cousin's birthday. El Gaucho restaurant is located on the street level of The Benson Hotel on SW Broadway. You have the option to valet your car or right across the street you will find a local parking lot or if you are lucky you can search for street parking. As you walk in you are greeted by a door man, the staff we interacted with were over the top friendly and engaging. The interior is swanky with a wood tone, white tablecloths but not stuffy. We were seated quickly. The booth was on the street side wall near the bar area with open seating in the middle of the space, but know that the booth was a snug fit, in our next visit we will see if we can reserve an open table for a little more elbow room. This aside, you are entertained by the staff's theatrics around the old school serving theater, the flaming sword brochette is worth the view. They also had live music that gave that extra touch an ambiance. Our food, wow, you know the saying, you get what you pay for, well it was worth every cent. We ordered the Prawn Linguine, very ample serving of Linguine and very tasteful Prawns, we shared the wedge salad, it was very well prepared, I had the 14oz Peppercorn, New York Steak with a side order of the Wicked Shrimp, large Prawns sautéed in a spicy sauce, (its spicy) so beware, I loved them even with the kick. Our party also ordered the Standard 14oz New York, with sautéed mushrooms and spicy Brussel Sprouts. On top of all of this great food, we enjoyed the garlic toast, its amazingly tasty. We washed it all down with a 2014 Tempranillo-Malbec, a perfect red wine from our family members collection. If you have not experienced El Gaucho, don't wait too long, you are missing out.

I had the best tableside salad here last year, and our waiter even personalized it by adding extra garlic. Unfortunately, things fell short during my most recent visit. The salad this time was very bland and barely garlicky, even though we specifically asked for extra garlic. Last year I didn't get a chance to try their off-menu porterhouse and was planning to order it this time. Unfortunately, they no longer offer it. The only off-menu option now is a sampler of three different cuts for over $100, which isn't worth it to me. I ended up going with the ribeye cooked medium rare as usual, but it was surprisingly chewy this time and even made my gums bleed a bit. One small thing I wish they would change: at other locations, the personalized menu is kept in a plastic sleeve, but here they roll it up and tie it with a ribbon. A common issue I've experienced at El Gaucho most of the time is that when the server pours water, it often drips onto the personalized menu. I hope they can be more careful since it gets messy and ruins something many guests like to keep as a souvenir. There has also been a huge price increase across the menu since my visit last year.

I was absolutely in food heaven here. We made a reservation in advance, and wow, I'm so glad we…read moredid! We were provided with complimentary tomato bisque in cute little cups to start off the meal. It had a nice, light spicy kick that immediately got things going. We ordered the clam chowder with bone marrow, and this was absolutely the best clam chowder we have ever had. The dish comes with a cooked bone marrow on top that you're meant to scrape into the chowder, along with five medium clams still in their shells. Remove everything from the shells, scrape that glorious bone marrow into the chowder, and give it a really good stir. Keep the bone in the bowl for the extra flavor. Then enjoy what might be the best clam chowder of your life. We also ordered the beef tongue, which was another amazing appetizer. The combination of horseradish, tiny potato salad, capers, crispy little pork rind pieces, and the sauce on top of the beef tongue was SO flavorful. I was, indeed, back in divine food heaven. For our entrees and sides, we ordered the green beans, skirt steak, and pork chop. The green beans had an Asian-inspired preparation with fish sauce, cashews, and Thai basil. They were incredibly flavorful, with the Thai basil adding a nice freshness. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked to medium and seasoned beautifully with smoky flavors. The accompanying chimichurri added a fresh, herby contrast. And then there was the pork chop, which was a hugeeeee surprise! Our waitress told us it was one of their most popular dishes, and now I understand why. It was huge, perfectly cooked, beautifully grilled, and served with a slightly sweeter sauce that worked so well with the pork. We ended the meal with sorbet, which was fantastic and a refreshing way to finish everything. My life is complete!

Consistently one of my favorite restaurants because of their incredible quality, flavors (Spanish,…read moreFrench, Italian-influenced Argentinian fare), and atmosphere - this was a new experience with take-out, some of the finest to be found. Authors & James Beard award-winning Chefs Gabrielle Quiñónez & Greg Denton have honed Portland's love of all things local (seasonal & freshly sourced ingredients) within a menu that maintains integrity across seasons. Whether seated "around the (wood) fire" with their massive custom grill, in the atrium, at the bar top, booth, back oyster bar, private dining, or (more recently) a vined patio - every area is primed for new and wonderful memories. Their wine program (although abbreviated) is one of my favorite in the city, heavy on Willamette picks but rounded with exquisite (but generally affordable) European & South American bottles. I sampled five courses, for take-out this visit - overall (service/ambiance, along with food degradation during transport), I'd give 3 stars, but across multiple visits (otherwise dine-in), restaurant maintains 4 stars. Servers are taking the stars for service. A favorite of mine, their BELGIAN ENDIVE SALAD is seasonally updated with cherries/sweet atop the usual endive/bitter, bleu/tart/smooth, and the texture is something fun with candied pecans & mild vinaigrette (buttery EVOO) blending with each electrifying bite. This presentation was not its freshest (endive), but could have turned during transportation. The reason I'll keep coming back: CLAM CHOWDER w SMOKED MARROW BONE is similarly elemental - each ingredient shining in its own right, but symphonic altogether. The soup itself is thin - not too filling, but incredibly rich in flavor (a touch of white wine? maybe B&W pepper?), showcasing large delicately cooked clams & melted marrow that seasons tiny cubed carrots & potatoes, onion & pork - sliced jalapeño leaves a back-end heat that's lasting & warm. This is the place you order a meat with some fat on it, so bring some friends and plan for sharing. Anything cooked on the Ann Arbor grill is better-than-basic, but I'd rather a filet that's pan-seared & oven-finished (although DO ASK for their signature Bordelaise, which is a gorgeous compliment to steak with red wine, and counterpoint to their exceptional chimichurri). To pair - FRIED RUSSET POTATOES - rustic, not a touch overcooked, but entirely original & delicious with their with horseradish aioli + dash of dill. Flavors are vaguely familiar, like an avant-garde ranch - always on-point. Dessert was SUBLIME - if only I recalled this little slice of buckwheat-toffee-cake's name. Ice cream took the heat during travel, but I imagine it's even better at the source. Points lost on service during carry-out, next time I'll send a representative.

Enticed by all the good reviews for this place and a hankering for Latin American food, I needed to…read morecheck them out. They're quiet on a Friday afternoon. Their space is very colorful and has a lot of fun energy. Their menu is pretty focused but the items all sound very tasty. We went with an Empanada of the day, The Cubano, and the Bandeja. Their focused menu certainly paid off when you see how fresh and well-executed their dishes were. The empanada of the day was a mushroom and cheese. It's made fresh so the cheese was nice and gooey. Their crust is different from what I'm used to. It seems to be a mix of maize and cornmeal rather than flour. I think it gave a nice crunchy crust and slightly chewy inside. A bit small for the price though. The Cubano was again made fresh. Bread was nice and crispy. Inside was filled with hearty meat and cheese. A solid sandwich, especially when paired with their pico de gallo. The start of the meal was easily the Bandeja. You can choose between chicken and flat iron steak for the Bandeja; we went with the steak and we weren't disappointed. It's cooked medium-rare, making the steak super tender. The outside crust was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Plato came with a lot of other tasty things like a perfect over-easy egg, rice and beans, avocado, and the best chicharron I've had. It's small but packed a punch. The outside was crispy all around while the fat layer was still melt-in-your-mouth soft. This dish had everything, perfect for sharing. The staff were attentive and friendly. Happy hour is from 3-5PM on weekdays. All in all, we had an amazing meal and will be spreading the word of their goodness for sure.

STOP. Come here IMMEDIATELY. I popped in for brunch on a Sunday, no wait, Sat right at the bar. Vibrant bright sun filling the place, upbeat tunes playing. Handful of tables occupied. The vibes were 10/10 I pulled up a barstool and the menu had a lot of solid, tempting options. I went with a pressed Cuban sandwich topped with fried egg, bacon strips, hollandaise and sliced avocado. Had a beer and a shit, tasty. It was PERFECT. I'm coming back again, frequently, before this place POPS OFF. Gotta be a regular for me going forward. It is just GREAT!!!

If you're looking for authentic Colombian food like arepas and pandebonos, this is the place!…read more I absolutely loved it. We're from California, but we came to Portland and honestly, we haven't even found Colombian food this delicious back in California. Everything was so authentic, fresh, and flavorful. Definitely one of the best Colombian food spots we've ever tried. Highly recommend!

Was lucky enough to get help from Martin in terms of what to order…read more We got: two vegan options (campesino and vegetable). To that, we added chicken (extremely popular with the crowd) cheese (also popular, though not as popular as the chicken), plus passonfruit, lulo, and blackberry juices at 25% sweetness. We got the juices to mix with fizzy water for people who wanted a non-alcoholic cocktail experience, but saw them going into a lot of alcoholic cocktails by the end of the evening. I found the crispy corn exterior of the Colombian empanada to be a vast improvement over other variations, which are a bit too blah and doughy. Their cilantro sauce was perfection and much less oily than the standard. Individual sizes are generous. Unless you have a very hungry crowd and no sides, 2 empanadas per person will probably be more than enough. We froze the leftover empanadas and they are still delicious weeks later. In short: Absolutely perfect for catering an event.
