Lots of great frames, friendly staff- and their repair of my inexpensive sunglasses is a real bargain.

This may be the nicest frame shop I've ever been to What I appreciate most is their honesty. They recently saved me a significant amount of money by advising against anti-reflective coating after I mentioned my frustration with smudging. Most shops would just take the upsell, but Karen and Aimee actually care.

Okay, first of all can I just say how wonderful Aimee and Karen are? They're an absolute joy of a…read moreteam and I love spending time with them talking about anything and everything! I've been going to The Optician since 2018 and my god it has changed my life and how I've viewed glassesware! I didnt even realize that glasses needed to be adjusted to your own face and the amount of comfort it gives you over the entire day, amazing! I never feel fatigued after adjustments done to my frames with them. Simply amazing. I have about 10 pairs of glasses with them now and have brought most people I know who wear glasses into the store for a new pair or two or three of glasses and the level of care and attention to detail to everyone I bring and myself is so above and beyond with what I've gotten in the past before I found The Optician. They not only help guide what looks good on you but also listen to the comfort/needs of the client in such a nuanced way that really lets the person pick what they feel the best in! Not to mention the unbridled enthusiasm when someone finds a pair that they're so in love with is just... chef's kiss moment! Honestly can't wait to start shopping for a new pair every year :)

It weighs only 2.5 grams, and is thus officially the world's lightest frames. C2020 sent it to the lab specifically authorized by the frame manufacturer itself, to have prescription lenses installed. C2020 also clearly instructed the lab to make no modification to the temples. Yet, (the lab technician must have been new to the job) the lab technician literally melted the temples into pretzel-like twisted twigs, something you would wear only for Halloween. When the lab tried to evade its responsibility, and attempted to argue its way out of it, Dr. Poon purchased new replacement temples to ensure that I would not get stuck with melted-twisted temples. Dr. Poon then personally adjusted the new temples to fit my head. Dr. Poon achieved a beautiful adjustment, because he was both extremely skillful and very patient. In short, you won't find a more skillful, ethical and professional optometrist than Dr. Poon. I have always recommended C2020 to everyone, and will always do so.

Next, they have really great frames. I've bought some first class frames that were worth every penny. The frame selection is one of the best reasons to go here. That said, one thing I like about this practice is they completely understand buying inexpensive spares online, and they are super helpful. Finally, they are very Covid aware. When you are in a small dark room with another person, it's comforting to know that they are wearing a mask and looking out for your health.

From the moment I walked in, the difference in care and professionalism was clear. Mira really listened and handled my high prescription with confidence and transparency. She took careful measurements, explained my options clearly, and helped me find frames that actually worked for my face and prescription -- no pressure and no rushing. When I came back for adjustments, James and Karen were incredibly attentive. Karen's final adjustments made the glasses perfectly balanced and comfortable. The difference thoughtful adjustments make is huge. Not only all of this the glasses look great and I have been getting complements not an easy feat considering my high prescription. I'm able to feel like me in the eye wear that means a lot to me. Great job dispensing! My glasses were ready quickly, fit beautifully, and most importantly, I can see clearly again without distortion or discomfort. I left feeling calm, confident, and relieved. If you have a strong prescription or want to be treated with real care and expertise, I highly recommend Warby Parker.

Only on Fourth Street will you find hippies with money who…read morethink they are better than you...no matter who you are because you know they are crunchy still and drive an EV. I will never shop here again. I'd much rather deal with the folks of San Ramon or Marin, the Peninsula for crying out loud, shoot even dog eat dog San Jose; just not this location! Let's be honest here, Warby Parker isn't meant for the simple, "I'm using my vision insurance for glasses kind of purchase." Instead, it's a moderate to expensive store for fashionable glasses and it's meant to serve the markets they populate, I'm no fool. However, I do love fashion and didn't mind the à la carte style here, so we bought two pairs of glasses from Fourth Street's Warby Parker. When I found the glasses originally, I was in San Ramon and I was helped by a wonderful salesperson whose name I unfortunately forgot. Once I had my prescription I went to the Berkeley store, out of convenience; big mistake! Especially, since the first salesperson in Berkeley confused me and apparently herself with my prescription, (progressive), and I ultimately ended up with single vision lenses, Instead of progressive. Something I was told only when I returned to a second salesperson in Berkeley Let me tell you about this second salesperson though, cause they were quite rude and judgmental. In fact they seemed to assume I made my purchasing decisions based on cost. No, no, I made my decisions based on confusion! In fact even after a second salesperson and two opticians I am still unhappy and will make sure I go back to corporate with these comments to make sure I get EXACTLY what I need and want. The first optician was nice, but super fast and didn't say much; so I was again a bit confused. The second optician was more verbal but just as rude as the second salesperson. Other than that, Warby Parker is cute.
