You need a giant block of foam cut down into a smaller piece or pieces? They can do it! But if anyone in there starts foaming at the mouth, look out! That's not normal. That's called rabies and you should get out of there as quick as possible..and then go home and forge a comically large foam mallet to defend yourself and your home from the any future rabid human attacks..except you can't really..because this is California and it's illegal to protect yourself.. Sit on it! Last month, my wife and I had Foam Mart construct some cushions for a built-in banquette that had recently been installed as part of a total kitchen remodel. Foam Mart was the second business we scoped-out to do the job. While the first seemed suitable enough, the scale was tipped by the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the Foam Mart salesman, Noel, who helped us at their North Victory location. We needed six cushions - two for the seats and four for the backrests - of various sizes, for which my wife and I made the necessary templates from brown wrapping paper. (Note: Foam Mart doesn't provide an in-home template-making service, but it's an easy enough DIY task even if you didn't take High School Shop.) Once we delivered the templates and the fabric - a black and white paisley pattern purchased (on sale!) at Jo-Ann Fabric & Crafts in Glendale - Foam Mart had the finished goods (see photo) ready in about 10 days. The wife was ecstatic with how they all turned out, and I'm pleased for no better reason than that the wife was happy - a not inconsiderable benefit as any husband knows. (But, I'm also the one writing this favorable review, and that must count for something.) My only niggling complaint with Foam Mart is that the pricing, while not exactly larcenous, did cause me to twitch an eyebrow. And, to add minor insult to minor injury, they tacked on an annoying fee for our outsourcing of the fabric purchase. Foam Mart can, and would rather, sell you the material themselves. However, the exemplary quality of the cushions we got in exchange for the family treasure compels me to chill. And our three cats have since judged the cushions as a suitable place for lounging (and, wretched creatures, leaving fur). P.S. This business accepts only cash or credit cards. Maybe gold coins. Dan was the worst very careless with my vintage one of a kind pieces that they had for 3 months after telling they wound be done in 3wks from Dylan who was originally helping me but we t missing in action NO ONE called to tell me he was gone.... Instead I called was told he was gone and that he did not process my complete order... causing the huge delay... at that time lazy Dan steps in and does absolutely nothing Two months later. I received only 1/2 of my order... Dan was so irresponsible and extremely careless with my situation. I mentioned to him several times over the two months of dealing with him or not dealing with him....I needed my pieces Done I. The three wk period he said it would even with all those mistakes he had the nerve to try to turn it around on me... Unbelievable.... He was so adamant about me not getting my one of a kind cushions he had to copy for 3 months I even had a templet for them... He would not call the seamstress or expedite the order or something. Instead he shrugs his shoulders. I lost it.. I sent emails several with no response.. which provoked me to call with no success he was not ever available until I called again with a different name and the clerk gave him the phone this kind of behavior needs to end... I had to insist they find my cushions that are very unusual and not cheap... order for dan or the manager Angie who must be related because it seemed like it was all fine ... As if this happens all the time.... I had to start speaking load and letting the one customer in the shop know my experience after suggesting to Dan to please call and find my pieces. Several times his response was I can't get it today .... I had a photo shoot I needed this for so it was an all around shitty experience. Oh did I mention the first sales person went missing in action for three wks never heard from him until I called. To do a lot what's going on then it got worse with Dan.. Wow I was and still shocked they are still in business. I bet not for log. With how I was treated.. Shocking Be careful. I felt discriminated against on many levels. Location is easy to find. Parking lot is kind of small but inside is decently sized. I came here to get a 38in x 38in ottoman cushion reupholstered but the price was too expensive and I found out they contract out what you are getting upholstered. They were going to charge me over $325 to reupholster and replace the cushion with cheap foam. If I were to choose this location then I would want to speak to the upholster person myself for that price. The guy that quoted me was really nice but insisted that they get their foam prices just like all companies and said it is the same price everywhere. I thought that was too funny. I decided to go down the block at other upholstery shop and she charged me only $50. As for the foam, I decided to go elsewhere and I got the best grade foam for $60. The ottoman cushion turned out great and for only $110. I will not be returning due to their prices. If you like to overpay then this is the place for you. read more

Friendly staff, good selection. However, all I wanted was four pieces of duvetyne in 5' lengths. They would only sell me one piece of duvetyne at 20' -- got a lecture on how easy it was to mark it with chalk and cut it myself. You know what's even easier than that? THEM cutting it into four 5' lengths with their cutting machine, taking up exactly 10 seconds of their precious time. I would have walked out, but I had already driven for 40 minutes get there, and I needed the duvetyne. I suppose I could have ordered one 5' length, purchased it, walked out to the parking lot, walked back in, ordered another 5' length, repeat. But I was in a hurry. Great customer service! They dont try to upsell you here. Aaron helped me out and was honest about the the type of foam that would best suit my needs. He had me test them out and in the end I went with the cheaper 1 1/2 inch foam. In the end, I was able to get a custom cut piece of foam for small bench at a reasonable price. He also was nice enough to glue together the leftover piece for me and I ended up with a thicker piece of foam for my bench. It was a perfect fit too! The cushions on our couch were starting to get a little flat, so I called up foam mart and asked them about the process. They told me to just bring the cushions in and they could take care of me. I stopped in that day with the old cushions and after selecting the 'firmness' I wanted, paid, and was told they'd be ready within about 24 hours. Picked them up the next day and got them back on the couch. Amazing. it's been a few weeks now and the cushions have settled in nicely. I highly recommend Foam Mart if you need to get some more life out of perfectly good furniture. I'm a little obsessive about cases for my expensive or delicate electronics. Things like camera lenses, audio gear, video gear, and even my R/C helicopters. Cases tend to be rather expensive (hundreds of dollars at times) if you want a durable case and good foam. Most use the pick and pluck stuff that is OK, but really does not allow for a really slick custom case. Yesterday I stumbled upon Foam Mart here on Yelp. I was all set to order some foam from an online retailer when I figured I'd see what LA had to offer. The reviews looked good and the website indicated they had what I needed. I was not disappointed. They had all I could ever need and at very reasonable prices. For the cost of one piece of 24"x 24" foam from a camera supplier I got a 24"x 72" sheet in both 1" and 2" thickness. This was not the super soft stuff that breaks down over time. This is the good stuff that lasts better and is much better for making precisely shaped custom cases. Yes, two huge sheets that makes great custom cases for the cost of one piece for a single case. Now I can make multiple cutouts for my cases that I can swap in and out based on what I'm carrying (I don't always store gear in them). Whats more is they also sell acoustic foam. I have a studio that needs some acoustical treatment and I'll be sure to come here to get those materials when that job comes. BTW, I was there at 4:00 on a Saturday (they close at 5:00) and all the staff were very polite, helpful, and friendly despite working hard to wrap up for the weekend. The other review(s) that report a different experience might have caught someone on a bad day, or the reviewer was the one having a bad day. My son is sensory-seeking and likes to "crash". Tired of walking around our giant mass of pillows on the floor, I decided to create some crash mats out of foam. Foam Mart helped me do this at low, low cost. They sold me a giant bag of scraps and suggested I try the military supply store across the street and buy some huge duffel bags to contain the scraps (because I don't sew that well). Did just that ... well, laundry bags, but it works. They also gave me a discount for liking them on FB.
