I've ordered several of the different weaves - taffeta, dupioni (multiple versions including their tricolore that I don't think is carried anywhere else), shambala... I've found their colors are very true to my screen, the quality is great, I haven't encountered much in the way of flaws, and they ship really quickly. My bestie ordered a selection of silver samples to decide on fabric for her wedding outfit and they were all accounted for, and when she finally picked, it was the same color lot too. Two things that are nice/funky about Silk Baron 1) the 12 days of Christmas limited edition print/embroidered/patterned silks that roll out in December and 2) they have regular scrap sales for 1/2 and 3/4 cuts of basically everything and it's perfect for people who make small items or do things like patchwork and appliqué.

Michael's is a wonderful store and I have used it for…read moredecades for paint but recently they have made the switch from human interaction to self-check screens and its not worth it anymore. There are lots of intricate things that are involved in getting coupons off of my phone and into the system and it is never something I can understand so every single time I have to wait for the one employee that is trying to help the six or seven self check out that people don't want in the first place and it's just becoming too much of a hassle. The staff are always friendly and helpful but they're just simply isn't enough of them. Every single time I go there I stand in line and I say that I want to wait for a human and I offer people behind me to go ahead of me to use the self check and none of them want to. They want the human interaction as well. I really think Michaels is taking a misstep with this direction especially if they are going to continue to have the coupons be so difficult to get off of your phone. I can get the paint cheaper to begin with off of Amazon but I enjoyed the human interaction. Every single time I have gone in recently I have to wait between 10 and 15 minutes to wait for the one employee that is overwhelmed with having to help every single person at every single self check. And this is 10 or 15 minutes waiting if you are at the front of the line. This has been more than one location as well. This is the same for The Studio City location and the one in Encino. This store usually has great sales on the seasonal items. Depending on the time you visit this store has 40% to 50% sale. The merchandise is reasonably priced and can be cheaper compared to similar stores. Recently, they have added self checkouts. They have cashiers helping too, but it's mostly self check out. Employees are nice and friendly. No complaints about the customer service. For parking, this location has plenty of parking space shared with other stores.
