Honest and friendly mechanic! I don't feel like I have to go into too much detail in this review because Francisco already has nothing but five star reviews and it's because he runs his business with integrity and honesty. I've been a customer for about 5 years. I first came to him for a standard oil change and then had an electronics issue with my Toyota Highlander and now I am back again getting my brakes done. He has a desk table with wifi so you can even work here while you wait. Don't hesitate booking an appointment because he's very popular because of his Yelp rating backed by great customer service! I hope to be bringing my cars to him for many more years! read more

I cannot express my thanks to Franco and his establishment for the great customer service and experience I had. Not only was he very accommodating and friendly, but was professional and knowledgeable of the task at hand. I highly recommend FNP Auto for all your vehicle needs (any year, make, and model) from the simple oil change to complex engine rebuilds (he also does great wiring work). All in all, Franco was trustworthy, reliable, and knowledgeable (doesn't hurt that he is also ASE certified) and why I will come back. Thanks again! read more

We were in a bind with a major coolant leak and called around locally. Yes we could've gone to the dealer but we are glad to have found a local shop to support small businesses. I got an estimate from a local dealership and compared it to Francisco's detailed estimate and I was saving over $250, **granted we were using aftermarket parts which isn't an option at the dealer**. With the economy the way that it is, we were happy to save money and get top notch service. It took a couple of days to get the car repaired (radiator and additional part replaced) but we got the car back looking super clean and fixed with a year warranty on the parts. I recommend FNP! Francisco is professional, polite, courteous and detailed in his estimate email. He also sends a separate email with pictures and explanation of what's going on with your vehicle. Thanks guys! read more

Francisco is great! Super nice and trustable. He is the mechanic equivalent of what a primary care doctor is suppose to be. He is thorough when working on my car. He performed a full assessment on my car, wrote up a list of priorities, and worked with me to see what I could get done. I loved that he provided photos of everything and samples from my car and compared that to how a car. He explained everything to me and was able to dumb it down for me. Definitely recommend Francisco for your car needs! read more

Fortunately, my fiancé's brother recommended FNP to us last year. We took our cars here a couple of times for an oil change and scheduled maintenance. Francisco is very personable and takes the time to thoroughly explain everything that will be done to your car as well as further recommended services (no pressure), with images to back it all up. Quality of work is top notch, customer service is excellent, and prices are very reasonable. Recently, my car had engine trouble. I had it towed to his shop and he was more than willing to accommodate. My car was there for one whole week. He explained what was wrong, their repair plan and even gave me an estimate over the phone, emailed me the invoice, and had me approve/authorize before they began the repair process. And he made sure to send me updates everyday. I was so worried the whole week about my car, but his daily updates put me at ease. When I finally came by to pick up my car, mind you I live over 30 miles away, the engine ran beautifully, and sounded good as new. I highly recommend FNP Auto if you're looking for high quality and honest service. Thank you, FNP! TLDR: car engine crapped out, had it towed to FNP, they did an excellent job repairing it, car is now in great shape, and I am one happy and loyal customer! Bonus: $10 off service(s) greater than $60 if you check in. Francisco will even REMIND you to check in! 10/10 would go again! read more

The Good: Honest person making a honest living doing what he loves to do. Francisco and Pearl are the F and P in FNP. I don't trust mechanics unless I can see what they are doing and they have a open garage and I can sometimes sneak a peak, heck Francisco will take me back and show me what's wrong and what might go wrong. He doesn't talk down to me because I don't know jack about cars or in this case trucks. He also will spend time answering my questions, which I have a ton of. The Bad: I think it's only him and maybe another mechanic at the shop so it's best to setup an appointment. The Ben: Francisco asked me how my wiper blades were doing and I thought, okay he's trying to sell me on things I don't need to make a quick buck. He looked at them and told me they were fine, I'm thinking okay maybe not, turns out I was the 300th customer and won a free pair of wiper blades.....score. Might not be the best price in town, but I feel he's honest and charges a fair price, just do some quick research before you go in and you'll be in good hands. read more

My first time coming to Fnp auto was my senior year in high school. (2015) I came in to get my ac repaired on my civic and was hoping they could help me out. Francisco the owner did that and more. The way he runs his business is something I've never seen before from a mechanic. He fixed the ac better than it was ever before and he did a computer inspection on the car and visual inspection and he sent me pictures and markups that could be worked on on the car and I was amazed with the detail of work that he does. To this day the quality of his work has only gotten better. It's very hard to trust mechanics that's not something you have to worry about here. You will immediately feel very welcomed and can really trust fnp auto to take care of all your auto needs. I'm glad there's still businesses out there that truly care about the customers and it reflects in his business thank you so much! read more

NOTE: They offer a stamp card for oil changes!!! So cool! Calling all ladies, calling all ladies!!! Ever decided to go to an auto shop by yourself and find out later that you've been cheated by the mechanic just because you are girl and you went to the shop alone? Well, guess what?! FnP does not do that!!! You can't find any honest mechanic out there in the world except for Francisco! He treats all his clients with the utmost respect and care that a dedicated Catholic would give to the Pope. [NOTE: In the waiting room, you have coffee, water, and snacks to enjoy while waiting.] I first came with my boyfriend because he had to get an oil change, and I was so amazed by FnP's performance and service that I just had to pick up the phone and make an appointment for an oil change there myself. [TIP: Call to make an appointment ahead of time because the place can get pretty busy.] Not only that, you can tell how passionate and knowledgeable he is about cars after just getting to know him. If you've ever heard of over-achieving students, well guess what, Francisco is an over-achieving mechanic! For your first visit, FnP carries out a lot of extra services for their client's benefit (i.e. check the battery life, check the brake fluid, gives a full analysis of how your car is doing overall, etc.). And by the end of your visit, he will give you a full print out of all the information he has collected regarding the health of your car--the data sheet is extremely informative and specific. [TIP: "Check in" and get a small discount for your visit.] That isn't the only reason why Francisco is an over-achiever. He offers open communication between himself and his clients whenever possible and tries his best to assist his client(s) the best he can. For example, he's emailed me regarding price quotes for services/repairs my car would need in the future and even gives me helpful tips on how to go about selling my car (I'm in the midst of selling my car used after fixing some mechanical issues first). His email even included pictures of my engine of parts I would have to replace in the future. Overall, I am definitely going back to FnP for all my auto needs, I can guarantee that (have an appointment with them in two weeks already). Once again, I would like to thank all those working at FnP for existing and offering us clients out there a safe and honest place to bring in our cars. I highly recommend this place for all their quality of service. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with them now! read more

Francisco is very knowledgeable and he will take the time to help you understand what is best for your car. He explained and showed me pictures of my car that had issues, but thankfully I am still under warranty so need to go get that taken care of. A very honest man! Something that's very hard to find in a mechanic. I got my oil changed here 2 times so far and loved the service everytime. They have the best prices on oil change and on top of that they give you an extra $10 off! I will be coming here for all my car maintenance from now on and hopefully it will be as awesome and easy as my oil change. :) read more

Long overdue review. Had to dig up my Yelp login and it's all good because it's for a good cause. My wife attended a Yelp event here and we took the car in the following Saturday for a check-up. Francisco was very professional and handled our concerns very well. He explained to us what needed to be done and what we can expect. I'm not much of a car person but my wife is and she is in car club for both of our cars. I'm playing catch up and trying to learn more and going to FNP definitely helps. The service is very personal. We got our registration renewal (with smog testing requirement) about the same time the car was due for the 95k service. I scheduled an appointment over the phone, came in, got the service, and received a recommendation on where to get the car smogged. Francisco also made some recommendations and promptly emailed us a quote. It's not in our budget however so it will likely have to wait. Anyway, we definitely would be coming back here for regular maintenance services. Highly recommended for those with little car know how or to anyone tired of paying dealer prices for routine services. read more

When my car finally broke down after 250,000 miles, FNP was there. In addition to a free inspection (diagnosis: not worth fixing), they helped arrange a car donation with Make-a-Wish. (I was planning on donating the car in December anyway.) Very professional and friendly outfit. Thanks for doing me a favor, FNP! read more

At last, I have found it. I found an honest-to-goodness, trustworthy, and friendly local auto repair and maintenance shop after many years of looking. FnP Auto and its proprietors Francisco and Pearl fit that bill exactly when I brought my car in for service today. I took my 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan in for its 90,000 mile service. Rather than taking it to the dealer (which i have been shamingly doing for the past several years due to not finding that trustworthy local shop), I fired up the Yelp app and discovered this place only 3.3 miles from my home. Five stars and over 100 reviews can't be wrong. I emailed Francisco asking for a quote and he came back right away with a detailed, computer-generated quote of the services that I requested, impressive. He even revised it for me when I had to remove a couple of things due to budgetary constraints. Fast forward to today, I bring my car in right when they opened (and they accommodated me at the last minute because I couldn't take in my other car for its appointment) and I was greeted by both Francisco and Pearl and their very friendly dogs Nigel and Bella. I instantly felt at home in their shop, with its homely and cozy waiting room. After filling out a form, I gave the keys to Francisco and off I went. I was there for only about 5 minutes. After a whole day with my family driving around L.A. and Chinatown, I get a call from Francisco around 4:45 p.m. saying that my G35 was ready. I arrive at his shop half an hour later and waiting for me was one of the most pleasant surprises I have ever experienced dealing with a mechanic. Francisco sat me down and patiently explained to me what they did today, as well as issues that they discovered. While doing so, he showed me photographs of said issues (with different angles) and explained, in layman's terms, what the issues were and whether they needed to be fixed right now or later. I never, ever felt sales pressure as I did when I dealt with the Infiniti dealer. Speaking with Francisco was like speaking to a long time buddy who happens to know a heckuva lot about cars. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place. I love supporting local small businesses and FnP Auto is a shining example of one. If you have been looking for that mechanic and shop that you could entrust your vehicles to, look no further. To me, discovering FnP Auto and meeting Francisco and Pearl was like finding that elusive four-leaf clover. I need not search any longer. read more

I can't possibly say enough good, wonderful, awesome things about this business. But I'll try! :) I was visiting my sister in Garden Grove when my "check engine" light came on. Keep in mind that I know nothing about my own car, other than the fact that those lights that come on alert you that something must be wrong. So I assumed the "check engine" light meant I needed an oil change. I searched for auto shops nearby and ended up calling FNP Auto on a Saturday morning. Francisco answered and was so friendly and polite on the phone. And the price was right! He quoted me $21.99 for an oil change. That definitely works for my grad student budget, so I drove in. I walked in to Francisco helping an elderly man and I noticed how professional and kind he was. I don't know why, but I'm very partial to businesses that treat elderly customers with respect. I have a soft spot for old people I guess. Anyhoo, when it came to helping me, he answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about the entire process. I could tell right away that he was trustworthy. My car ended up needing hella things. One of my tail lights was out, which I knew already. My tire pressure was all messed up, which I kinda knew too (I was driving for months with the tire pressure light on. Because I am an idiot). And of course, I needed that oil change. Francisco did all these things for me quickly and efficiently. He explained everything he needed to do and it was all for an incredibly affordable price. Seriously. He even threw in free windshield wipers. HELLA cool guy! Overall excellent experience. I live an hour from this area, but next time I need anything done to my car I'd honestly consider driving out to FNP to get it done. They really do a great job and deserve your business! Extra perks: The waiting room offers TV, chairs, coffee, water, and lollipops. He also offered me sunflower seeds and trail mix later on when I told him how hungry I was. And he has a bowl of candy on his desk that I dug into as I paid my bill. Clearly food makes me happy. read more

Can you honestly remember the last time your mechanic greeted you by name with a genuine smile and handshake? I can, because I bring my cars to FNP Auto. Francisco and Pearl Sandocal (F and P, hence the name) are the owners of what I consider to be the best auto repair shop in Orange County, if not Southern California altogether. I've never been to a shop that did its very best to ensure that YOU are taken care of just as well as your vehicle. If I had one word to sum up my reasons for my repeat business, it would be honesty. Francisco is so transparent with his services that you feel like you're standing in the service bay next to him. He takes detailed pictures and actually shows you what needs to be fixed. He'll remove worn parts and give you a side-by-side comparison next to a new part so you can see how badly your old parts needed replacement. Most importantly, he keeps you in the loop of his progress, so you always have a good idea of when the job will be done. The first time I came to FNP, I was so amazed at the level of service that I thought the next visit couldn't possibly live up to my expectation, but sure enough, Francisco went above and beyond. I left my daughter's shoe in the waiting room after getting my oil changed, and Francisco found it, looked up my information in his records, and emailed me to notify me of the missing shoe. He easily could have just thrown it in the trash or a lost and found box, but that he took the time to contact me shows how FNP goes the extra mile to take care of its customers. Ok, ok, I think you get the point now. Take your car to FNP, and you'll never use another shop for basic maintenance again. FNP Auto deserves every one of their five-star ratings. Plus a bonus star for always having Red Vines in the waiting area! read more

I think Francisco is a very good mechanic. The business model is different from other auto places with more of an emphasis in maintaining quality clients as I remember the owner explaining during my very first visit. Anyone who has been here can tell Francisco takes great pride and effort in his business. I've been going here for a while for various repairs. As a financial analyst I work with numbers on a daily basis. I also do cost accounting so I wonder how he prices his services and allocates his overhead cost . I have no problem with the service . I can say with 100% confidence I feel comfortable just leaving my car here, however the prices are just too much. I have negotiated every labor rate, well my brother has . I believe in this world everything is negotiable. Just sometimes the prices seems so ridiculous compared to other auto shops nearby , and the negotiated prices are dramatically discounted from the quoted price. For my last visit, the quoted prices are for cash transactions, not credit cards...which I don't recall that being the case in the past, and I have freakishly good memory . Though I probably will no longer come here, I still think it's a good auto shop.If your not burden with school debt like me and have no problem paying a premium, check this place out. read more

We had a great experience here with Fransisco at FNP Auto. He uses a scientific approach to diagnose and recommend maintenance - all of which he shares with you via email, pictures, and generates costs spreadsheets to lay out everything. He is a super nice guy and makes you feel at home when you are at the shop. He offered fresh fruit, coffee, and drinks! Seriously? This guy should have been in HTM, but he's a great mechanic! Be forewarned that Fransisco will take good care of you, but his hourly rate is not the cheapest option. Personally, to be confident that the car my wife and kids ride in is safe is worth it for me - plus I am sure he would never rip us off! Thanks a lot Fransisco! We will be back! read more

I've been meaning to write a review for awhile and am barely now getting around to it. Sorry Francisco! I took my Mustang here in late August for my 60k service and from the start Francisco made me feel comfortable. He was very informative about what work needed to be done and answered any questions I had. He even had donuts for me when I dropped off my car! My car was ready when he said it would be and when I picked it up he went thru everything that was done & also upgraded my oil change to synthetic but only charged me for regular. Definitely the best mechanic/auto shop I've been to. I will be going back for any of my auto service needs in the future. One gripe I will mention is he said he would research an issue I had with a clicking noise behind my dashboard and would contact me however I never received a call or email regarding the issue. Thankfully I found out the problem was covered under my warranty and have since had it fixed. read more

I was looking for a great mechanic that would really take care of my car and help me learn the differences of whats right, whats wrong, what needs to be fixed and the whole nine yards. Looked on yelp, and this is what popped up, a little further for me, but not an inconvenience at all. Francisco changed my oil in a timely manner, and kept me updated when he was going through everything. I had many problems with my car, a list longer than your christmas wish list. He took pictures of all the problems he encountered and emailed them to me. Told me what it was, and how it needed to be fixed, even organized it in top priority of what needed to be fixed first. Gave me a quote of all the parts and labor, and I couldn't be more satisfied. He really invests his time in his customers, rather than other mechanics just trying to make an extra buck. Good to know there are genuine people still out there, doing what they love to do. I highly recommend his services to anyone and everyone. read more

Went to have my car serviced a year ago and have just gotten around to write this review. Its been a crazy year. My bad Francisco. It all started with a check engine light. Usually for car related items, I would take my vehicle to a local shop. Not wanting to risk it with something as serious as a check engine light I decided to go to the dealership. The dealership tried to use very subtle scare tactics to use them for repair immediately. I immediately felt they were trying to get way more money out of a simple service. After a lengthy conversation, I eventually coaxed them into giving me the error code that the computer spits out via turning the check engine light on. In the end, I left the dealership saying I needed to check my finances. Using the power of the internet I was able to find out exactly what the error code was, the potential cause and fixes, parts needed and pricing for parts. Armed with this knowledge, I asked my social circle for recommendations and one person referred FNP Auto. Immediately yelping the business I was amazed at all the 5 star reviews. Initially I thought this was impossible. I read every single post and hoped for the best. Minutes later I called and scheduled an appointment. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smile and a welcoming attitude. Francisco was in the process of working on another customers vehicle so I waited. Looking around the comfortable waiting room, I could tell Francisco LOVES what he does and is great with people. He proudly shows his certificates and photo of his car when he was more into the car scene. After completing service and receiving payment from the previous customer, Francisco greeted me and told me his entire analysis, work, payment process. Took my car into the repair bay and started to check it out while I waited in the reception room. Francisco soon asked me to follow him into shop where the car was. He pointed out what was wrong and WHY it was acting up. The time he took explaining and making sure you understand is I believe WHAT SETS HIM APART. We moved into his office and he explained the repair process and potential, escalating steps to take should the other repairs fail. He then broke down the timeline and cost of repairs. No upsell what-so-ever. I was, an still am, grateful for his commitment to great customer service. Needless to say I booked a date for the repair and everything went smoothly. The car is working great and would not hesitate to recommend FNP Auto. Prices are fair and quality of service is top tier. read more

Took my girlfriend's 07 Dodge Caliber for a brake inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. If you are looking for a solid honest mechanic, your search is over, Francisco at FNP is your guy. To provide some background, I had previously been taking my vehicles to another mechanic who was pretty good. However that mechanic only worked on Japanese vehicles and I needed someone who was able to work on my truck. The service I got with Francisco was so impressive that I started bringing my other vehicles here as well. These are some of the highlights of Francisco's service that stand out to me (in particular as I drive a few older vehicles.) When having a vehicle inspected, Francisco will frequently provide emails with images of the issue as well as anything else that may be important. Additionally, while most shops will try to up-sell additional parts that may not be required yet, Francisco will typically provide a list of additional work that may be needed at some point, and will provide honest feedback as to the probable lifespan of the existing component. When replacement parts are needed, Francisco goes out of his way to research different part options i.e. dealer, refurbished, off-brand, and has also offered to install parts that I supplied. Also something that is important to me is, since I do some work on my own car, I have in the past encountered condescending attitudes from other mechanics. I am well aware that I'm not a professional, and really appreciate the fact that Francisco is cool about things and doesn't feel the need to put on airs. All of this equates to a zero pressure environment where you can go, ask questions, and get your car working correctly again. When I first started coming here, Francisco was in the smaller unit next door and had time for "walk-ins." Now he's in a larger unit and you will probably need to make an appointment for your car. To me this says a lot about the quality of his service and the way he treats people. Also, for what it's worth, this is the first time after being on Yelp for a few years that I've taken the time to review anything. read more

If there's one thing that is difficult to find, it's a great mechanic/auto shop. People refer them to you but usually based on somewhere where they got a "good deal". Rarely does someone refer you to a place that really took care of them. Well if you've read any of the reviews here, you know this place is different. My daughter is driving a 2007 Ford Taurus and about a month ago, a squealing noise started from the engine. We took it to our regular shop that we were referred to by family and $100 later had a new belt in the car. The problem is that a week later the noise was back. I decided to do my own research and found FnP to have unbelievable reviews! I told my daughter that we'd give them a try. The experience was unlike any I've ever had at an auto shop. Francisco is great! Very knowledgeable and able to explain things in laymen's terms. They do full diagnostics on everything you can ask for and provide the results and pictures of recommended work. Quotes are detailed and listed by importance. He explained that the squealing was from an incorrect sized belt being used. He also explained the rest of the recommended work that we will definitely be having done over the next few months. Great service, great hospitality and fair prices. You can't go wrong with FnP! read more

Quick comments: great customer service, quick and efficient, fair price. It's located in a plaza, and on the left side when you turn in. Service: I literally drove up and walked in, asking if they could an oil change ASAP. When I talked to Francisco, he was friendly. I asked if they could service my car right away, and after checking the schedule, he said they could. That impressed me, especially how they responded amicably to my rushed request. Service was stellar - they said they take care of you from beginning to end, and they certainly do. Objective evaluation of the car was given, along with honest and detailed explanations upon any questions asked. Oil Changes Offered: They offer two kinds of oil changes - full synthetic and a synthetic blend. Setting/Ambience: The waiting area is very clean; offers water and snacks; free wifi. Other Comments: This is a small shop, not like those huge chains. However, what they lack in size they definitely make up in service and cleanliness. read more

In the world of mechanics, the hardest thing to find is one that is honest and reasonably priced. At FNP, Francisco is BOTH. First time here for an oil change and I had the pleasure of meeting Francisco (the owner of this establishment) who is very knowledgeable and thorough when is comes to taking care of your car. He knew every detail on what could be bothering my car since he has so much experience dealing with Japanese cars. He was even kind enough to check for recalls on my vehicle to ease some concerns I had. My only regret that it took me to discover this place. read more
