There aren't many places in Columbia that require reservations but it makes sense for Flyover. Not only that there is little competition for fine dining but what little there is can be found south of downtown. This place is a Columbia must-see! Food was wonderful. Reservation had us sat promptly at the time stated. Felt a little awkward when two parties were sat at the same exact time. Tables are very close in proximity to other tables, but are very long and feel very far apart from your party. Food is more like shareable, appetizers. Everything was excellent. I am not one to like catfish. At all. The catfish I had here is hands down the best catfish I have ever had in my life. The same with the Mac n cheese. Hidden gem and a real treat. First time here and greeted by a friendly hostess. It was busy and on a wait early, so we asked to be seated at the bar. The seats happened to be next to the chef Adam's presentation station. So we meet Chef Adam, co-owner, and Bowen, our dedicated server. Attention to detail, attention to service. And we haven't even gotten to the food. We started with a safe bet in the Wedge Salad while we watched dish after dish get finished for serving. Wow! Wrong seats if you don't want to over eat! Things flew out effortlessly, about 7-8 minute ticket times. Chef Adam checks every plate and does the finish. We dined on family style, shareable plates of Chili, amazing Rigatoni, Bacon Mac & Cheese and Duck Breast on a bed of grits and a secret sauce. Don't even ask. My boyfriend and I were looking forward to trying this new place and we weren't disappointed! It is a unique dining experience so be wary of that when you come. Their drinks are strong, delicious, and one of a kind. I tried the Gilda and it tastes like a perfectly blended margarita. The bartenders are a lot of fun and their drink making is an art. Tried this place for the first time Saturday night and loved it! Very cool vibe and amazing menu. Select options but you can tell each option they have really worked to perfect. We split the Mac and cheese and meatloaf and each had two drinks- tried the nonalcoholic option with vodka and my God was so good. Mac and cheese was probably the best I've had, has a good amount of bacon in it and is packed with flavor. Meatloaf was bacon wrapped- can't go wrong here- but I was pleasantly surprised. The potatoes and Brussel sprouts with the meatloaf were also very good. Overall very pleased with this new addition to Columbia! My husband and I's absolute favorite restaurant in Columbia! From the ambience, to the drinks, and best of all, the DELICIOUS food! You can't go wrong with anything you get here! Our favorite is the chicken fried cauliflower bites! The only set back is that the tables are very long, meaning that you have to raise your voice a bit to speak with your companion because they seem so far away! Maybe this was due to COVID protocol? Murry's had a long waiting time so we decided to try another spot. We saw this across the street and loved the business sign. It turned out that they had just opened twenty minutes prior. The menu was fun and "tapas" style including medium sized portions meant to be shared. Our waitress was very nice and explained to us how the menu worked and that the items often rotated. My fiancé and I decided to try the chicken dish and a meat loaf dish. Both dishes were full of flavor and easily filled us up. I came to Flyover with a group of co workers for a later dinner / drinks. It's not a very large place from a seating perspective. I don't believe they take reservations, and it took quite a while to be seated (group of 8). We went to the pub a couple doors down and they called us when our table was ready so that was cool. Our server was cool and engaging. They have an interesting selection of beers on tap and the wine list is rather limited but it is tight. The food was solid, we had a number of small plates to share among us. Soft pretzel bites - warm with not too much salt - cheesy dipping sauce. Very good Meatball - good Filet - Very good. The doneness was great for me but a bit too rare for some at the table. Personally my favorite part of this plate was the mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables that the steak sat on. Fried chicken (boneless) - The fried chicken was nice and moist but for me there was too much coating. It was pretty crispy though. Mac & cheese - Killer. Creamy cheesy etc etc Poutine - Good. The food was Prepared exactly like it is supposed to be, the service was everything one could want, and the atmosphere was excellent. we had catfish, ahi tuna, koren bbq, risotto, and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is so flavorful with a nice pungent cheese and bacon. Makes my mouth water writing about it. The menu changes as the seasonal veg change. We ordered the heirloom tomato salad, think deconstructed Caprese salad. I could've eaten the whole bowl myself. The margarita pizza looked great, but I was too full by the time it came out. I had ordered the pasta carbonara with the pepper sauce. It was very smooth and yummy. There's a nice selection of wine, beer and custom cocktails. I had to drive back to KC after dinner so I had one glass of nice summer Rose and it was smooth. The service was great. They tell you up front they bring the food out as it's finished - they don't hold prepared food in the kitchen until it's all ready. Everything came out piping hot and delicious.
