I put in an inquiry on a yet another car after a day of HELL looking for a used car big enough for my family. I had experienced every play in the book by used car dealers in this one day. At the end of our day I thought, "Well, I have to keep looking. I don't have a choice." My car had burned in my driveway and was a total loss so I was desperate for a car. Used car salesmen love us Desperates. Then I got a call back from Bob from Truck World NE. He was WONDERFUL. Long story short- he did everything for me over the phone. I told him what I wanted, what I could (barely) afford and he told me "I'll get you in a car Valerie." Perhaps it was my exhaustion or his darling Boston accent, but I let it ride lol. He called me every step of the way. From his private cell. Brian called me every time he said he would. Just a week later, almost everything all set, I set out for the 3 hour drive to Truck World to get my car. I was pumped. Until I got into a car accident just 25 minutes away on 495. I called Bob's cell to let him know what happened and to tell him I wouldn't be making it in today. This man tells me he will figure out a way to help me! He came to pick my boyfriend and I up- at a gas station - I had to give him my horrible directions from the tow truck man. Bob shows up with his wife on his day off! He hugs me and says "what are friends for?" Bob and his wife bring my boyfriend and I to his business, he stays with us while Brian (who is a saint himself and a miracle worker) gets me all set- in my registered car- which they do, even for us out-of-staters, and then gives us a ball so I can tow my crunched up other car home with my new- GORGEOUS suburban. How do you thank two people for being amazing? The car is amazing. The owner is amazing. His wife is amazing. Brian is amazing. Drive the distance to a decent man. Prior to one of his visits I had work done to one of my cars and he had no clue after a 25 minute inspection of where the work had been completed. When I have brought my car in for a lease turn in Dave Matthews (son of original owner) always does a quick touch-up as BMW will kill you for the slightest paint chip. The story here goes that a long time ago Matthew's Senior owned a body shop and his son, Dave slowly took over the the point that he is the primary point person on all estimates and repairs. Don't be confused, Dave has one employee and his name is also Dave. They are very good with quotes and have done a great job of fighting with insurance companies to get supplements for unseen damage before tearing off a fender, etc. He also has a state of the art paint booth and as mentioned above, he is amazing at matching highly complicated metallic paint colors and applying an even finish.

We looked it over and loved it. We bought it and went on our way. Got back to Maine and it popped a code and the check engine light. We checked the code and it was the cat, no big deal as our county doesn't check emissions. Unfortunately they didn't sticker us, and as we weren't going to have the title before our trip we couldn't register and I had to drive back down and have them sticker it. They finally got the light off by putting 02 spacers, but told the inspector who then refused to sticker it. I leave and by the time I get to Maine again the check engine light is back on. Same code, so it is irritating but not a huge deal. One thing I had noticed driving the jeep was a gasoline smell, but assumed it was due to a known jeep overflow issue. Took our trip, got back, registered it, and took it in for an inspection. IT FAILED HORRIBLY. It failed due to the following plus a few others: - Fuel leak from the tank, only evident when the tank is full and the actual reason for the smell. - All of the axle seals are faulty. - Leaking differential fluid. - Leaking coolant. - Broken water pump. In short, we are now going to have to pay thousands of dollars on top of the 17k we already paid for the vehicle. Unfortunately as it was sold 'as is' we are stuck with it.
