It was almost close and I really want to try this restaurant, so I order the biggest fish that they have lol. Despite of how busy the restaurant is, not a single person showing attitude and they're working hard and make sure the customers are satisfying with their meal. I even told them in person that I really appreciate them, because usually if the restaurant was almost close, they will try to rush you and some of the worker with show attitude. So for the last few weeks I've been hearing about this place. Started back in Las Vegas from a couple who was from the area headed back home and from the Pastor of the church I am attending while in Little Rock. They were telling me how good the food is. I've been dying to try it so I had a free afternoon and walked up from the Hotel I am staying at. I ordered 4 piece catfish combo and a catfish po'boy and a sweet tea. They give you generous portions of food. So I was initially going to take it to go but I decided to it there. The food was amazing. I love catfish and that is definitely some of the best I've ever had. The staff provided some of his favorites. The people seemed happy to be there and just made it feel like home. My Dad got me into catfish and I know he would've loved this place had he still been around today especially with the blues playing overhead. Overall great experience great hospitality great food. I know I most likely will never make it to Arkansas again so I had to make the most of my lunch here today. Since planning vacation, I saw the flying fish and knew I had to try it out. I had already picked out what my daughter and I would try. She added the crawfish chowder and swapped out the gator. So for our lunch we had a small crawfish chowder, small gumbo, hush puppies, green beans, and the whole fried tilapia. Everything had such a depth of flavor. I was impressed how big the seating is, and they were pretty full on a Sunday afternoon. I think we arrived around 4. The grilled salmon plate caught my eye. With garlic butter, please. It was so good! And the red beans & rice was fantastic. I was on a work trip, and my coworker had a catfish filet basket, and said it was so good. Fresh food with a great flavor. We really enjoyed the meal that we had at the flying fish. My husband had grilled mahi which was served over thinly sliced zucchini. He also had a side of red beans and rice and a bowl of gumbo. he thought it all tasted fantastic. I had the shrimp dinner basket, which is six seasoned and grilled shrimp over French fries and it comes with hush puppies. Food allergies need to be very careful here the grease is used for both french fries and breaded items. The actual grilled fish itself and the boils should be fine but you need to make a decision for yourself. read more

Service was quick and easy to order , you actually order at the counter and are then given a buzzer. Tried the crispy calamari ( which was seasoned well and very tasty ) Their sauces are great. We also enjoyed the Shrimp and Grouper PoBoy Sandwiches ( which both were served with fries and 2 hush puppies). There is quite a bit of food to choose from. This was the best catfish around for several years. Last few times we have been there some of the pieces of fish tasted bad like it was spoiled. Plus the fish seemed to be fried ahead of time then dipped back in oil for a warm up. The slaw tasted sour our last trip. Not sure whats going on but it is not the same anymore. Had a fried catfish craving so I decided to give this place a try. I love the no frills unpretentious feeling inside. Semi long line, but seemed to move quick. They messed up the gumbo and gave me crawfish chowder instead. I didn't send it back. It was very good but next time will try the gumbo. Best Southern seafood place ever! Everything you order was very tasty, cooked well with great spices. The fried catfish jambalaya was excellent and so was my friend's shrimp jambalaya, and tried her father's poor boy sandwich and her mother's 1/2 lb shrimp and 1/2 lb snow crab platter. All very yummy! It's a huge place with plenty of tables, where you order up front, get a table, give you those buzzers to let you know the order is ready so you can pick up (no waiters).
