Prices are very reasonable & you can easily drink away to your heart's content - without blowing a major hole in your pocket. Food is served: Fridays - Sundays, between 5pm & 8pm. The menu isnt huge, but you will find a range of snacks & main meals - the chips are home-made & a real favourite of mine. On Sunday's - its 'Karaoke Night' - & you can have a go, if you like - without feeling intimidated :o) Kids are welcome, upto a certain time. They also, have a pool table, music box & a regular local DJ. And, from time to time, you can also listen to live artists.

It was a busy Sunday afternoon as ManU v Liverpool was on the television so the entire town rocked in at about the same time we did. As a result, there was a slight push and shove to get to the bar and our food took a little while to arrive but it was worth it. We managed to score a table in the corner, away from the tvs, and settled in with some excellent local ale. The staff were friendly and took our food orders efficiently and warned us that there was a 40 minute wait for the suet pies. We were ok with this. Unfortunately the 40 minutes turned out to be over an hour but considering the number of people in there and the top quality nosh that arrived at our tables we were happy to wait. It was gooooooood food - big servings of warm, hearty food that you expect from a local pub. We were all patting our bellies by the end of it, feeling very satisfied. Definitely a winner for anyone out walking in the area.

Inside, what was probably a three-room pub back in the day is now open and more spacious-looking. To the left and right as you enter there's table seating (one has a coveted wood-burning stove). The bar area which has TVs showing the footy got very busy whilst we were there, so your visit might not be as quiet as you'd have hoped. Six hand pumps including three local ales from Greenfield (Silver Owl was a cracking pint) and Millstone breweries are served together with some seriously hearty home cooked food. The portions are generous and everything was delicious. There was a bit of a wait but the quality of the food more than made up for that.

Located around the corner from the university, it provides a good place to grab a cheap drink and a bit of serviceable grub when taking a break from shenanigans at the festival. I can only give a review of my experiences during the festival weekend (as I have very little call to visit Bradford otherwise), but hopefully it'll give you a good picture of the pub. So, the Titus Salt is a 10 minute walk away from the Student Union or around 5 minutes from the closest halls of residence. It's on the line of shops down from the Sainsbury's and a little further down from the various fast food offerings along the way. It's actually a pleasant looking building and has a reasonable amount of upkeep (meaning it's less.... errr... undesirable than many of the other Wetherspoons offerings I have visited). It has two main areas inside. The downstairs bar and the upstairs gallery (where you can get a good look at who is coming into the pub on the ground floor). The bar takes up the length of the back of the building and they always have a pretty good offering of ale, cider and spirits (as you can imagine, being a spoons). The food is always OK, although they have a tendency to run out of things during Infest (bread and bacon being two main offenders). The service has always been pretty pleasant when we have visited and there never seems to be any problems with the locals and the visiting gothic contingent (although the clientele is 90% goths when we visit). The venue is always kept fairly clean and tidy. In summary... I guess it's nothing special - but it serves a purpose for a long weekend of dancing and drinking.

We go there for breakfast and lunch as they have a wide selection of dishes and the prices are good. The pub is quiet as there is no music playing-which is a welcome break. It is also well lit and spacious with high-vaulted ceilings. It's relaxing and you could easily spend quite a while here chilling out:)
