It turns into a club on a Friday night, open until 3am with free admission before 10pm AND a free bar. You're spoiling us! Although it's a pretty small place, there's a good sized stage, which has seen loads of touring, tribute and local bands play over the years. It's a particularly good place to catch old punk bands there always seems to be at least one scheduled to play here! UK Subs are lined up at the moment. If you prefer something a little quieter than a gig or clubnight, there's also a separate bar at the front of the building, which has some great real ales. It's a lot calmer than the chaos of the backroom and you get a really interesting mix of people going in. Like most of the people who work here, all the bar staff are lovely, and the booze is very reasonably priced.

They always have a special menu and they do theme nights but the main menu itself is quite limited and apart from the roast dinner, there isn't much on there that appeals to me. The one and only thing I've had here which I really didn't like was the steak, it was really tough and I honestly couldn't eat it. The pepper sauce that came with it was far too strong and overpowering. My boyfriend had a different steak the same night and he really didn't like his either. This is a community pub which supports local events such as children's parties, summer fares and bonfire night. They are also available for special do's such as wedding parties.
