Previously…read morehe did something to his reel so I dropped it off at Valley Country for a repair, the staff member was so helpful and knowledgeable of all types of reels, rods, lures, local fishing baits and techniques she totally impressed me. I picked up a new reel since we were fishing the next day at a very reasonable price along with some various other items so the grandson could fish while his reel was being repaired. When I got back in town I headed back to pick up a 2nd rod and the same helpful staff member who helped me with repairs on the first reel was there and once again impressed me with her knowledge of fishing rods. My grandson is 9 and still learning to fish so she set him up with a balanced rod to go with the previously repaired reel. A great Eagle Claw Featherlight, great sensitivity and easy for him to handle, and most of all very reasonably priced. I am a big fan of local small businesses and will always support them, everything in the store was reasonably priced and well stocked. Variety of fresh bait and a plethora of knowledge on current conditions in the area. Thank you Valley Country for all your help and you made a regular costumer out of me when I am in town visiting family and helping with our fishing needs. Bravissimo

I've got a…read moreton of very high quality gear that has lasted me for many years but when I need something, like a recent pair of SCARPA boots, I visit Bent Gate. For many of us climbers, we used to have similar shops from yesteryear, Holubar, Frostline, Boulder Mountaineer, the 'old school' REI and the vintage Neptune Mountaineering, these shops had high quality gear that lasted the test of time and wear. Nowadays, fashion rather than function seems to be the selection at 'outdoor' shops. Ok... there's Bent Gate that still carries higher quality gear for folks who like to 'get at it'. Sure, you get what you pay for but the stuff does what it's supposed to do albeit at a price point a little higher than average. However, if you ever needed gear that will not fail, buy the better stuff for in the long run, you'll not only come out ahead but it might save your life. Bent Gate is such a company that strives for selling better gear... period!

This review is specifically for Fox Airsoft Field. As a…read moremother, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of safety, leadership, and accountability at Fox Airsoft. Competitive play is one thing... Allowing unsafe behavior to continue after it has been reported is something very different. When my sons were playing, unsafe conduct was brought to the attention of staff, including behavior that should have been stopped immediately. Instead of stepping in, taking control, and addressing the issue, the situation was allowed to continue and escalate. Multiple people were getting hurt, concerns were raised, and there was no meaningful sense of urgency from the referees or staff to restore order and make sure rules were being enforced. What concerns me most is not only the behavior of one player, but the lack of accountability from the adults responsible for managing the field. When a business creates an environment where safety complaints are minimized, poor behavior is not corrected, and the people raising concerns are treated like the problem, that reflects a serious leadership failure. As a parent, I would be very uncomfortable dropping my child off in an environment like this and trusting that safety would be the top priority. As a customer, I would expect a business owner to take these issues seriously and ensure staff are capable of making sound decisions in the moment. Based on our experience, that did not happen.
