This isn't a review of this location as a whole, from what i can tell seems pretty good. But I unfortunately did have bad experience. I had an appointment, show up 10 minutes early and check-in. Stephanie was the person scheduled to cut my hair. After 15 minutes past my appointment she is still cutting this kids hair that she was already working on 25 minutes ago, so I ask the front desk person to make sure I am checked in. He said yes and is not sure what is taking so long. I wait another 15 minutes and she is still cutting this kids hair. Bad service. They canceled on me on 2 haircuts in a row on the day of. Both had been scheduled a day or two before, and on my last appointment they didn't cancel, I was running 5 minutes late due to traffics. When I he led in they said my stylist was in back and they said she had another appointment in 25 minutes and would check if she could cut my hair. I let them know my typical haircut is less than 20 and usually 10-15 minutes but they said they couldn't do it. I had to leave after fighting traffic to try to get there. Chose to get my son's haircut by Eugene S. since the hairstylist he went to before no longer works there it seems. This time he had a photo of a hairstyle he wanted, and he discussed the cut with Eugene. The cut went pretty well and then they discussed products to style the hair. We will return because except for the side burns being too short, he liked the stylist. And the front desk associate was friendly and efficient. It's a good place for a haircut. I regret coming here. The biggest regret, however, is leaving a tip like a fool as if they did a good job. The fade looks extremely choppy, uneven, and i am honestly EMBARRASSED how it looks. I genuinely cannot wait for the sides to grow, and will be wearing hats until it does. The young lady who cut my hair did not listen when I said how low I wanted the fade, then when I questioned the fact that she claimed to be finished, she then claimed I told her a longer size, and then spent a much longer time creating her hideous masterpiece, and kept asking me "what else?" I then overheard the stylists talking and laughing that another customer was not happy with their cut, discussed how long an inch is, to which my stylist commented to them that they are stylists not rocket scientists. Asked for a low taper fade, and got the worst haircut of my life. The barber asked what I wanted I said, low taper fade on the back and sides. She asked how short I wanted it and I asked what are the different sizes she didn't explain and then just started shaving. She kept shaving and just not looking at my head and was just distracted and rushing the entire time now 90% of my hair is cut off. Everything is uneven just a terrible horrible haircut. read more

First and last time coming here. I made an appointment online with Lacy at 4:20 for my son. We arrived at 4:05 and she was cutting someone hair. 4:20 came and she was finishing up. While we were waiting a guy walks in a sits down. We were supposed to be next but when that person was done but she sits the guy that just walked in. By this time it 4:40 so we just got up and left. I recently scheduled an appointment online, as I usually do with any place. Since my stylist left another Floyd's location recently, I came back to the Cornerstar location based on a recommendation from a aquaintance. They suggested seeing Eugene. Based on a comment or two here and that recommendation I was up for giving it a try. I arrived form my 11:30am appointment and had to wait around 10-15 minutes in the car as I was told they were running a tad behind. No worries. Things happen. When I was brought in, I was put with someone other than Eugene. Even though he had never cut my hair before, I was caught off guard and it killed the experience for me that day. The woman that cut my hair seemed to do a good enough job, but i don't think the attention to some of the detail was there--that and she finished way quicker than anyone has before. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name, but she still did well and asked all the write questions. When checking out, I did advise the service person that there must have been some mix up, as I had booked the haircut based on a recommendation with someone else. He did apologize and stated there had been some issues with the computer system. He stated that he would be adding a note for future visits to ensure I get to the right person. He was very sincere and pleasant with his apology--I just wish the noticed the person before. Since I am looking for someone new to cut my hair, I am not sure if I even should give it another shot and return to the location next time to hope I get the right person. Honestly amazing job at this barbershop. I haven't had my hair cut by someone in years. I've been doing it myself since it is so pricey at places and some don't even do a good job. I've been disappointed so many times that I just gave up looking for someone. Anyways I was intimidated by the reviews since they weren't the best but this place was truly amazing. My barber was Jessie. She was nice and understanding when I explained my situation. She did an amazing job and will be returning soon! She is truly a perfectionist and did a great fade and job on my top. Gave me a few tips as well in case I cut my hair in the future. I was offered a free wash and massage as it was my first time. Just had the best experience at a hair shop in a long time. Yesterday, I went in for a consult to get my hair colored. I was witness to some amazing teamwork. All the employees of the shop when not busy with their own clients helped others, cleaned messes...etc. Today due to snow I was running a few minutes late, I called to let them know. When I arrived again I noticed teamwork. Deb, did an amazing job coloring my hair. I will definitely be back, Deb is now my go to stylist. Thank you so much. I thought it might just be this location and tried another in Greenwood Village and the experience was even worse. I went to this shop about two months (beginning of October). Had a consultation, showed the stylist some reference photos. I'd never before dyed my hair and wanted to go from a dark brown to blonde. I said to the stylist that I would trust her judgement according to the reference pics and my appearance to gauge the kind of blonde. She said no problem and we did the appointment a few days later. At the appointment, we agreed that she would do 70/30 highlights because she didn't want to "shock me" too much with a new look. I trusted her and we proceeded. A few hours later, I leave with what are essentially tiger stripe highlights. I thought they would be more blended. I paid and thought to give it a few days because I know it's a new look. A few days pass and I couldn't take it anymore. The highlights were so bad. I could've done that at home for hundreds of dollars less. Scheduled another appointment to have it fixed. I tell the stylist I want to go all blonde. She proceeds. A few hours later, I leave Very blonde. Again, thought maybe just the initial coloring is just "shocking" so I pay and leave. I find out that night that I had some scalp burns. The next day, I called to get some advice about how best to care for my hair and the burns. The receptionist just tells me to "Google it" because that is what she would do. Fast forward a couple of months and I just couldn't take it anymore. I looked and felt horrible. I scheduled an appointment with a locally owned salon to have my hair fixed (they did fantastic, btw) Overall, I don't anticipate going to Floyd's again for anything - not even a trim. I was very clear with the stylist that I wanted her judgment and feedback. There is so much damage and breakage from the visit. Luckily, the other salon did a great job bringing my hair back to life. If you're looking to dye your hair for the first time, or at all, don't go to Floyd's. Visit a local, reputable shop instead. They'll actually take the time to listen to you because their success depends on their client base, not just getting people in and out of the door. It was also a heck of a lot cheaper. read more
