This place is great. So I got married in May of 2004, and my mom and I had this great idea that we would do the flowers ourself. Well, the date was quickly approaching when we realize that that just ain't gonna happen. Duh. So we stop in (I used to live near it and have always enjoyed walking past here), and a helpful lady helps with going through the checklist of flowers that we would need. We really thought we had found the one with this place. The people are great. We were thrilled with the thought of going with them. But, we did decide to go with another vendor for our wedding... after we realized how inflated our price quote was. Also, we gave him a try for our engagement party and the flowers were not at all up to par. They used some sort of thick silver non-floral wire to hold together the plain arrangements. They showed through in the glass vases- it looked like something that took about 10 minutes to do. Did they not understand? That was their test run, and they did not do very well. This is the best flower shop. I went in to get flowers for my wife.. we've run into some funny mishaps moving to Seattle and just wanted to turn it around with some flowers for her. Alex and Carolyn were amazing. Made the raddest creative arrangement, did a spiritual healing (to turn around our karma), and then wouldn't take payment for the bouquet as a welcome to Seattle-kind-of-thing. I highly recommend this florist. Not only did they play phone tag with me patiently but they delivered a beautiful bouquet to my friend who had lost her sister in such a caring personal way that my friend's interaction with the man who delivered the flowers and who expressed his condolences was more moving than even the bouquet! Ugh. Called for information because I wanted to know what would be included in a nice bouquet for a patient. The lady answered the phone in a very tired, defeated, distracted tone of voice. She did not seem enthusiastic about helping me either. Her tone was like "well we could put this or that in the arrangement, but I don't really care". GEEZ. I was amazed at the generosity of this flower shop. My husband sent me roses for my birthday which falls right after Mothers Day. The roses were not in the best shape and when I said something they apologized as Mothers Day had cleaned them out and immediately sent over an incredibly beautiful live orchid that I can have for a long time and refunded the entire amount to my husband which was completely unexpected. This place really is fantastic and all those 5-star Yelp reviews are very much to be believed. I walked in on a Wednesday needing a rather unique corsage for an event I was going to on Friday: Goth Prom. Yes sir, needed a dark and beautiful arrangement for a beautiful lady on a gothic themed prom night! A slightly unusual request and one these guys completely owned. For starters, they knocked the design out of the park, so much so that others were commenting on it in the display case as I was picking it up (and before, apparently). Not only stellar work, but they did it two days with just two days of warning and two days before Mother's Day Weekend. The icing on the cake was an excellent consultation and just generally pleasant set of conversations with the whole staff, who were all smiles in spite of mountains of work. Caroline and Alex the shop owners are wonderful at what they do. Their shop is FILLED with the Most beautiful flowers in All of Seattle. The roses are the most abundant with the largest petals I've ever seen. Each client is handled with care and intention just like the arrangements they put together. When I first started coming here I always had a "reason " why I was buying flowers.....now my new frame of mind is "looking at these flowers makes me feel good and I need some in my Life" there is never at time when I've purchased flowers from their shop and didn't feel ten times better before I walked in. I'm not sure which I like more, Caroline or her flowers. You can give her as much or as little direction and she'll make bouquet look beautiful. Her flowers are amazing and last forever. I've got cut roses growing new foliage and able to root soon. Her flowers are all naturally cared for, never refrigerated, and seem just a little bit more beautiful than those at other stores. I don't normally like to chit chat when shopping but it's different with Caroline. She has an energy that's fun and always an interesting story. What I REALLY like about this flower shop is that they carry natural, handmade soaps made by a very nice lady who sometimes sits outside of Ladro a block south of the shop on Sundays since they are closed. This is a wonderful little shop with such a nice, genuine, sincere, and skilled owner. We'd been in several times before deciding to buy our wedding flowers here - and had always left with a smile on our faces - but the wedding bouquets (and boutonnieres, etc.) blew us away. We chose Flowers on 15th on the recommendation of banquet manager Lisa at the Sorrento Hotel, where we were having our wedding and dinner. Lisa told us Caroline had done numerous weddings there and knew the room (the penthouse) 'like the back of her hand.' It was a modest affair, flowers for the three tables, boutonnieres for the two grooms, and a small bouquet for one granddaughter. The flowers looked great and the scent filled the room.
