Flowers By Chuck is our preferred flower vendor in the local area. I personally have never made an order, but my boyfriend orders flowers for me pretty regularly & as the recipient, I can certainly (& immediately) tell the difference between an arrangement from Flowers By Chuck & an arrangement from those "other guys". My boyfriend has shopped around locally in the area at the other florists, but they never match the quality of an arrangement from Flowers By Chuck. Although he has mentioned that the arrangements are a little pricey, he is always happy with the outcome & states that the end result is worth the few extra dollars, because it makes all the difference. The vases are always beautifully full with no bare spots, and I don't know what kind of magic they use, but the flowers seemingly live FOREVER. Valentine's Day flowers still have color & life in them as we approach March! Delivery is prompt & often, same day, if the recipient is local to the shop. This is a very important note - just in case you forgot someone's birthday or an anniversary ;) We've found that the best service is provided when speaking with the shop directly & not going through one of the third party services like 1-800-Flowers. honestly the flowers are ok/average. i am writing this review because i went in on Friday 2/12 and ordered a blush rose bouquet for my wife to pick up sunday for valentine's days. there wasn't a single rose in the bouquet. that's fine since like i said the flowers themselves are generally pretty. but for $50 i would expect my bouquet to have what i asked for. I was more bothered that the woman at the counter that handles all the customers payment/pickups as well as another regular employee (might be the owner) was walking around the store MASKLESS. The least we all can do during this pandemic is wear a mask to protect others and they couldn't even do that on one of the busiest days of the year? I had a horrible experience with Flowers by Chuck when my mother tried to order from them about a month ago. They did not deliver the flowers when they were supposed to and lied to my mother and said that they had left me a voicemail. They did not. My mother had paid extra for the flowers to be delivered early and they were not. My mother was told by 1-800-Flowers that they would deliver the flowers that night. They did not. Flowers by Chuck delivered a much smaller bouquet than my mother ordered the following morning. When I called to complain about the flower delivery, they doubled down on their lies and told me that they had left me a voicemail and done everything they could. I explained how they did not and my frustration with the situation and they hung up on me. I left a Google Review and their response to my Google Review is they hung up because they claimed "I yelled at them" and they said "You need to call 1-800 Flowers for your complaint." I did not yell. They did not tell me that I needed to call 1-800 Flowers. I am also disgusted that in their Google Review response they continued to lie and try to discredit me in their response. If this was an isolated incident, that would be one thing. However, when I told others in Lyndhurst about how rude they were at Flowers by Chuck they weren't surprised and said they had experienced rudeness themselves. Clearly, they do not care about their customers and they lack the skills to successfully interact with them, so lying and their changing stories is what they do to compensate for that. read more

I ordered flowers for my mother's retirement today. The flowers never arrived. When I called the store to inquire, I was told the delivery person claimed they were delivered and it was"checked off her sheet". The person who I spoke with was more interested in leaving for the day than helping and said, "call back tomorrow if there is a problem." I came across Flowers By Chuck only by chance. My girlfriend and I were spending the weekend at a nearby hotel and I wanted to have some roses waiting for her when we checked into the hotel. I spoke to Donald a few days before our arrival and he took great care of my needs. The arrangement was outstanding, the flowers were delivered on time and ahead of our arrival, and she was overjoyed at the sight of them. Donald and Flowers By Chuck are aces in my book. I ordered a basket of flowers for a get well gift one hour before I needed them. I asked for mostly yellow flowers as that is her favorite color. Very disappointed ! I have ordered flowers from 1800-flowers and pro flowers in the past and have always been let down by the actual product compared to the online picture. I purposefully chose a local florist to avoid that happening and was so disappointed to see they did the exact same thing. We ordered flowers for a funeral and we upgraded to the premium bouquet bc it was going to be from a few Co workers and myself. When we saw what we got it was way smaller than the online photo of what they advertised as small, which was 2 sizes down from the premium we actually ordered and had far less flowers. I did call to make them aware and their claim was they added even more flowers than what was required and that I should have read the description not looked at the picture. Anyone could clearly see that it was very sparse bouquet for $85, even my coworkers noted that is not what they believed they paid for. I could have stopped at Shoprite or even 7/ 11 and gotten something far more substantial for the money. read more

Never again - my boyfriend ordered a DOZEN roses for me for Valentine's Day. When I opened the box, there were only SIX. He paid for a dozen... called and the owner asked if he wanted to come in for 6 more or if he wanted a refund. I told him at this point to get a refund. Chuck, the owner, either has terrible memory or is complete liar.. I'm guessing the latter. He gave me a quote for a flower wall for 300 dollars and then a week before my wedding said he never gave me that quote & that his quote was 500. We went back and forth & I told him that if the job required more than he originally assumed it was fine if he wanted to raise the price.. BUT you told me 300. He said "sure if that makes u feel better" - completely rude & unprofessional. It's not about the extra 200 bucks it's the PRINCIPLE. I wanted to call the job off but my husband talked me out of it, said not to worry & we didn't need the headache of finding someone else to do the job so close to the wedding date. If your going to get a job done by Chuck make sure you have some kind of written agreement, actually his work sucked - don't even bother using him for anything serious, besides perhaps a dozen roses. i ordered flowers online it was the "cotton candy" bouquet "deluxe" it was predominantly roses HOWEVER when received it was made of of mostly carnations. i understand if you don't have the exact flowers it will be substituted but i feel seriously ripped off. substitutions should be at equal or greater value. carnations are possibly the cheapest tackiest flower around and i am mortified that i not only paid top dollar for a rose bouquet but that i also paid an additional fee for the "deluxe" and the carnation bouquet was still skimpier looking than the picture. i live in lyndhurst and try to support local businesses but i am never ever ever ordering from here again. read more
