4 yrs later I can honestly recommend this lovely group to you. Every last person I speak to is perfectly helpful & most knowledgeable of their craft. I live across the country but they're so easy to communicate with ordering my mom's bouquets & they never fail. I speak English primarily but can bumble my way through some KEnglish if I have to. However, I find that the person on the line is always easy to communicate with because we are both considerate to each other. Not everyone may be fluent in either Korean or English but if my ADHD addled brain goes too far, too quickly, they gracefully ask me to pause to get someone more fluent to help. It's an easy exchange because they are all very polite & I am very much aware that my mind goes in all different directions very quickly. Every time I have an arrangement sent (even on short notice!) I really have no idea what they'll create. I just tell them colors & flowers my mom likes, our price range & they produce gorgeous floral confections. It's never a generic bunch of baby's breath & filler plants plopped into a generic vase. Every time, it's an original creation & they listen. My mom grew up on a farm & is a lifelong gardener...she knows flowers & plants. She has dementia but these bouquets are genuinely loved & appreciated. The added touch of the ladies writing out a card in Korean so my elderly mom is not having to rack her brain to decipher it, is gold. Truly a beautiful group of very talented ladies. I do not find it expensive; it's a boutique florist. The quality of the flowers & artistry involved in the arrangements is all evident so why would I expect it to be any less? So glad that I came across Sylvan Grace! I wanted to order a nice standing basket for a funeral and it was very last minute. I called them in noon and requested to have the flowers ready at 3:30pm and they were able to accept my order, forever grateful! I pulled up a few photos of the design and colors I liked from their website, and with my request of "more white flowers please!", and they were able to provide an estimate through our phone call. I asked to make it big so I didn't mind paying extra. When I went to pick up at the said time, I was so impressed with the basket. The arrangement was just stunning and went beyond my expectation, especially giving that it was super last minute. I came here to design and purchase my bride bouquet after searching around different florists. I was greeted warmly and the florist who took care of me understood my vision and the price she quoted was very reasonable. She even decided to gift my husband his boutonnière. When I came to pick up my bouquet, the experience was totally different. The woman who took care of me said that I should have paid more for the bouquet? First of all, honor the price that was given, and speak to your colleague separately. That was very rude and unprofessional. Also, the flowers that I received were falling apart. My husband saw that they weren't fresh and was worried they wouldn't last an extra day. I had to maneuver my bouquet around in the photos. I should have paid LESS for my bouquet since the quality was laughable. She also almost didn't gift me my boutonnière, even when it said "gifted" on the receipt. My friend had to point it out to her that we didn't get one. Clearly there is a lack of communication here. Horrible. Business. Practices. Last Sunday, for Easter, we ordered flowers to present at the altar. Seeing as the holiday signifies resurrection, we asked that the florist make an arrangement with lilies; however, to our horror, they had made an arrangement with chrysanthemums. For those of you who don't know, in Korean culture, chrysanthemums, especially white ones, signify death and are used at funerals. We raised our concern and dissatisfaction, and the floral designer had the audacity to say that we were the ones who didn't have an eye for appreciating floral designs. Furthermore, she called us outdated for having such notions about flowers. However, seeing as this establishment is run by Korean individuals, we assumed that they would also adhere to certain traditions. The fact that the designer accused us of being ignorant shows how disrespectful they are. Furthermore, as a service-based business, shouldn't the customer's desires be followed? If we said that the chrysanthemums were offensive, then the proper actions to have followed should have been an apology--not an accusation of ignorance and pure immaturity from the designer's part. In the end, they adjusted the arrangement, and we left with tears after paying full amount even though it wasn't our requested arrangements due to the time constraint. Never mind all that--the story gets better, as the owner comes all the way to our church, and demands to see us about the floral arrangement. At first, she grovels and apologizes and it really seems sincere, but right before she leaves, she utters, "Please remove your review from Google." She also offered us a refund, but at that point, the floral arrangement had already done its damage. Therefore, I nodded my acquiescence, but only because the owner wouldn't leave us alone. Furthermore, it wouldn't be right on my part if I had removed the review. I presented only what had actually happened--others looking to do business with this establishment should know about their practices. Unbeknownst to us, the owner had also taken a picture of the floral arrangement AFTER the adjustment, for the sole purpose of backing up her "righteousness." The story continues to get worse (or better), as the owner now starts to harass me through calls and texts. It got so bad, I had to turn off my phone because she was relentless. I've attached a screenshot of the texts and # of calls she's made to show how ridiculous this woman is. As a brief translation, she says how the review is bringing her business down, how she's a small business owner who's trying to raise her kids, how we are Christians and shouldn't do this. The list goes on--the fact holds, she didn't offer a sincere apology and did nothing to rectify the mistake that she had made, and her employee furthered the damage by turning the issue on our behalf. I also found it very off-putting that she brought in her personal issues--that really isn't my problem, is it? There's a reason why this business has only 5-star reviews, and it's probably attributed to the fact that they go on a witch hunt any time someone bad mouths their company. We finally demanded another apology and a refund, but the owner insulted me instead. It was only when I presented them with a vocal recording of my voice saying "LILIES" that they FINALLY owned up to their mistakes. After all, you can't be so high and mighty when there's actual concrete proof. I think all of this only highlights the malpractice of this business and the general ethic the owner and employees hold. Never. Ever. Will I do business with them again. I luckily happened upon this place one night. I had to pick up flowers for my daughter and I wasn't able to get any where until after 6:45. I called this place, and the woman said she would prepare the flowers for me and stay open until I got there. (They closed at 6:30). Sure enough she prepared a beautiful bouquet and stayed open late for me. The flowers still look gorgeous and it's been almost a week. I'll def be going back to this place. read more
