The white chocolate mousse cake is amazing. We buy it at least once a month. Nice staff too.

Everytime I want a cake made from scratch with the best quality I come here. For cake fans I highly recommend this place they're fast, friendly and efficient! My lady never liked tres leches and once she tried the one they make she's in love now! Good job everyone there! read more

Carrot cake was ordered for a bday celebration...it was ok, if you like a dessert that isn't really sweet. I am a sugar head, so even though I was disappointed, I'm sure someone else would LOVE it, you can tell a lot of the ingredients are natural and not all processed and grainy. One thing I was very disappointed with was a red velvet cup cake I bought for my aunt, who loves trying everyone's cup cakes...why I don't know. Anyway...It was 12pm on a Sunday...so they hadn't been open that long so I assumed everything was fresh. NOT! that cupcake was so -excuse my french- damn hard...you could tap your finger against it and think someone was knocking on the door. Clearly these cupcakes were old and they wanted to get rid of them. It wasn't worth going back to get a couple a bucks for...but hope next time they have something a little softer :) Needless to say...I'd still go back read more

Great mango mousse cake. It was very light and airy. The prices were reasonable as well.

This bakery is clean, friendly and very warm. Everything looks amazing and so fresh. We had tres leches, an eclair, vanilla cupcakes and wish we had room for more. This is definitely a place you want to eat and will be our to go bakery from now on! read more

On three separate occasions I've ordered three different cakes as celebratory desserts: mango mousse, mixed fruit and chocolate mousse. Every one was a crowd pleaser. Real whipped cream toppings You can't go wrong with Flowers Bakery cakes (or cookies and palmiers either for personal indulgences). Do glad I'm only a 5min ride away. read more

So I discovered this bakery by attending my son's friend birthday party yesterday. He had a chocolate mousse cake and it was delicious! As others have said, it's not too sweet but melt in your mouth goodness! I'm having a party this weekend for a group of friends. I am so happy to know that the bakery is only 15 minutes away! I can't wait to get a few sweet surprises for my girl's weekend! The weekend can't come fast enough! read more

Soo delicious. We ordered a cake for my sons baptism. Although they were a bit late and getting it ready it was worth the wait. The cake looked beautiful and everyone at my church kept asking where I got it from. Will order cakes from there again. read more

Thank you fellow Yelpers who recommended this bakery and gave such good directions. It is on the side of the shopping center behind the gas station. I am not fond of cake and needed to pick up a birthday cake for my father-in-law. But wow, the cake I purchased was delicious and I ate a total of three pieces!! I highly recommend this place. read more

Flowers Bakery by far is the best! The cakes, cookies, and gelato are amazing! I've been to gourmet stores in Montgomery Co. and their desserts in no way compare to what Flowers has to offer. The counter staff, Jenifer, Shely, and Nataly, are very friendly and helpful when it comes to making your selection. If you are looking for the perfect dessert for any occasion, Flowers Bakery is where you should go. read more

Flowers is a local treasure. Don't let the unassuming storefront fool you. I've purchased many cakes for birthdays and special occasions from them. The variety and quality is always excellent. I hope everyone will get their next treat from Flowers and keep them in business for a long time. read more

Everybody is so friendly there. I feel welcome. I don't always feel that way in this area. the food is great and delicious. Diamond in the rough. read more

I always went to this cool little place here for last minute cakes. All the pastries were good. I believe that they are better than the super markets, but they need to up their customer service. Last time I went in there they weren't very attentive. I was interested in seeing if they sell any Epiphany Cakes. Or in Latin America it is known as "Roscon de Reyes." This cakes is in celebration of the 3 kings(wise men) that visited Jesus. I called and asked if they sold the cake, she said," No, we don't sell that cake." This was in a rude way. I know that there are other Latinos working there too. I asked her again," Do you sell the Roscon de Reyes?" She replies again in a rude and abrupt fashion,"No we don't that." Most of these mugs are Latin and you're telling me they don't make the Roscon de Reyes?!WTF It's not a hard cake to make and at least meet me half way or something! I wouldn't be so disappointed if They had simply spoke in a different tone. i really did like their cakes. read more

I went here specifically for the Tres Leches Cake - It was AWESOME! I will definitely be back. I didn't try any of the other items, but the Tres Leches is perfect and should be a required stop on your pilgrimage. If they only sold Tres Leches I think they would still be in business. You have to try it! read more

Fantastic cakes. Flowers has a great selection of flavors. My favorite is the white vanilla cake. They have a wide range of pastries as well! Great bakery! read more

so i went to this place after reading the reviews and checked it out while we were deciding on a place to order a cake for my daughter's birthday and after much brooding over wether or not to go to a mega place (i.e. costco) and get a cheaper cake we decided that we would go to the small guy, pay more, and help stimulate the economy and boy did i get screwed...... i ordered a cake with a certain little cartoon animal that says hello to be on the top and all was fine and well when i placed the order, but somewhere on friday afternoon, while we were both at work, the baker decided to leave a message on our home phone saying he didn't have any hello images to put on the cake (of course the party is the next day).... i get home at 6:20, i listen to the message, call the baker, asks if he could make an image out of icing, he says fine but he needs a picture (????) i say ok i can get him one, i haul ass to get a picture to the bakery before it closes and think a catastrophe is averted, then i pick it up the next day...... and what do i get - some silver rat like thing?!?!? i had three hours before the party was about to start (screwed) we threw some sprinkles all over the cake so it wouldn't scare any of the children and made do.... the taste of the cake was like any cake you could buy at a supermarket. (oh yeah, and they forgot to write happy birthday on the cake as well) that hackneyed saying about first impressions rings true and this will be my last. read more

I needed a cake quickly for my daughter's birthday. It was the week of Thanksgiving & many small businesses were closed or didn't make a birthday cake like I was looking for. In any event, Flowers Employees were very courteous and kind. They took my cake order which I picked up the next day. It was a delicious yellow cake with vanilla filling and chocolate frosting (not too heavy), which is what we like. Great cake, good service, and I also tried their cookies and cupcakes which were also very yummy. I highly recommend them. read more

This place is AMAZINGGGG! The tres leches, mango, tiramisu, I want them alllllll! They aren't too sweet, they are just right and you can't beat the prices. Ordered an elmo theme cake and it turned out great. Since then this is my go-to place for a quick dessert

I have been looking for an amazing tres leches for months. i have tried a variety of bakeries. I was so desperate for a good slice of cake that (based on the other yelp reviews) I drove 23 minutes to Flowers Bakery! Twenty-three minutes! Every minute was worth the commute! This is the best tres leches I've had since I've moved to the DMV! I also like that the bakery is clean and has tables where you can sit and enjoy your pastries. Also, the price is amazingly reasonable! read more

I ordered two cakes from Flowers Bakery - mango mousse & coconut buttercream. Both were yummy but my favorite by far was the mango mousse. It was fresh, moist and the mango flavor came through very clearly. It was delicious. I liked the coconut buttercream as well, also moist and fresh. I was not disappointed with either. The store is very small, in a hidden location at the back. You'd never know it was there. I'll definitely try their other cakes. read more

I discovered Flowers Bakery Cafe about 2 years ago, and to whomever is reading this review, I would definitely recommend you give it a try. My favorite cake is tres leches. read more

I get my birthday cake every year here. Chocolate mousse cake is so delicious!

We got Flowers Bakery to bake our wedding cake. It tasted amazing, however the wood post in the cakes to hold up tiers had mold on them and created mold on the cake. The cake clearly wasn't baked fresh if mold grew on the post. Had high hopes after our tasting, so needless to say we were very disappointed. read more

I've had a lot of cake in my lifetime, but seriously, our wedding cake was the BEST. I was looking for a bakery near us in Silver Spring, but many of them were either overpriced, or they were too busy to do a tasting for us. I found Flowers Bakery Cafe on Yelp, and I called just a few days before, and I asked for a tasting, and Eduardo (the owner) prepared several different types of cake for us to try. My then fiance (now husband) doesn't like lemon flavored desserts, but after tasting the lemon cake there, he suggested one of our tiers be lemon! I asked for a custom dulce de leche (caramel) / strawberry cake, and it was WONDERFUL. We also did a dessert assortment of different pastries and our guests LOVED them. Not only was it great, but the price quoted was completely affordable. If you want to get the contract in writing, it's best to go in person and get a copy because this shop doesn't really email that much. I also dropped off a specific handmade cherry blossom decoration and they did a wonderful job incorporating it onto the cake. I highly recommend them!!! read more

High quality wares but hard to get to with traffic and construction. I hope I just had bad timing!

This is a secret treasure. The cakes are gorgeous and delicious and the Mango Mousse cake is to die for

Excellent bakery! I've checked out enough to know this is a fabulous find. The tres leches (3 milks) cake is to die for! Also, the strawberry chocolate mousse is another one of my favorites. I had the strawberry mousse and the white chocolate marble cake at my housewarming and it was a big hit! I will order from them in the future. read more

They forgot to make my daughters 7th birthday cake ! Nice. It was order in advanced and agreed to be done by 1pm. It's now 3:pm and still nothing. Just what you need on a day like this. read more

Three words: Key Lime Pie. Even if you don't usually like it, it's SHAMAZING here. Also a fan of other pies and tarts here.

The desserts here are amazing. You must try the eclairs. Staff is super friendly. Definitely recommend this place for desserts.

This bakery does have it all. Good service and delicious cakes, and baked goods. The texture, creme, taste and not very sugary. The taste is balanced at perfection. I will always go back to them. read more
