Also, a radiologist no longer looks at the mammogram right away. Instead she let me know that my dr would get the results in 5 - 7 days. I've never had to wait on results at any place before including here, but I guess they've changed things over the last year. Update: I got my results and they said no change year over year. I find that hard to believe, considering I have a golf ball size lump there that definitely wasn't there the year before. I called and asked that they look at it again. They never called me back. I called today to see if a radiologist had looked at it yet. And no, a radiologist still hasn't looked at it but said a mammogram tech looked at it and maybe it's a cyst. So, I would say to absolutely never go here. You can not count on a radiologist looking at your scans. Now, next week I am going to get looked at somewhere else because it's now baseball size. North Star has prevented me from getting proper treatment for over a month now due to their slow results, lack of care, and not having a radiologist look over scans.

The…read moreMammographer was very chatty and kept rubbing her ungloved hands all over the machine in all the places I was going to come in contact with it. I had to ask her to clean it. She did, then switched out a panel that hadn't been cleaned while I was getting the scan. I had to ask about that and she just assured me it was clean. I went ahead with the scan because she just continued like she was in a hurry. I'm sure they are busy and I should have insisted it be cleaned. I have low confidence they are following disinfection protocols. I went directly home and showered with Hibiclens to disinfect anything I may have come in contact with. She let me know it would take a little longer to get results because they had to transfer my images from my old imaging provider. I got my results about two weeks later that stated they could not compare to past images because they didn't receive my images from last provider. I don't think they tried to get them. I can't in good conscience recommend this healthcare provider.

I went to Solis Mammography to get my mammograph after a friend died of breast cancer…read more I did it for 3 years and every time it said that I had dense tissue and recommended an ultrasound. When I call the following year to schedule an ultrasound, they said that I needed a referral. Then I got a referral and they still said that I had to do the mammograph first and then the ultrasound or they won't schedule it. Mammographs give cancer, the longer and more times your do it the higher the chances of you getting cancer because of the exposure to to the low radiation over and over again, especially as we age. I don't recommend anybody to do mammographs and they should not PUSH it on women. Ultrasounds are safer and they don't expose us to any radiation since they work with sound waves. I am looking for another place that will schedule the ultrasound without giving me trouble and when I find it I will added here, but since I just got off the phone with Solis Mammography and they were NOT helpful and very pushy with the forced mammograph, I had to write this review right away.

What a GREAT experience!…read more I turned into the place of business and for one second wondered where I needed to go and BAM, there were signs with arrows! The signs led me completely to the front door. Rode the elevator to the second floor and immediately saw the sign where I needed to go. I had my paperwork ready to go and handed it in and asked how long it would be as I had a conference call at 9 (my appointment was at 0740). They were like NO PROBLEM at all, we will have you in and out in 30 minutes. So then I had a seat in the waiting room which was very cozy and great magazines to keep me busy but before too long, they called me back. She gave me instructions in a very polite way and explained everything that was going to happen and left me to get undressed for my mammogram. They have a locker that you can put your purse and things into while you are having your test ran and a handy wrist band with the lock that you can wear on your wrist. Everything was ready to go and she had a nice touch and made the experience as comfortable as she could while making light conversation. Very pleasant. We were finished before I knew it and I was out of there in less than 30 minutes and made my conference call. I can't say I am looking forward to going to my next mammo next year but I know exactly where I will be going!! For sure!

By the end we were joking like we had known each other for awhile. She didn't cross tech/patient boundaries just made the ordeal a bit lighter on me which I appreciated. When I scheduled my MRI I actually missed the first appointment an they called immediately an reschedule for later that night I ended up rescheduling that one for the next day because they would have to be there after they close an I felt bad about that. They had no problem with me rescheduling an got me in an I got my MRI an they all were super kind an were apologetic that the night before ran so late. Which I know wasn't their fault so it was fine.
