Solis Mammography - Flower Mound: My Honest Experience I wanted to share what happened at Solis Mammography in Flower Mound. I went in for my first mammogram already feeling nervous, and the front desk wasn't welcoming or inviting. The way they acted toward me and my partner felt uncomfortable, and it made the whole experience more stressful than it needed to be. What confused me most is that when I brought my partner (who uses a wheelchair) for her appointment previously, they were allowing me to go into the exam room with her. But when it was my turn for an exam, they said my partner couldn't come in with me--even though Texas Patient Rights allow a same-sex support person in the exam room. The inconsistency was frustrating, and this is now the second time we've walked out because of unclear policies and unprofessional interactions. The only consistently kind person we encountered at the front was a very young receptionist. Everyone else seemed unsure how to answer basic questions and kept disappearing "to the back" to check on things. Side note: We ended up going to Touchstone Imaging in Flower Mound, and the experience there was phenomenal. The staff was knowledgeable, gentle, and kind. They worked smoothly with the VA, scheduling was fast and efficient, and the entire visit felt respectful and supportive. Sharing in case it helps anyone else navigating the same thing. read more

I went to Solis Mammography to get my mammograph after a friend died of breast cancer. I did it for 3 years and every time it said that I had dense tissue and recommended an ultrasound. When I call the following year to schedule an ultrasound, they said that I needed a referral. Then I got a referral and they still said that I had to do the mammograph first and then the ultrasound or they won't schedule it. Mammographs give cancer, the longer and more times your do it the higher the chances of you getting cancer because of the exposure to to the low radiation over and over again, especially as we age. I don't recommend anybody to do mammographs and they should not PUSH it on women. Ultrasounds are safer and they don't expose us to any radiation since they work with sound waves. I am looking for another place that will schedule the ultrasound without giving me trouble and when I find it I will added here, but since I just got off the phone with Solis Mammography and they were NOT helpful and very pushy with the forced mammograph, I had to write this review right away. read more

Very quick, very clean. Loses a star because the do not allow you a support person when you're called back for a follow up. And nowhere on the website or paintwork does it say that. Not in the FAQs. My husband left work and drive 30 minutes to be with me for a follow up ultrasound (my mom died young of cancer) and he was not allowed back for the ultrasound and though the front desk told me he could be present for the results, the tech said that's up to the doctor and i guess she said no because he wasn't allowed back for the results. It's supposed to be women centric per their site but this woman's comfort meant nothing to them. And it was a gigantic waste of my husband's time. Really frustrating when this could easily be avoided during the scheduling process read more

It has taken me almost three years to finally write this review. I had one of the worst experiences of my life at this location. After having an abnormal mammogram and utrasound, I had to have a biopsy at this location. I asked the doctor performing the biopsy if she thought that I had cancer. She answered that she was 99% sure that I did. I began to shake and cry on the table. Neither she nor the MA made any attempt to comfort me. After the doctor left, I asked if I could ask her a few more questions. She came back and quickly answered my questions while acting like she could not get out of the room fast enough. Then I had to have another mammogram after the biopsy. It wasn't explained to me why and I was too distraught to think to ask. Once again the tech acted like she didn't notice that I was crying and in shock. I don't remember much after that. I was very upset and in shock and they let me drive home that way. I don't really remember getting home. Its a miracle I wasn't in an accident. Not a single employee tried to comfort me or ask if I needed someone to come get me. I have never been so callously treated by a medical office. To this day, I drive out of my way to avoid driving by their location. I have medical PTSD (diagnosed by a psychiatrist) and just seeing this location is very triggering to me. Three years later I have been through four surgeries and seven months of chemo. Thankfully, after my experience with Solis, I was treated with care and kindness by every single medical professional I encountered. I have warned all my friends not to go here and will continue to do so. They are obviously just another medical corporation that cares only about profits and doesn't give a darn about their patients. read more

I'm here for my mammogram appt I'm currently waiting to see if they are going to accept my medical exemption for not wearing a mask . So far passed to 3 rd person , told by previous people we cannot accept it and are forcing me to wear a face shield . I have been to this center several times with no issues. Yesterday, I came home with two skin tears. I called to find out what to do. I never talked to anyone at the center. I was on hold and when she returned, I was told it might be reaction to disinfectant. I asked what over the counter medication would be best. She said they told her they didn't recommend anything. I could call my doctor if I wanted to. I don't think I will ever get a mammogram again. I feel like I have paper cuts. I feel like I was dismissed and they didn't care. read more

I had a bad experience at this location today. I came in for my yearly exam; no pain or problems or previous conditions. The young gal who took me back to do the imaging was very curt and short. I don't know her name; she didn't introduce herself and it doesn't matter because I won't be back here. I was in pain while she was asking me to step forward while my skin was being stretched on the table. She questioned why it would already hurt. I was in pain when she went to take the image and I wasn't breathing. Then she said 'hold your breath!' I already had been so I took a quick breath and held it. She came back over and rudely announced that she needs to do it again because I didn't hold my breath. I told her she should tell women that before starting and explained what I did. She said 'uh, okay' with a teenager attitude. It was unbelievable. I walked out. Most places advertise 'compassionate care' etc. You definitely don't get that here. The tech should be required to have previously undergone a mammogram prior to administering them and she would definitely be at least minimally kind and patient. ***Update - I went to the Lewisville location today and had a pain-free, hassle-free mammogram. They used a different sized plate and the machine automatically retracted right after the picture. The staff there were very nice. I'll definitely stick with Lewisville next year. read more

I was in today for my annual mammogram for which I was seen promplty. No waiting. The facility is very clean and pretty and the ladies there do a great job of making you feel welcome and at ease. The technician was very sweet and gentle and made it quite bearable. Not painful like it used to be. The curved plastic screen on the equipment is a huge improvement! I highly reccommend this center. I was a new patient here, previously used Baylor in Flower Mound. I do not recommend Solis due to many reasons, first was getting a phone call saying I needed further testing. ( I have been negative for 25 years). They wanted my previous films and I waited over a week to have them sent from Carrollton to Flower Mound). Baylor sent them out the next day! They had excuses like it could take a week to get here because of the Holidays etc etc. Then, they needed my Dr to order the extra screenings, they sent orders out via fax but of course they said they didn't get it. Their office and communication to patient is poor. I went in for the more specific mammogram and an ultrasound. They determined I needed to have a biopsy. This was all during the Holidays, I was sick with stress because my Mother had Breast cancer and it was the cause of her death. I had my biopsy on Jan.3rd. The radiologist said 2-3 days for results. On Jan 8 which was 5 days, I walked into my Dr's office and asked to see my Pathology Report. It was there since Jan. 4! Solis had a note on the report that the patient will be notified. I was not. It seems Solis 's system of getting previous films, faxes from physicians and reporting results has many flaws... who is responsible for notifying a patient. The process from my original mammogram to me getting my results was 25 days ( including weekends) which is unacceptable to a patient who is scared and stressed beyond beyond belief. read more
