I had a horrible experience with Discount Plumbing. The technician, Matthew N., came out to look at…read moremy bathtub that wasn't draining properly. After checking things out, he said he needed to check with his higher-ups for the next step and then quoted me $1,260 for a waste and overflow replacement, since I declined to have holes cut into the wall -- which would have cost even more. When I suggested they try augering the drain, he told me it wouldn't work and claimed that other plumbers who would do that were "being shady." Because if the auger snake got stuck or was "missing," it could cost an additional $3,000-$4,000, which honestly felt like a scare tactic. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion. The next plumber simply augered the line for $180, and everything works perfectly now -- no wall cutting, no extra charges. I'm so glad I didn't let them talk me into unnecessary work. Based on my experience with Matthew N. and Discount Plumbing, I wouldn't recommend them.
