We had them come to clean our air vents. Unfortunately, there was a brand new piece of furniture injured, that could not be repaired. After finding this out, the company agreed to replace the item at their cost. This even further increased the confidence we already had, as long time customers. I had one of their workmen come here when I had a broken pipe on the exterior on my home. He proceeded to put a ball valve. (not make the repair) then 45 days later it started to leak. I called them and they said that they would not guarantee the work that I would have to pay to have it fixed, which is absolutely ridiculous. All he did was put on a valve and didn't even cap it off. UPDATE I did receive a call back towards the end of the business day the following Wednesday from the office staff regardingy my initial inquiry into the labor fee. They had just completed their investigation and wanted us to know they would only be charging us for 1 of the trips and not both ways as originally calculated. The net result was a check in the mail for approximately $50 meaning we were now being billed for 1 hour 15 minutes rather than the previous 1 hour and 45 minutes on a 1 hour job (53 minutes). I'm still not completely satisfied given the misrepresentation of fees during the initial call and will keep this experience in mind, both good and bad, for future HVAC needs. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a freaking joke. Our Carrier Cor thermostats upstairs and downstairs gave out a month ago and we had to call these people because they're supposed to be specialists at fixing these newer systems. Not! They sent one guy out who said that the control board was messed up so they had to order a new one but meanwhile he would just hook up the upstairs thermostat until another tech comes out to install it. The new guy comes out a week later and says that there were wire problems???? We tried to contact his boss but I am sure they knew they fucked up so nobody called me back because they werent trying to own up to their faults. the guy ended up installing some cheap thermostat downstairs for us and said that we'd have to call and have another person come out to fix the wire problem. Wtf? In the end, nothing was fixed!!!! so how are they gonna try and collect when the job wasnt even done at all??!??? they are literally a waste of money!!!! I found someone who is much more reliable and knowledgeable!!! Screw these people! read more

We have been using Thorson's-Norquest for close to 20 years. They do maintenance twice a year and never tried to sell us on newer model. When it was time for new AC, Thorsen's-Norquist did a great job. When we had to have service done, the service tech Brian is the guy for the job. When my daughters AC stopped working in a heat wave, Thorson's-Norquist was able to get her AC up and working within a day. Yes, it was Brian again!! Great Service!! read more

I've been a Thorsen's customer for years, even before I was a home owner. I called to schedule and was told the maintenance is not 67.00 that it would be 75.00. Ok. Then because they weren't going to have anyone in Denair area (5 miles from business) on Friday they would have to charge me mileage fee. You may want to rethink using Thorsen/Norquist as being a customer for 20 plus yrs and another 10 yrs from apartment management doesn't seem to matter. Only the upcharges. Thorsens use to be great! By the way, I wasn't having an issue just doing a maintenance of AC unit. Any ideas who is in customer care and servicing business? read more

We had our main line sewer plug up on Halloween night, I was not able to clear it with the tools I had so I called Thorsen's after hours answering service. They dispatched Luis who immediately called us back,,, and arrived in :30 minutes! The clog was under the street and with the electric snake wasn't able to push through,,, due to his persistence to getting this fixed for us, whatever it was finally broke loose and whalah! Thorsen's-Norquist personnel is the greatest! I am an elderly person and rely very much on my heating and cooling unit on my home. I recently had my 6-month "tune-up " maintenance to make sure my unit was ready for the summer's heat. I'm happy to say it is! I always request the same technician, Ruben, because he is not only skilled and efficient, he is friendly, always asks about my family and my cats, and remembers the services I rely on the most. My unit is working just fine, and I rely on Ruben to keep it in tip-top shape. He never disappoints! And while I'm handing out kudos, I want to mention the lady with whom I've spoken when setting up an appointment for service. Her name is Sheila, and she's most efficient at expediting my service. Since I want only Ruben working on the unit, she finds the appointment slot closest to the date I wish to have service completed, and sometimes that takes a while. Shelia is friendly, knows her technicians, and is more than capable in scheduling Ruben to my home in Escalon. I can tell by her tone of voice in speaking with me that there is a smile on her face, and she's more than willing to look a little further ahead on the schedule to meet my cooling or heating needs. I did have a problem with Thorsen's. But the GM of the company came by personally and made it right.

They installed a new system in September 2021 and when we tried to use the A /C in May of 22 it only blew hot air. They came out to service the unit and said there was no freon. It was either not filled when the unit was installed or there was a leak. They added the freon and left. When we turned in on last week it only blew hot air again. When the technician came out he said we had a leak and he couldn't do anything for us, we would have to call and make another appointment. We were charged $99 for a 5 mi ute no service e call. To make matters worse he said our warranty was expired. I asked why wasn't it taken care of while it was still under warranty last year, to which he had no answer. Gabe was supposed to call us to address our concerns but for 2 days he did not. I canceled the new appointment and went back to the company who serviced our previous home. read more

They're trying to rip people off big time! They "fixed" our AC yesterday, but it's broken again today. They want us to pay them again just to come out and look at it, and they're demanding the money up front! We used Thorsens years ago and they were great. Not anymore. Their customer service is terrible! I just got off the phone with a guy from Thorsens and he was condascending and sarcastic. His attitude throughout the whole conversation was that their screwup was my problem. Our AC failed a couple days ago so yesterday morning I called to schedule an appointment and they told me it would be tonight between 7 and 8pm overtime. I was willing to pay the extra for an earlier appointment. Today I got home at 5 and found that Thorsens had left a message. I called back and someone picked up from their emergency hotline. As soon as I started asking about the call the person on the other line hung up on me. I called back and got a woman that said I shouldn't have received the call and that everything was fine and someone will be by at the scheduled time. 8pm rolls by and nobody shows up. I call back to see what happened and was told that they don't schedule calls after 4pm. I'm transferred to the sarcastic guy and he says since we never answered the phone when they called at 4 nobody would be coming out "like normal". He proceeds to argue with me about how I don't understand their protocol etc. I asked when someone could come out and he replies in an irritaded and sarcastic tone "I have 6 calls tomorrow would you like me to make you my 7th?" At this point I was done with talking and done with Thorsens... forever. This experience was so bad it compelled me to make my first Yelp post. read more

Do NOT use. We try to support local businesses. We have 2 air conditioning systems to manage our 2 story home. One unit went out and Thorsens replaced it at about $8k. They had to come back at least 6 times over the past 3 years from install. Always some "little" issue with labor and parts = more $$. Last year our second unit needed to be replaced and I had another local provider quote and because the service was so difficult with Thorsens, I went with someone else. They quoted less, installed on time and successfully! We started both units this summer and again, Thorsens unit wouldn't cool. Thorsens had just been at our place in May to install more duct work =$1200, because that was the issue. By June, it wasn't better so we called the successful installer. He came to look at the problem unit and showed us the unit installed by Thorsens was old (perhaps even used) and incompatible with the cooling equipment. When I called Thorsens to try to work with them to resolve, they wouldn't let me speak with a Manager. Gabe eventually called me back the following day and offered, "those things happen" and "they could come out and replace" for another $5k investment. In between all of this, our other property required a unit to be replaced which was completed by Thorsens. This summer, a year later, SAME issue where the unit is turned on and won't cool. Gabe offered "factory sometimes makes units with issues". Do NOT use this provider for HVAC needs. They are not a honest business and customer service is not important to them. read more

They did send the estimate after I wrote the 8/18 review. It was pretty late. At least they're trying. I don't think this estimate was done particularly well OR maybe they don't give their employees the tools to do their job well. As others have said, the phone people tend to transfer calls to voice mail, so it can be frustrating to deal with them. I still think Thorsen selects the customers that they want to serve well and blows off others. Our plumbing job is not a small one, and they could make some good money from us, but I guess we don't fall into the group that they want to serve, if you know what I mean. read more
