How it makes me feel
Joe C.

A pleasant experience with friendly staff. Made me feel much better as soon I walked out of there. Highly recommended therapy for aches and pains.

Shawnie P.

This was my first time doing cryotherapy so I was a little anxious (not a fan of the cold ). From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the friendly and informative staff, my anxiety pretty much completely went away. They are very professional and friendly and I can't imagine a better spot to do your cryo- therapy sessions. I've been wanting to do this for a while due to inflammation I have in my neck, back and shoulders. My son has gone many times and swears by it so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I tried this because I will continue to do these sessions to help with my inflammation issues. My session was only 2 1/2 minutes and it did go by pretty quickly although it's very very cold in there. You leave your undergarments on and they give you a robe to wear although you take it off once inside as well as long socks, mittens and a cloth to cover your ears. As soon as I came out I felt a nice tingling sensation all over my body and then felt very energetic for the rest of the day. This isn't something you do one time only, you'll have to have several sessions to get the full benefit from it, which is why I plan to continue once I get back to Florida. The location is in studio city, California and is clean and they are taking all of the Covid safety precautions necessary to keep you safe. Your first time visit is only $25 so I definitely recommend trying it out to see if you like it. I highly recommend this location!

Ask the Community - Flow State Cryo & Recovery

I couldn't find prices?!whats the cost for treatments?

The price depends on how many treatments you purchase, with best price for a series of treatments, which makes sense. Seems like the range was between $40-65 per, but don't hold me to this quote-it's been six months...also, ask for any promos.

I've tried a mix of classes and services -- from challenging Pilates to deeply relaxing yin sessions and sound baths -- and each one offers something a little different depending on what I need that day. I also love that the infrared sauna sessions are set up in your own private room, which makes the experience feel even more relaxing and personal. They also do a great job of creating a sense of community. From time to time, they host special weekend events with thoughtful touches like goodie bags and guest sponsors, which makes you feel really valued as a member. I've even joined one of their group hikes, which was such a fun way to connect outside the studio. They've also brought in guest instructors for things like dance and Zumba-style classes, which keeps things fresh and interesting. What really keeps me coming back is the overall experience. The space is always clean, calm, and beautifully maintained, and I love how easy it is to just show up -- mats, towels, and props are all provided. Parking in the back is also a huge plus, especially for LA. I've found myself telling friends about it and inviting them as my guests, which says a lot. It genuinely feels like a little wellness sanctuary, and I'm really glad I found this place.

After foot surgery and hip surgery, I felt tight, stiff, and honestly intimidated to get my body moving again. This has completely changed that. The myofascial release is amazing--you can literally feel your muscles letting go of years of tension and moving back into proper alignment. The cupping and tissue scraping were incredible too. I walked out feeling looser, more mobile, and like my circulation and posture had already improved. The biggest difference, though, was Johanna. She took the time to understand what my body needed instead of giving me the same treatment everyone else gets. Just by looking at my stance, she was able to explain why I was having certain pain. They're not doctors and don't pretend to be, but their knowledge of body movement is impressive. I've watched them work with other clients, and every session is tailored to the individual, which says a lot about the level of care here. After my second visit, I signed up for the membership because it's reasonably priced, flexible, and doesn't lock you into a long commitment. The facility is also spotless, and it's obvious everyone there takes pride in what they do. Whether you're an athlete or just someone trying to get your body feeling good again, I highly recommend giving Muscle Lab a try.

I saw an ad on Facebook for 50% of myofascial release and decided to try it out. This was my first experience with myofascial release and did some research ahead of time but I just went in with an open mind. There appears to be a small parking lot on the side of the building that Muscle Lab is in but I wasn't sure so I parked on the street. My appointment was at 10am so there were plenty of spots available. I was greeted right away when I entered and the therapist who was working with me, I think her name was Emma, got me a robe to change into as I was wearing leggings. (make sure you wear shorts if you're getting a full body treatment as they'll work on your quads) Emma was very knowledgeable, sweet, and had a bubbly personality. You could tell she really loved her job and her coworkers. She did myofascial release, which from what I experienced, is applying pressure to areas that are tight and need a release. She also used a heated scraper and did cupping on my shoulders and quads. Compression boots were also part of the service but I was short on time as I went during a work day so I skipped that. If you haven't tried compression boots before, you've got to try it. It feels like a firm hug on your legs and feels great! The pressure applied to my shoulders and the scraping felt good. I am so tight in these areas, any pressure feels nice. The work done on my quads was really painful, I won't lie, but it also felt weirdly good. I think it's because I rarely pay any attention to this area. I felt really good for days after my treatment. Regular massages only bring me relief for a few hours so this was a pleasant surprise. My appointment was about and hour and a half without the compression. I signed up for another myofascial release as well as stretch therapy ( this was also half off) and I can't wait to go back. I'm really hoping with monthly treatments, my neck and shoulders will get somewhat better. Wish me luck!

I've continued to go because they opened one so close to where I live, I love being able to walk two blocks to get treatments. But unfortunately, it just seems as though I'm too often having issues. I have a few other Med Spas I go to, they treat me great, I get my treatments, we have friendly chatter, and I walk out with this huge glow of self-love. I believe at Medspas it's not just about the treatments you receive, it's about how you feel in the process. It's about the whole experience of doing something beautiful for yourself, bettering your health, and being treated with lovely vibes as well. You should leave feeling good inside out. But too many times I have walked out of Pause feeling crappy or stressed. Some days are amazing. But other days an employee is rude or snooty, or their systems are either not well organized, or very confusing for their employees. A couple of times I've been told that I have credits on my account, just to be told that I don't later. It just feels like when I walk into Pause, I don't know what to expect. Will I get one of their beautiful, vibrant associates...or one with a bad attitude? Will the information in the system be correct and documented in a way that the employee can understand, and give me accurate information? Will my card be charged in error? Ya never know. Today I got a rude nurse, and it felt like my final straw. A really sweet, enthusiastic employee offered me tea. I figured it's because I would have to wait a while for the nurse. The nurse comes out two minutes later and literally scolded me in front of the whole lobby about having tea. She says loudly and indiscreetly "The tea is only for customers getting IVs and because you're getting shots you're not supposed to get tea, but I'll let it go this time" Her demeanor while delivering this news was not friendly at all. But this, I was going to let slide, although it was embarrassing. She really could have come over to me and talk to me individually about that, if it was even that important... I mean, I can have tea, coffee, and even snacks at my other med spas no problem. But here I'm clearly violating a major policy. The nurse came back out to give me my shots, I only get them in the arm, so it's absolutely fine to be done in the lobby. I noticed the fluid was a different color since the last time I came. Given that I take a lot of vitamin shots, peptides, and supplements, my doctors like to keep up with exactly what I'm taking. I've been advised to give my docs the name and milligrams of my vitamin shots and Peptides, or in some cases, even stay clear of certain supplements/injections. Over the years, the formulations at Pause have varied. Sometimes the "Trim "will have just the MIC formulation or other times it's had B6, B12, or L-Carnitine. No prior nurse has ever had a problem sharing this information with me when I asked. Naturally, it's going into my body, it seems only logical. I might want to know what it is. I asked the nurse if she could show me the bottle so I would know exactly what I was taking. I wanted to give this information to my doctor. Rudely, she told me "We're not allowed to show the bottle.", and proceeded to walk away. As she was walking, I said,"Can you please tell me what's in the formulation then?"....SHE VISIBLY AND LOUDLY BECAME EXTREMELY ANNOYED. SHE LET OUT A HUGE HUFF, ROLLED HER EYES, AND THREW HER HEAD BACK IN FRUSTRATION. Once again, this is in the lobby in front of others. I said "Sorry to make you so mad, I just need to know what I'm putting in my body." I went on to explain to her (and unfortunately everyone witnessing in the lobby) that my doctors have requested that I keep them updated on what I'm taking, and how many milligrams. At that point, she walks to get the bottle, comes back with it and tells me what's in it. But I really shouldn't have had to explain all of that. I have a right to know what I'm taking. And the name "Trim" tells me nothing. At this point, my experience was already completely ruined. I wouldn't be writing this if this was the first time that something like this has happened. But it's not. And sadly, after her outward annoyance, it seemed to have a domino effect on other employees that day, they started then behaving differently toward me. As I mentioned earlier, I left feeling like crap. The other Med spas and biohacking clinics I go to, treat you like royalty. I'm really tired of having such an unpredictable experience at Pause.
