She is helping to make radical shifts in not only our bodies, but our lives (as it all relates!). She is deeply knowledgable & intuitive about the body (basically has x-ray vision). She is not an "overnight" pilates teacher. It goes deep with her, both with her passion for it & experience with it. I truly wish her approach could be as widespread to the masses as the more (no offense) "shallow" version of pilates has become. We have a gem/"guru" in our midst. This is entirely because the owner, Mark, was dedicated to finding the best experience for me given my nuanced background. As a former yoga instructor, I understand that it is a combination of experience and passion that results in great teaching. The teachers at Studio C bring this plus expertise and variety such that any Pilates student can find what he or she needs. Melani, a Master Teacher, leads an energetic, anatomically driven and challenging class. Georgia brings unparalleled wisdom and experience and relentless problem solving skills to your body and practice. Lori is the Iyengar of Pilates. She gave me time to drop in to her instruction so that I could "get" it, which has really built my confidence. Finally the space is beautiful, it feels exclusive, sparking clean (the owner makes his own AMAZING hand sanitizer), and is still affordable!

She was able to bring a sense of calm purpose to the practice that was truly restorative. These days I'm taking advanced pilates classes on zoom through Internal Fire Pilates. I'm so grateful that Erin's Melt Method class has been added to the schedule. These advanced pilates classes are so challenging, I'm looking at the clock, wondering if I can get through the hour. In contrast, the Melt Method class is a Self Care practice. It feels good, and I have no need to look at the clock or push through to get to the end of the hour. After having a baby, I was looking for someone who could help me safely build my strength back up, but she went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did she push me to get stronger postpartum, but she also fundamentally educated me on how I needed to change the way I was breathing. I had visited other specialists prior, and none of them seemed to truly understand the why behind what I needed to do--they gave generic advice without context. Clarissa, on the other hand, understood my body completely and did an amazing job explaining the mechanics behind every movement. I feel stronger, more connected to my core, and so much more educated about my body. I couldn't recommend her more!

A friend recommended private lessons with Carlo, and I've been extremely happy with him. Hello, my name is Uli and I'm a Spondy!…read more Jokes aside, my doctor recently told me that my leg and back problems result from a condition called Spondylolisthesis - a slipped vertebrae. He mentioned that strengthening my core would be my best bet to control for further damage and he also said that Pilates had shown some promising results in recent studies. Well, I'm not someone who distrusts the opinion of an expert and so I set out to find the best Pilates instructor in my area. I used the messaging feature here on Yelp to connect with 4 or 5 different Pilates studios in Marin: FitWise in Mill Valley was one of the studios and I swear that within a few hours of me sending the message, Ronda - the owner of the studio - gave me a call. I was immediately impressed by Ronda's knowledge about my condition and that comforted me immensely. Since then, I've seen Ronda for regular 1:1 Pilates sessions and I also attend group classes about twice a week. (One of my favorite classes is the matt pilates class as that one gives me a lot of inspiration for home exercises, which I have since integrated into my life as well.) Technical excellency aside, I would also like to give a shoutout to all the instructors and staff: they're all super nice and even though I may have had only a very small interaction with them, they all know me by name. Honestly, that makes such a difference and it makes me look forward to going to class. PS: I would like to encourage the men of Mill Valley to also join this studio. I sometimes feel a bit lonely among the largely female clientele ;-)
