At the time I went, there were two technicians working as well as someone cleaning and stocking. I did not feel like she was trying to upsell me. This is even after doing some digging and other events. Pricing is comparable to other salons in area.

Disappointing Experience - Won't Return (Naperville Location)…read more I used to love K.O.I. Nails Spa in Naperville until I realize a different set of nail technicians than the original 2 years ago The quality and service were great, but things have changed. The salon doesn't feel as clean, and I noticed signs of toenail fungus after multiple visits. I also saw tools being reused between customers, which is a major sanitation issue. My last visit was the worst. I asked for no polish and was told the price would be reduced, but they still charged full price and denied ever saying it. I paid **$86.00**, including a small tip, even though the work was rushed, and the gel still looked rough. There's always a different technician who can't communicate clearly, which makes it even more frustrating. I won't be returning. If you go, pay attention to the tools, prices, and cleanliness before you sit down.

The cost was $33, which seems average to me, but it lacked a few things I'd expect typically. E.g. no massage. From the outside, you can't really see in because the windows are covered with advertisements, but once you step inside it has a trendy, updated look. Checking in wasn't the warmest experience, the front desk staff came across a bit cold, didn't offer me a beverage, or give me much direction other than, "Pick your color." I sat a little past my appointment time without much reassurance that someone would be with me soon. Thankfully, my nail tech, Emma, completely turned the experience around. She was kind, gentle, and professional. I had been putting off a pedicure for far too long, and she never made me feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about it. She wasn't rough, carried a nice balance of conversation without being overwhelming, and just made the whole appointment enjoyable. I absolutely adored her and she's the reason I'll keep coming back. The pedicure itself was great, I opted for the Lux Three pedicure, which included some pretty unique features! There was chairs that massage your back and even your bottom, plus hand massagers and steamers. At $68 which included a $20 tip, I still felt like I got solid value, especially compared to other places where I'd pay close to $100 for the same level of service. That said, there are a few things that could be improved. The massage chairs and some of the equipment seemed pretty rundown. I also noticed long black hairs on the floor and small details around the décor that felt unfinished or not well maintained. These things definitely took away from the overall polished look they seemed to be going for. In short: Emma made the experience worth it, and I'll return because of her. But the salon overall could benefit from stronger customer service at the front desk and a little more attention to cleanliness and upkeep.
