I was initially recommended to contact Ehrlich Pest Control because I was told they offered some mosquito prevention services that were more effective than other companies.
Andy Cox from Ehrlich contacted me and we discussed my mosquito problem. I told him that my husband and I weren't happy with our current mosquito prevention service and that we were looking to switch services. I didn't want to overlap the two services so I asked to receive a quote before I cancelled my current service. Andy estimated that the monthly fee for my yard (0.25 acres) would cost between $50 and $60 dollars, but he would have to inspect my yard first.
After Andy inspected our yard he followed up with an email and a phone call. Because of the foliage in our yard, Andy said he would need to charge me $60/month. This seemed like a fair price since I was already paying $50. As long as my mosquito issue would be resolved I didn't mind paying an extra $10 per month. Andy emailed me the contract so all I had to do is complete the form when I was ready to sign up. At this point I had already paid for the month of July so I decided to wait until August before hiring Ehrlich.
I reached out to Andy in August and sent him back the completed contract with our payment information. 11 days later I had not heard back from Andy or Ehrlich Pest Control. I called Andy to find out when my treatment would begin and he told me to contact the Tampa office. After contacting the Tampa office I found out they had nothing on record for me. The Tampa office contacted Andy and I was told that there were some computer issues and that they would fix things on their end and contact me back. Two days later I had not heard anything so I called Ehrlich again. At this point I was listed in their customer files, but I still had not been scheduled for their service.
After speaking to Andy I find out that his boss looked at a zoning map and decided that $60/month was not efficient enough to cover our 0.25 acres. His boss thought that they needed to charge me $95/month, but his boss has never seen my backyard. The only thing he has seen is my swanky neighborhood address. It appeared that Andy's boss is charging me an extra fee because of my South Tampa zipcode.
At this point I am confused because Andy has already inspected my yard and he knows that our pool covers over half of our backyard and our driveway covers over half of our front yard. How is his boss estimating that it will cost 30% more to treat our yard and he hasn't even been to my house?!?! Andy tells me that he will send someone to inspect my yard again, but this was last Thursday and I haven't heard a peep from him in the last 6 days.
Ehrlich Pest Control may offer a wonderful service, but I will never know because there is no way that I will ever trust to use this company in the future. read more
