I went in today, after putting it off for over a year…read more I needed my tires looked at, possibly new tubing. I was promptly greeted by several gentlemen behind the shop counter. They happened to be each working on various forms of fixing bicycles. When I explained I was having issues with my bike, Jason (said the name on my receipt) told me he could help me. He followed me to my car, and as we were walking, I explained I had recently (3 months before I moved to Florida) fixed my tires. Both had new tubing and I was told everything was hunky duck. I had rode every day, 6 miles, back north, and then I come here and my tires don't hold air. He said it definitely sounded like tubing problems. In some cases, I was shocked, as I had mentioned to him I went to a reputable bike shop up north and paid close to a hundred dollars to now not use my bike. The fact that the tubing failed in less than six months was weird. He couldn't understand how I could have paid so much, as he explained that depending on what tubing I need, plus labor, could run me under 50 dollars. I guess that's the big price difference between south shore Massachusetts and Fort Myers Florida. After we got my bike in the shop, Jason re-iterated my options. Normal tubing, which was slightly thinner, would run me seven dollars a piece (I think that was the price). The next step up, which is thicker, is better for riding around down here, as it's harder to puncture. Spurs and broken bottles are more of an enemy to the lesser model, as this one can take the punch. It also costs $13 a piece and I wouldn't have to re inflate a lot. I asked him what he suggests, and he said that if the area I live in has a daily maintenence crew, or I ride around where there could be broken shards, go for the more expensive. But it *is* a matter of preference. I decided to go with the 13 dollar one, as I plan to ride around on city streets and through parking lots. I was then told 15 minutes and I'll be good to go. Promptly done, I ended up paying $44.52 - that's 13 dollars for each tube and $16 for labor (broken down to 8 bucks a tire). I got my bike back, put it in my car, and went home. After putting the front tire back on, I decided to go for a test ride. 30 minutes and almost 6 miles later, the tires are amazing! Thanks, Bike Route; you have a very satisfied customer who will be returning in the future (and referring friends)!

Some dude gave them a one star review because they were closed when he got there. C'mon, people…read more Have a little heart. Actually check the place out before you jeopardize a man's business for such a stupid reason. The hours posted on their website are current and accurate; they have little control over what some other website(s) publishes. I have updated Yelp's page with the correct hours, hopefully will be changed soon. Beau is always working when I stop in for one thing or another, and he's helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Also, he's pretty good at managing multiple customers at once. And Joey insists on loading up my bike for me. Have never had bad customer service in here. I recently dropped off my bike for service because I'm lazy and I like going into bike shops. $60 for all the usual bike tune-up stuff: drivetrain, breaks, wheels, headset, degreased, re-greased, other good stuff. The best part - I brought it in late afternoon and picked up the next day early afternoon and the bike looked like NEW - so shiny and clean. Other places I've been to charge as much, don't do as much and take longer. I'm stingy with my 5's but these guys earned an extra star from me due to their activities with the community: Things like volunteering their time to give bike safety and maintenance lessons at the local schools. One of their employees is a former BMX racer so the kids get to ride with him on a BMX track. The last time I stopped in I got to hear about a little girl who has a permanent disability, and courtesy of the guys at Hollywood Bike, had her walker customized with a special bike seat so now she can continue using a walker and not have to use a wheelchair. 5 stars. If you're looking for a new bike, Hollywood is located in a convenient location on Santa Barbara, not far from Veteran's, and behind the building is a nice quiet neighborhood for test drives. The store has a lot of accessories and helmets. Check them out! HOURS Summer Hours (starting May 1): Tuesday - Friday: 9:30 - 6:00 Saturday: 9:00-5:00 Closed Sun and Mon I think sometime in September (call or check their website) they go to 6 days, so Monday - Saturday. November - April they go to 7 days.

I could not be happier with the exceptional service I received from Carlos…read more I purchased a new (and pretty expensive) e-bike online a few weeks ago. I use it for exercise, but I wanted the electric portion because I planned to bike from Naples to Estero, and if I get too far, I may need some help getting home, and the powered element would help. The brand I purchased, Maui Bikes, was just what I wanted. Everything was in pretty good condition when it arrived, except whenever I would change gears, the chain would come off--an easy but annoying fix. I assumed the chain was just a few links too long, but being a novice at Bikes (other than my Peloton), I thought it best to have someone look. I called several bike shops near my house, and they all refused to look at it because it's an e-bike (even though it was just a chain issue). They all said to go to Estero Bike Cafe, and I am glad I did. I called ahead and was told to bring it in. No appointment was needed. When I arrived, Carlos was really nice and helpful. It was a pretty simple fix, thankfully, although Carlos did go above and beyond checking the entire bike and found the seat angle was off and some loose screws- all of which he fixed. All this for a very reasonable $35. While I like the Maui e-bike I purchased, when I was at the Estero Bike Cafe, I noticed they sell several similar brands, all for around the same price. For anyone considering an e-bike, the best part of buying from Estero Bike Cafe (in addition to the exceptional service) is they have access to all the parts needed- which will be a challenge if I ever need a meaningful repair with the bike I purchased online as I will be dependent on them for parts. Thank you, Carlos and the Bike Cafe, for your fast, reliable, and reasonably priced service. This morning I enjoyed my new bike for the first time without an issue!

Including the original drop off, taking the bike back after a short test ride in the parking lot, and a fourth visit without the bike to ask for a refund, I visited or returned the bike FIVE times for a very minor service. THAT AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, WAS NEVER DONE! For a cost of over $120 which included a new chain. It's too long of a story but neither tech, one says he's the owner, seemed to communicate, know their pricing or their JOB. I was charged $95 by one and told I should have been charged $195 by the other for the result, loose derailers, sloppy brake tension, and missing gears, ALL of which could have resulted in an accident. When I took the bike in for the last time after being told I would get a partial refund AND the job finally done, by the tech, the "owner" got angry and insulting at me. I took my bike never to return and hoping to at least save you from these inept and dishonest "bike techs".
