I am now dairy-free. They were very accommodating to this. The cook prepared the S.M.S. (Spinach, Mushroom, and Swiss) omelet without cheese. Although not on the menu, they offer home fries instead of hash browns, and the potatoes were perfect, some of the skins were really crispy! The waitress, Erica, checked with the cook, Maxwell, with my questions about no dairy before taking my order and he was happy to oblige. This is my 3rd time here and the service is always friendly and helpful, the food always good, and the coffee pot makes the rounds often enough that I never feel neglected. Had breakfast there a few days ago. Breakfast was fantastic, had the Amigo omelette , and the price was super reasonable. Waitress was friendly and the place was one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been to. Going back for lunch tomorrow to try their hot beef sandwich. Would definitely recommend. read more

Breakfast is one of those important meals to me that I eat out a lot. Of all the restaurants that I eat at and there are many this is the first one that is charging $1.40 for a side of salsa that I just wanted to put on my potatoes. I explained to the young waitress that I just wanted to put them on my potatoes like you would catsup but she wouldn't budge. I had already spent $12 on a breakfast without a drink. Adequate at best. Meh...husband had a grilled ham and cheese. He thought it would be a nice slice of ham off the bone but, NO.....It was one slice of lunch meat on very skimpy slices of white bread. Would not come back, breakfast was horrible, I ordered the basic, biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs over medium, 2 strips of bacon..The biscuits were hard as a rock, gravy was bland and pastie..the bacon was not strips it was broken pieces. Won't go back. Gave them several chances. Last few times we've eaten at Florence Cafe (we're snow birds and spend winters in Florence), wait times for food have been excessive (~40 minutes). We usually order breakfast, and last time we went the hash browns were BURNT! Staff offered apologies, but didn't do anything about it. Today my wife ordered the Ultimate Skillet, which was $8+. Her first bite included very cold, uncooked sausage. My wife thought it was frozen, but waitress said it couldn't have been, because they don't buy frozen sausages. Not really the point of the complaint, and bad form to argue with the customer. The sausages were definitely cold and NOT COOKED! Manager's solution was to bring my wife a small bowl to place the sausages she picked out of her breakfast! When I went to pay the bill, I told cashier I didn't think I should have to pay for my wife's breakfast. She called the manager over, who then took $2.00 off our bill! When I disagreed with this offer, manager said, "Well, she ate some of it didn't she?" Needless to say, we will be eating in neighboring Coolidge from now on, which will also eliminate shopping at other Florence businesses. Very poor choice by Florence Cafe. read more

Started out good. Greeted friendly by the young waitress. She returned to our table to take the order. I asked her what the specials were today and she walked away. Ten minutes later she returned. We ordered. My husbands breakfast was seasoned well and good. My Sanoran burger was under cooked and the beans on top were cold. Frys were good. I waited for a waitress to check back with us but no waitress returned to our table. I ate the frys. Husband waited for the ticket at the pay counter. As we left i quietly let the waitress know that my hamburger was raw and tbe beans on top were cold. She became defensive and said if i would of told someone they would of made a new one for me. I let her know that no waitress returned to our table. Giving a 2 star which i believe is generous. read more

This is my second time back at this Cafe. The breakfast is delicious. I tried the Ultimate Skillet yesterday and smothered it in Arizona Gunslinger Jalapeño Pepper Sauce and it was amazing. This morning I tried the Veggie Skillet and it's my new favorite. All the other breakfasts, burgers and lunches Etc. have looked fantastic. Good customer service as well. read more

I ate here a few days ago. I found the place to be especially clean, and the wait staff all very cheerful and quick. My biscuits and gravy with eggs were done perfectly. Sometimes sausage gravy can be a bit greasy, but theses were PERFECT. In fact, why bother make them at home, when theses are so wonderful? I'm coming back, and soon. If you'd like bland food that is overpriced, cold sausage links, and no refills on your coffee; then this is the place for you! The skillet breakfast had no taste to it. And when I say no taste, I mean by the time i finished they needed to replace the hot sauce, the salt and the pepper as I had to use every last ounce to get some sort of semblance of flavor to my meal. Sausage links? Lets just say that apparently someone a few hours earlier did not eat all of theirs and we were the lucky winners of that side dish. Overpriced? Not only overpriced for the portion size and lack of flavor, but I'm pretty sure they need new calculators. After receiving our bill, I added it up not once, not twice, but because I thought I was losing my mind-three times! The total was $6.44 more than my calculations. Maybe to pad her tip? Who knows the reasoning, but if a tip is what she was after, possibly one refill of my coffee could've helped that. I will not grace this place with my presence in the future. read more

Went here for breakfast. Wanted french toast. It came with bacon or sausage and one egg. I asked if they could substitute hashbrowns for the meat? Her answer was a flat "No, but I can order them on the side and pay extra." As a side meat is $3.59 and hashbrowns are $2.39...I guess customer service is not their top priority!!! We googled a local cafe and this place popped up which lead us to come in. Coming in with a family of ten, had a rough day, and the restaurant experience was phenomenal, it turned our morning around. Everything from our first step in the door to leaving, was the best service. I love small cafes and this was by far one, if not the best! Finally found amazing food, great feel, and wonderful prices in one place!! The Florence Cafe is literally the BEST cafe in the East valley!! The aura is very comfortable, the food is AMAZING, the food is good old fashioned home cooked bliss, the portions are huge, the prices are very affordable, and their people are friendly, fast, and just plain awesome!! Took some friends to breakfast this morning the food was less than desirable, the pancakes were for a juvenile about 3" around it looks like a childs plate and were hard as a rock. I decided to try some where else for breakfast besides Berger King and after I was done I had wished I had gone there. I ordered a two egg breakfast side of pancakes. Way understaffed. Took 33 minutes to get our order taken. Never got a refill on coffee. Food was cold when it arrived which was good since it was burnt. We passed through Florence and stayed one night. There are very limited restaurant choices in town, but we were pleased with out breakfast experience here. Cute restaurant, clean (even the high chair!), with reasonable prices. Waffles, eggs, and biscuits and gravy were all basic but good. Staff was friendly and it was not overly busy on a Sunday at 8am.
