I came here recently with some friends to check out the new Sisters Thai restaurant. The design is super cute and their usual stuff was pretty good. My partner got a steak dish we haven't seen in their other locations called the crying tiger. It came out almost well done but the flavor was good. I also got a mango sticky rice for dessert and they used a Mexican mango and it didn't taste the same. I wish they told us this before we ordered it. They were also out of ingredients for the drink we wanted. I would go back here if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way since they have other locations as well. read more

I came here for a friend's birthday after seeing all of the TikTok's posting about the opening. This location is across the street from Starr Hill Brewpub and Capital One Hall. The inside is beautiful, definitely a great place to get some good Instagram pictures. I got the Thai tea to drink which I really enjoyed, I would definitely get one to go one day. The food was okay, not amazing. We started with some of the sisters dumplings, the only flavor I could taste was the shrimp. I like shrimp but it was a bit too shrimpy for me. For my entree, I got the cashew nut. I wish the sauce was creamier and had more of a cashew flavor. For dessert I had the caramel brownie which was pretty good. The entree and dessert seemed a bit overpriced for how much we got. The service was also very slow. There was a lot of waiting to order our different courses. We had a 7pm reservation and didn't end up being finished until 10:30. This spot is new, so I'm not opposed to trying it again, but it didn't live up to the TikToks I saw of it. read more

Sisters Thai in Tysons completely blew me away. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but walking in felt like stepping into a whimsical French café that just happens to serve absolutely phenomenal Thai food. I ordered the pork belly dish, and wow. If licking the plate was socially acceptable, I absolutely would have. The pork was the perfect mix of crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside, with a sweet, salty, tangy sauce that was beautifully balanced. Pure magic. The cocktails were just as impressive. Creative, well-crafted, and seriously delicious. We went before a show for dinner, and we loved it so much that we came back after the show just for drinks. The drinks were just as amazing the second time, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. They were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If I'm ever in Tysons again, Sisters Thai will be my first stop. No question. read more

Went there for lunch with friends. There were 5 of us. Lovely atmosphere, nice cocktails. The appetizers were average. We got the sea bass, pad see ew beef, and pork belly with Chinese broccoli. The sea bass was bland and definitely needed the sauce and fried onions it came with. The pork belly was on the other end of the spectrum and salty. Pad see ew was just pad see ew. Mango sticky rice was ok, the mango was not ripe. For the prices we paid, though it looked pretty, it could have tasted better. What made them lose a a star was the fact that they did not have written on the menus nor did they verbally tell us that an automatic 20% gratuity was charged because we were a party of 5. It appeared on the final check as a customer service charge automatically added in and was included in what appeared as the final total. Underneath the signature they had the the tip % chart with the tip amount calculated for the the total that included the "customer service" charge. Anyone looking at the receipt quickly would check the tip box and then sign, which we did. I have paid 40+%tips on my restaurant checks for superb service and food, today's meal was neither 20% tip would have been fine. After seeing the "customer service" charge, I called and spoke with the manager who said she would refund the extra charge so I am waiting to see it reflected on my online statement. They are aiming for a trendy high-end dining experience but this move on the check was not classy at all. read more

Beautiful restaurant, delicious cocktails and great staff and service. We were a group of mixed vegetarians and non Veg eaters. Surprisingly many items that I'm used to being able to get veg are not at this restaurant. Just fyi for vegetarians, we were told None of curries or papaya salad can be made without fish sauce in addition to a few other things. All veg and non veg are fried in same fryer. I appreciated being made aware of these things.But our choices became limited from the usual Thai experience. Nonetheless, many dishes were lovely yet none were really that hot, warm at most. This was such a cute spot for high tea! They had a great menu and selection and the tea paired well together. My favorite was this delicious corn soup and the presentation of everything was beautiful. The ambience is so cute and would be a great place for a girls day out! If you are looking for ambience, this is your destination. The atmosphere is like you've been transplanted to the set of some place Casablanca film era. The food matches the ambience and the staff are stepping over themselves to make the experience wonderful. Do yourself a favor and try the massaman curry or the branzino. Congratulations to Sister Thai for opening another beautiful restaurant! The interior is much larger than the other locations and has the similar vibes with the beautiful flowers and library feel... it's gorgeous inside. You can park in the retail parking lot for up to 2 hours free. This week is soft opening so they were serving a fixe price menu for $37.. I'm sure they will have a regular menu once they're officially open! They also have a full bar so you can order cocktails and mocktails. You will be able to make reservations on open table once it's available. We started off with the larb gai chicken, crispy spring rolls, and steamed dumplings.. all were very good. For mains, we got crispy duck kaprow (one of my favorites!), shrimp pad thai, and green curry with crispy chicken. The shrimp pad Thai had large butterfly shrimp and cooked tender and not overcooked. The crispy duck is my go to dish and the green curry was also great! The chicken is like donkatsu and in a light curry sauce with vegetables and side of rice. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice and gelato. The mango sticky rice was okay but maybe because we were so full we couldn't enjoy it. The espresso and orange blossom gelato were refreshing... loved the flavor of the orange blossom. There is also a cafe in the back similar to Magnolias so you can come here for coffee, tea, desserts. What a treat! I thoroughly enjoyed myself from start to end at Sisters Thai. The food was impeccable and totally worth it. I ordered the Thai Tea Cocktail, Coconut and Chicken Soup, Crispy Duck Ka Prow, and the Earl Grey Gelato. The cocktails have a ton of detail and my bartender, Athas, was super friendly! As soon as I heard about this location opening, I was excited to try the restaurant. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I'll be coming back. While the staff were nice and the decor was cute, the food itself just wasn't that good. I was not the only one in my party of five that found the dishes on the blander side lacking spice. Additionally, the serving sizes were particularly small for $20 dishes causing both my friends and I to still be hungry after our noodle dishes arrived. Our group was also slightly surprised to see a 20% service fee added outside of tipping considering the relatively subpar service. read more

Food was interesting and delicious but the service and atmosphere left much to be desired. The cafe was small, crowded, and so noisy that it was difficult to hear anything that was said by the server or my guest. The server constantly rushed back and forth with tea and food to other tables, racing first next to one side of our table and then back by the other side. This created a hectic and disruptive environment during what should have been an enjoyable and leisurely experience. The server offered us water and when I requested regular water, meaning tap water, she stated that she only had bottled water or sparkling water. When I requested regular water again, she brought out a bottle of water in an already opened bottle that tasted like tap water. Imagine my surprise when we received a bill for this costing eight dollars. Each guest may choose only one type of tea. While the black tea I chose was good, it would have been nice to have the option of trying other teas. The highlight of the afternoon tea was the savory bites and sweet confections. If the setting and server were different, this would have been a 4-star experience. read more

Sunday - lunch - party of 4 review Ambiance - The ambiance is what drew us to this location. The restaurant and cafe are beautifully decorated and I hoped my party would enjoy their time here. SERVICE- Terrible. ISSUES with my child's meal I ordered for my 8 year old a plain Wagyu hamburger - medium well. When ordered, I stated- just a burger, bun, and fries - nothing else. No sauces, tomatoes, not even ketchup. The server repeated this order back to me. In our party of 4, the kitchen brought out the adult meals first, then after another 7 or so minutes, the third meal (chicken and waffles) came out... There was no mention of where our burger was, and I just asked the food runner - if the burger is delayed, can you please send out the fries? The food runner said okay - but no follow up. 15 minutes after 3 out of 4 of us have our food, our server comes by and says-- - "The kitchen finished the burger, and are making the fries now." - Perhaps the food runner forgot my request 10 minutes ago to bring out the french fries so I said nothing. It was ODD we would be waiting on fries, but I did not want to complain. - 20 minutes later, the server brought my 8 year old her food. We immediately noticed, there was something white and looked as if cheese had been scrapped off her hamburger. I physically got up to show the server - before she walked off. When I showed the server, she shrugged said - that's just butter. They butter the bread. There was globs of butter on both buns. (Remember, I had ordered a PLAIN burger and been explicit.) - Not wanting to complain, I responded with- okay, we will see how it goes. The server offered nothing of assistance, it's clear she doesn't care if a child likes her food, and I used one of the cloth napkins to wipe off the butter. My child took a 'no thank you bite' but she would not eat her meal. During the 20 minute wait for my 8 year old's food, the rest of us had waited to eat our meals and our food was cold. The server saw our untouched food while waiting, made no mention, and when I pointed out my daughter's meal was not plain - responded with her indifference. The manager stopped by our table and asked if we needed anything Not wanting to complain, I said nothing. - The manager noticed my child was not eating her meal. The server returned and said- "MY manager noticed she (points to my child) does not like her food and wanted me to offer something else. My 8 year old is now turned off with the food. My daughter is happy to be out, we were with family, but even after her mommy attempted to point out to the server - her burger was not plain - my daughter saw how that went. My child shook her head no, but she as not eaten... She is not even eating the french fries. (I found this odd... were they cold, cooked with something else?) - I mentioned to the server, perhaps she could try a dessert instead? This annoyed our server, she paused and eventually said, "she can have a scoop of gelato." (A Wagyu burger is a $28 meal.) The server left to allow my daughter some time to think. Five minutes later the server returned, and I had to ask- what flavors of gelato do you have: we were told- vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. We ordered a vanilla scoop. COFFEE We ordered coffees - 3 to be specific, but were not provided with sugar. The coffees were dropped off, and about 5-7 minutes later we had to ask for sugar. Another 5 minute wait for sugar and no spoons provided. TOAST One of our orders had a side of toast. After waiting 10 minutes, we eventually asked the server for butter - another 5 minute wait for butter. DESSERTS We ordered two desserts, we ordered- - the waffles with bananas, nuttela and vanilla and chocolate gelato + When the dessert was delivered, no small plates, no spoons - both required requests with wait time to receive. - 2 scoops of gelato (passion fruit and rose) -- Additional flavors not previously offered. +Removal of empty plates: never happened. Empty coffee cups, plates with napkins... The restaurant was not super busy. There were several empty tables. Pre-busing does not appear to be a standard at this restaurant. CONCLUSION When I saw the opening of Sisters Thai in Tysons and saw how beautifully the restaurant was decorated, I was excited. The ambiance looked inviting and I wanted to take my girls to soak up the beautiful surroundings. However, the service was terrible. Perhaps, we were unlucky... just sharing our experience. read more

I just left there for high tea. The worst tea experience ever. First, we got a glass of water. Then the waitress delivered the scones about the size of a quarter with two puddings berry and peach? Not sure what that was. They were ok. But no tea as of yet. We had finished to scones before the tea arrived and we waited for it for sometime before we ate the scones with no tea to wash it down. Had to repeatedly ask for cream also. Delivered a salad with some lobster in it which had too much salad dressing, not enough veg in it and about the size of a ramekin. Then a small glass of warm asparagus soup (not pumpkin as was in the website) I liked it. We got tea in between scones and salad. The a tray of treats. Some savories were ALL fish related. No cucumber sandwiches,, not other bread or meat. Then some gelatinous but very pretty sweets stuff, all Asian inspired. Still there was not many people in there and only one waitress. We had to corral her to get to the table for more tea. We waiver her down, she ignored us. This was not British tea. Most everything had some sort of gellatious vibe and we left feeling not happy with the whole expensive experience. I have had better tea elsewhere. Skip this joint. It's pretty. Everything else? Please be wary of this restaurant if you are a person of color. My husband and I waited for 15 minutes to be seated, and were completely ignored. No one acknowledged us at all. They kept walking past us like we were invisible. We did happen to notice that we were the only people of color in the restaurant. We left, because we refuse to patronize a biased or racist establishment. Thankfully, we found a better restaurant with amazing food, and wonderful customer service at The Watermark Hotel. read more

The place is nice and all. They were kinda busy, but it took 50 mins for food to come out. When we got the food..it definitely small portion..for noodles you gotta give more..than just that especially with it being 22$ per plate. Then, dessert we didnt get anything but the menu its limited. Staff are nice but the food itself the flavor was not well mix. Don't bother ordering takeout! I live near here and have wanted to try the food, but it's hard to access for my family due to no parking. I thought take out would be a good option. I called and knew what I wanted but the woman who answered first sounded surprised I wanted to place an order and then struggled to take it. The service was outstanding, despite what other reviewers said. I started off with the calamari and one of their house brewed IPAs. The calamari was cooked perfectly not overdone and rubbery and has a unique crust which has good flavor and a little spice to it. The IPA was good and wasn't overly bitter and has a sweet after taste. The Beef Kaprow was good and wasn't blow your mouth out hot, although you can get it that way if you like, mine was a 3 on a 1-5 hotness scale what the waiter said, and I enjoyed it. It comes with sticky rice and the sauce has a slight curry flavor and good umami taste. My bill didn't have gratuity automatically added, those reviewers must have had large parties, and every restaurant does that, or the restaurant stopped doing it after the bad reviews. read more

Quite honestly, you can get much better Thai food in the McLean/Tysons/Vienna area for much less. The 4 of us agreed that the Thai servings were basically flat or too salty or not warm enough, not to mention that all servings were small. The ice cream/sorbet desserts were so tiny (thimble size) that we all had a hearty laugh with our guests who ordered them. (I hope they were a mistake!!) My lemon drop soup was extremely weak and simply a poor imitation of real lemon drop soup. Service started warm enough but soon became indifferent and spotty. (It was like our waitress didn't understand Thai food or the menu---just wanted to sell). The final bill was way overpriced. On the limited positive side, the interior decor is quite nice. This is all a shame---we love the new Capital One Drive area but won't return to Thai Sisters. BTW, I agree with the other reviews about the somewhat clueless "maitre d'" service, particularly as to their confusion and indifference on reservations and customer seating requests. read more

Very disappointing experience. We had a 5pm reservation, followed by a 6pm show of the Nutcracker across the street. We parked and had a bit of a hard time finding the actual restaurant, which is across the street from Capital One Hall but not near the grouping of other restaurants. From where we entered the compound, there was no Sisters Thai signage in view. We were checked in by the host fairly immediately (I'm going to refer to him as S#1 - we have 4 different ones we'll be encountering on this journey), and seated in their dining area, which is small but beautifully laid out, with an attached bakery/cafe. The group next to us was ordering only from the bakery, which they allowed, so a waitress was helping them (S#2). On our other side, multiple tables were being served by another member of the wait staff (S#3). I mention this because I'm still unclear on WHO our actual assigned waitress was. After being ignored for 10-12 minutes (although the restaurant was not busy at this point), I flagged down S#2 as she assisted the table next to ours for the 3rd or 4th time (she was running back and forth from the bakery checking on items for them) and asked if we could place our order, and she said she could take it (as though it maybe wasn't her assigned table??). We ordered 2 Thai Iced Teas, Pad See Ew, and the Chicken Festival with Lo Mein. Then we sat and waited. After another 12 minutes, I asked S#1 as he walked by if he knew who our waitress was, since we didn't even have drinks at that point. He was very apologetic, went and spoke to someone (maybe a Manager). Immediately afterwards, S#3 came running over with menus, and I told her we had already ordered but hadn't received any drinks and wanted them to be aware that we did have the show at 6. She said she'd check on our meals and left. At that point, S#1 came over with our Thai teas. A few minutes later, another member of the staff (S#4) came over and gave us our meals, which were not super hot, so I'm not certain if they had just been sitting there waiting for the waitress that we didn't seem to have. The food itself was fine. My daughter enjoyed hers (the pad see ew), more than I did mine, which is pictured. The hunks of chicken were a bit overwhelming, and had a sweet taste to them. The Thai teas tasted very watered down. At no point after we got our food did anybody check on us, offer glasses of water, etc. We then got our $67 bill (after I flagged down S#3 for it), for our two fairly run of the mill plates of food and our watered down teas. S#2 came over to get my signed receipt, and visibly reacted when she saw I had bypassed the suggested tip amounts of 18%, 20%, and 30%, and left a 10% tip. I honestly can't remember the last time I left that small of a tip at a restaurant - even if the overall experience isn't great, I feel as though I can at least identify who waited on us and that person is typically at least somewhat apologetic, overworked, etc. If I were only tipping the host/S#1, I would have left 20%, but S#2 and S#3 had zero interest in doing any more for us than they were absolutely required to. It's a shame because I had really been looking forward to this experience, having heard so much about ST. read more

While the drinks and the ambiance are great, the food was just horrible. It would be a cool place to grab a drink and a couple app and hang out. Definitely not a good sit down place. First of all, many things we wanted to order were out of stock: chicken satay, bikini shrimp, crab cake, and lamb chop. Secondly, the quality of food were horrendous - the salmon my friend got was harder than cardboard. Lastly, the price was way too high for the type of food. Also, the parking situation is not the most convenient. Maybe it's just a cold day that we went on....so, in summary, yes for drinks. Absolutely no for food (especially for a family). read more
