We have been wanting to get new floors for our kitchen for a long time, but were told by a couple of contractors that it was a huge job, time-consuming and also expensive, especially due to the fact that there were many layers of floor in our kitchen (with asbestos) and they'd have to be removed before adding new flooring. So we had postponed the project for almost a decade. We were going to be out of town for about 10 days, and we assumed this would be enough time to get it done. The whole process was very quick and efficient 2 weeks before leaving. And the price was a lot less than we expected. The installation took 2 days! Had we known, we would have done this 10 years ago. I initially emailed a number of Hunter Douglas suppliers in the area to help with some blinds I wanted to fix. The Floortex team, particularly Mechele, was incredibly responsive and helpful. I initially contacted Floortex Design on Hartz in Danville to because they are a Hunter-Douglas dealer. One of our blinds failed and I wanted to see if it could be repaired and at what cost. I spoke with Mechele and she asked that I bring the blind to their store. She sent the blind out for repair. I had the blind back (repaired) within a month at a cost of 90$. Another one of our H-D blinds had failed a few months before and I used a different local dealer that told me that it was too old to be repaired and and a new blind would be $600. I foolishly paid the money. We had been considering having our hardwood floors refinished and having new carpet installed. I was so pleased with the customer service I received that decided to ask Mechele about those items. I recently completed a home remodel and needed a *lot* of carpet. Boy, am I glad that I worked with Jeff. Jeff is the consummate flooring expert: from the manufacturing/hand-crafting process to the specific recommendations for what will exceed a homeowner's expectations, Jeff knows it all. He takes extraordinary pride in his work and it shows in everything he does. His standards are extremely high: he takes meticulous care to ensure that measurements are not off by so much as a centimeter. No matter how many times one comes back to look at flooring samples (and I did that -- a lot!), Jeff is always patient, ready to answer questions, and has a joke to make you laugh. Above all else though, what makes Jeff stand out is the value he places on the relationships he builds with his customers. He goes above and beyond, because that's who he is. When we had a bit of a vacuum fiasco on our last installation day, Jeff offered to drive a vacuum over to my house so the installers could be sure to get the entire downstairs -- on which they had worked all day -- back into pristine condition. I didn't want to make such an imposition on Jeff, so I politely told him that it was ok; he didn't have to do that. We would figure something out (I had no idea what, but . . . ). A half hour later, Jeff was on our doorstep, vacuum in hand, and I was never so happy to see someone with a functioning vacuum in my life! His thoughtful gesture nearly brought me to tears. We were a little concerned about a couple of the other reviews here. We gave them a shot anyway and everything turned out great. We got a better price than we could have gotten elsewhere, the installation was perfect and we had no issue with the owner. Unfortunately, our very expensive front door was scratched as the carpet was brought in. We brought it to Paul's attention and he immediately apologized and hired a professional repair person to fix the problem immediately. We also had a small bit of confusion about the padding for a strip where a closet door was removed. Again, Paul sent his guys back out immediately and corrected the problem. I honestly couldn't ask for anything more. I think it's rare to find a vendor who stands behind their product and takes responsibility for their actions without balking or deflecting. I'm very happy with the service and product received from Abbey and will give them all of my flooring business in the future. read more

Pat at Floortex Design was very helpful in coordinating our new hardwood floor in an upstairs hallway with the rest of our home. She showed up on on time for our appointment with hardwood floor samples and ordered the material in a timely manner. Pat gave a realistic delivery date of 5 weeks and in spite of all the delays of getting raw materials due to Covid, ours came in a week early. On the day if the install she showed up at 8 am with her crew and walked them through the job. Unfortunately, by the end of the day I received a phone call from her to inform me that she had ordered too little wood. She took completely responsibility ( such a rare thing these days) and told me she would order the wood that she was short at no charge to us. To my surprise, when the guys cleaned up the job, their was literally once piece of wood short! It did not affect our life in any way! Bottom line is that we received the additional case of wood and literally used once piece. I couldn't be happier with our floor or the excellent customer service. Thank you, Pat! The Danville Floortex Design First Choice Abbey will go above and beyond to satisfy the customer. My Mom and I met with Kathy in the office to choose carpet for two bedrooms. They're contemporary, knowledgeable and honest about the delivery and installation schedules. She communicated with us every step of the way. The installers were on time, extremely polite and fast. This office and staff makes it an enjoyable experience with a family-like atmosphere. We had put a down payment with a well known commercial carpet dealer with stock on hand and a shorter install delay, but it would have been more expensive and we felt treated more like a job number instead of people. We were as pleased this second time, if not more, as the new shades were "blackout's" and have already saved us from the heat! Installation was fabulous thanks to Bud, as he had to work around our existing valances, moved them, and reinstalled them to fit around our new slider shade. First time I ever had to replace carpet and had no clue where to start. Dan walked me thru the process and help me pick out the perfect carpet. He also noticed at my condo the last set of carpet was done wrong on the stairs. Showed us the different between the types of steps. the previous carpet people took shortcuts and didn't do the proper Hollywood stairs. Needless to say it looks 100 time better then done properly. I highly recommend Abbey Carpet/Danville Hardwood to anyone who wants to have quality flooring in their home without a hassle. We do alot of research before we buy and found these are companies that have earned our trust. They have a great selection and Val is very knowledgeable about all types of flooring. No pressure sales and the prices listed are for everything including tax.... no extras for moving furniture, pads, tearout, hauling away old carpeting, etc. Carpet and prepainted baseboards were ordered and installed within three weeks. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical when they told me that they could carpet my 2500 sq. ft. home upstairs and down and install all new baseboards in two days, but they did. There were two crews here - one doing the baseboards and the other carpeting and they were fantastic. They are experienced and it shows. The one small problem I had (a broken mirror) was resolved by Paul without a problem. I have also had hardwood in a kitchen and bathroom installed previously by Danville Hardwood and am extremely pleased with Dan and his workmanship as well. If I had known that it would have been this hassle free, I would have redone the carpet long ago. P.S. If you are going through the trouble of having carpet installed, it is not that much more to do the baseboards at the same time. It makes a huge difference! read more

These people take care of business! I bought some expensive flooring and they got back to me within 3 hours or less everytime I had a question. They were extremely helpful many many times and went beyond what you would expect. Even thought I changed my mind a few times the original price they had quoted me stayed the same (unlike some other businesses). I worked with Val but all the others were equally as good. They were reasonably priced (I had checked all over the Bay Area). This is the kind of service you used to get but rarely do anymore. My floor looks Great and I'm a very happy camper! read more

This is one of the worst companies we have worked with, and rather than make the mistakes right, the owner just argued and dismissed our concerns. First, the carpet, linoleum, and laminate were installed poorly. There were a lot of mistakes made during installation (3 different installers sent by Abbey). There were gaps between the carpet and the walls, so we had to hire someone to restretch the carpet. The stair pieces were not cut correctly, so there are some gaps that are not reparable and wrinkles along the face of the stairs. There was a wrinkle in the carpet where it met the closet door rail. They theoretically installed their best pad, but it seemed really cheap and thin to us, and we could feel the floor boards under the carpet and pad. The laminate was not cut correctly so we had to replace the boards that attach to the wall. The linoleum installer did such a poor job putting a new baseboard above the linoleum that our contractor came in and immediately ripped it out, thinking that the new baseboard was never installed. It was wavey and looked terrible. The owner would not cover these expenses. read more
