In dealing with Paces Ferry Builders over the past few years, it has become apparent that Guy…read moreCherwonuk is not only an inadequate builder, he is also a crook. He comes across as a nice person, but he only does what is best for him and he will not take responsibility for his construction mistakes. He will consistently blame others and will fabricate reasons to avoid paying his bills. Many clients have questioned his ability to deliver a quality product and have either proceeded with legal action or completely walked away from their project. The overall construction is often to a lower standard than clients were promised and there are instances where there is the potential for future issues to develop as a result of structural and grading inaccuracies. In this market, clients should expect a relatively high level of craftsmanship and should not get intimidated when corrections need to be made. Unfortunately, Guy gets confrontational, threatening and there is no accountability on his part. And, as a general observation, it is very difficult to get him or his team to return your messages, especially when they are at fault. In my opinion, working with Guy will not be a good experience and I would not recommend Paces Ferry Builders to anyone. There are many properties in the area that are worth more than the headache you will go through dealing with someone who shouldn't be in the industry.

I found this company through Instagram and contacted them after seeing what looked like good work. Hector came to my home and said that while he handles the contracts, his very experienced father would be doing the actual flooring. That gave me confidence to hire them. However, on the day of the job, only three workers showed up -- and his father never came. When I asked where he was, Hector said he would be coming "soon," but he never showed up at all. The worst part was discovering, after the crew had left, that a special green pot -- which my sister and I had painted together 15 years ago -- had been broken and hidden in a corner of my garage. They turned the broken side around so I wouldn't notice right away. When I checked further, I also found a dent on the wall inside my house. They never told me about either. I texted Hector immediately. Instead of apologizing, he bluntly asked how much it would cost -- no empathy, no responsibility. Only after I pointed it out did he say "sorry" and asked for the amount again. I told him $100 for the sentimental pot and the wall repair. I sent him my Zelle info, but till now, no money and no communication. This company has no professionalism, no transparency, and absolutely no respect for your home or your emotions. They damaged my property, tried to hide it, and then ignored me. Please do not go by their Instagram reviews or flashy reels. My experience felt like a scam. Be very careful before trusting Hector or this company.

We paid $10,000 for our crawlspace to be encapsulated in 2023. I would think the key aspect of…read morekeeping the crawlspace dry is the dehumidifier. The one this company installed in 2023 quit working in 2024 after the one year warranty expired and I had to pay $1,000 to have another one installed. March 2025 the dehumidifier quit again. I called and they sent a technician out here and he said the company no longer uses those dehumidifiers. He inferred that they are of substandard quality and if I purchased another it would be quite expensive. He checked the dehumidifier and said my electrical outlet had switched it off. So, I paid an electrician to replace the outlet with one that doesn't automatically switch off. The dehumidifier continued to quit working. So, I asked an HVAC company to come and check it out. He said the dehumidifier is fills with water and cuts off because it isn't draining properly. He emptied it out and said it hadn't been correctly installed. He said it needed a condensation pump and the tubing needed to be replaced. I tried to reach someone at Crawlspaces and More and for weeks never received a return call. I finally received an email from Jim and he said he would come out and make sure the dehumidifier was on and charge me $200. I told them to forget it. I called a reputable company and they installed a very nice dehumidifier and replaced the door to my crawlspace. Ours was wood and rotted because it was decades old. They said Crawlspaces and More should have replaced it to thoroughly encapsulate the crawlspace. The new company installed a custom fit door that is air tight and sealed. I would not recommend Crawlspaces and More.

People need to stop taking on more work than they can handle. There's no excuse to keep making commitments with customers, breaking them, and continuing on in silence after you fail to keep your word. Companies like this will slow your project down, but always send your invoice right on time and have the nerve to threaten you with a late fee as well as interest and legal fees if you don't pay them when they want to be paid. Time is money for the customers too, but they have no concession for you when they drop the ball and that's a shame.
