We hired Flooring Innovations to install about 600sf or carpet, including a stairwell. This included removal of the old carpet and padding, and installation of new carpet tacks, padding, and carpet. Mike measured the space, asking all the questions we would never have thought to ask, and delivered his estimate came quickly. The day of installation, Mario and Angel arrived first thing in the morning, and were efficient, clean, and courteous throughout, and pointed out any concerns they might have - which I really appreciated. (For example, the old carpet was taller than the new... so the wall paint may not reach all the way down to the new carpet.) All furniture was moved and replaced in exactly the same spots, and they picked up all scraps on their way out. A job that was supposed to take 1 1/2 days was done in barely one, it looks terrific, and I love the new carpet. In short: The selection of styles was terrific, the estimate was reasonable, and the service was excellent. We'll be back when it's time to deal with the master bath flooring. read more

DO NOT buy from this business! I purchased wood floors and carpeting 4 years ago. My salesman at the time was Deno. He informed us that our carpet came with a LIFETIME warranty and if our carpet ever needed to be stretched or repaired, he was our guy for life! Well...he left the company (although they know who he is) and they are refusing to uphold their OWN warranty that is a glossy paper that CLEARLY states lifetime...they refused to stretch our carpet (which is wrinkled everywhere-the only carpet I've EVER had that has done this, btw) and when we requested to speak to a manager or the owner to discuss...no one would return our call except for the salesman who answers the phone (Dawson)...Why is management refusing to speak to a customer who spent 10k with them? Despicable and cowardly company! We had heard from our realtor and others not to buy from them and did anyway (as we fell in love with our wood floors) now we know why! Deceptive business practices sums it up in my experience. I was shopping for carpeting for 2 rooms in my home. They seemed to have a more competitive price than the store I chose. Since their product was offered at a cheaper price I agreed to have them come out and take measurements for a fee of $75. I figured I was saving at least that much. Once I received their quote, it was $700 more than Carpet Empire. Little did I know, nor was it shared, and the sales person knew I was concerned with price, thy failed to mention their hidden charges. Carpet Empire price per yard included everything, install and deliver. Flooring Innovations was a-la-carte pricing. They added on the cost they never shared; Tack Strip @$75, Floor Prep (removing old carpet) $225, Carpet Ramping $18, Freight Charges $235, yes they charged me to deliver their product and Furniture Removal $219. I phoned the sales person, Mr. Kiser, and he could have cared less. I should have canceled the charge with my credit card company, but I did authorize the charge and that would have been dishonest, unlike their practices. Think twice before using this company and run, I mean run to Carpet Empire, you will not be disappointed. The sales staff was very knowledgeable. They let me guide them to my vision, and they filled in the blanks with recommendations and considerations where I wasn't quite sure. They were very professional and I was comfortable moving forward with my decision. The gentleman that visited my place, to get measurements, prior to the install, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and represented the company well. His demeanor and service made me feel that I could expect the installation crew to be as professional and respectful with my home. My purchase had a pattern that needed to be lined up properly or it just would not work, and I thought it might be easy to mess up. When the installers showed up they explained that they were aware of the details of the job and showed me the attention to detail they would have working with the patterns and the overall install. Following that, I watched the way they moved a bit of furniture out of the way and removed the existing materials. The carefulness they had avoiding handrails, door jambs, and baseboards allowed me to relax in confidence while they did their thing; I knew it would be handled properly. They were quick, efficient, and clean. I love my purchase. I'm very happy! "Real Talk": Prior to my purchase, I did note previous reviews on here. I looked at the good and the bad. My opinion of virtually all of the negative reviews for this company is that the reviews reflect more of the customers attitude in business (and in life!) than this company, its employees, and its product. As a business owner and a manager of a service company, I know some customers deserve to be fired, but (in the name of capitalism?) we usually choose to turn the proverbial cheek and attempt to complete business with these people, sometimes resulting in a lose-lose scenario. Many of you would agree that the demographics of the area result in a pretentious and finicky bunch. I've noticed that it's almost a sport for some of these people to be unsatisfied with anything up to perfection. "Life is so hard!". Anyway, I challenge you to go through the reviews and imagine the people writing them; I think that will provide the proper objective view. My experience here was very good. And that's not easy to find these days. Had a floor redone from pipe leak damage and 4 wall areas tiled up new. Had no real issues, all requests handled. Helpful, professional all around. Results were excellent. As long as you have a little time and a reasonable budget I'd definitely recommend a serious look. read more

Headed back to Flooring Innovations today to start a second project with them...When it comes to doing household renovations things can cause a lot of anxiety...the team at Flooring Innovations really got things done in a timely manner...their estimate was a few hundred dollars more than some of the other estimates I got for the same project of ripping out carpet on our two staircases and second floor hallway and office loft but I went with them because they were the most organized and straight forward...Freddie helped us out with ideas for the flooring we picked out and love...Michael called when he said he would to come by and do the estimate and measurements...our two installers were polite, professional true craftsman that did a great install and finished a day early AND completely left our front porch and walkway and indoor tile clean as if there had been no construction in the house...spend a few extra bucks and go with the pros read more

Although these folks did a fine job of installing carpet in our small tv room, 15'x15', their charges for installation were outrageous. We are still not over it, a month later, that we paid $350 for the carpet itself and, somehow, $1,150 for installation. Then, when we asked to have the carpet remnant bound, they wanted another $150 - a service I have paid $25 for at other flooring companies. Be careful if you go to Flooring innovations, these guys are like con artists. read more

last week, we had hardwood flooring installed in a small den in our home. The three man crew from Flooring Innovations arrived on time and were highly prepared to begin removing the old adhesive. They took additional measures to protect our walls while the grinding was taking place. Additionally, the crew painted out quarter inch round to match our baseboard and touched it up after the flooring was installed. They were courteous and extremely professional for such young guys! My partner and I went in to look at flooring for our home and were finally acknowledged by this punk kid after looking around for awhile who obviously didn't know what he was doing. It also seemed like we were wasting his time asking him questions. Needless to say we left. Prices are a little outrageous too! Anytime we see their commercials on TV I have to keep my partner from throwing things at it. I'm not prone to writing reviews, but they deserve accolades. I purchased bamboo flooring for three rooms in my house 22 months ago. They did an excellent job installing the floors. Unfortunately the floor in my master bedroom started to buckle a few months ago. They came out and determined the material was defective: the bamboo material developed mold in the middle of this batch. I called and they were so helpful in the entire process. A representative for the manufacturer came out and determined it was defective product and agreed to replace it at no additional cost. Flooring Innovations sent out new material and installed a new floor this week. The men did excellent workmanship and I am completely satisfied. Inconvenienced from this "act of god" but very impressed with the ease with which Flooring Innovations handled this professionally. Thank you guys! read more

I've been a customer of FI almost 11 years. Used them for all of my flooring for several condos here in the desert. They were my first choice for a small bathroom flooring re-do. Something is terribly wrong. I called to schedule a measurement and Sergio showed up the very next day. Totally professional and very helpful. I went into the Palm Desert store to place the order and they were unable to find any paperwork. While I was there a sales person was cleaning the counter where I was standing and asked me to step back while he cleaned the area where I was standing. He was cleaning with some sort of toxic solvent. Sort of dis-respectful don't you think? I do. Each time I visited the PD store the sales people at the sales desk were unable to find any of my paperwork. After a few visits I went in to FI to place the order and schedule the install. Once again they couldn't find Sergio's paperwork!!! After quite some time they were able to find everything and we scheduled the install for 2 September. I called tonight (1 Sep) to confirm after making a lot of effort to have everything ready for the install. They had no clue!!!! Did I say no clue? I did. The person I spoke with said he will do his best and will call me back. The night before the install? Pathetic. Did I say pathetic? I did. Very sad to see a top notch operation go down the tubes!!! Stay away. Save your money. Bad operation for sure. Nightmare!!! read more

As an update to my earlier posting, a follow-up visit to the store left me even more frustrated, especially my dealing with a guy named Blake, who laughed at me and told me I was disrupting business. However, the store manager, Craig Washington, intervened and tried to rectify the situation. He was very helpful and apologetic, and offered me some remnants. As much as I appreciate his efforts, dealing with Blake pretty much soured me on the store. read more

I later called and made a complaint and spoke with the owner Bill and David later called and apologized. It took a big man to do that and I appreciate it. With that I have changed my rating and review from 1 to 3 stars. However I still have not purchased a product with them. I may possibly in the future as I am exploring my options. With all that said David did pay extra special attention once it was brought to his attention there was a negative yelp review and with that I got phone call reminders every other day asking me to remove it. I was amazed by not only the service, but the carpet that we purchased for one fourth of the price! We had looked everywhere for carpeting for our store...everything was so out of line with our budget. But my daughter and I went into the store and dealt with Linda and William. Both amazingly patient people. Did not push us into anything. Linda & William found us a carpet that was dramatic, very modern, and high quality commercial, that others were selling for 4X the price! And, William, got us an unbelievable price! We were thinking we could only afford to do the front of our store, but with the price including installation, we were able to carpet the whole store, it was a steal! Just wow. Had water damage from the recent rains. Called these folks (which I have heard negative things about since moving to the desert in 2012...but they did the original install for the prior owner) to get an estimate for insurance. What I wanted was someone to come out and survey what they felt was needed to remedy the situation, and they wanted me to come in and arrange for a measurement and charge me to do so. I have the measurement from when the floor was installed originally. Going to have to find someone who actually cares about the consumer above the sale. read more

Really sorry to see bad reviews here. My experience couldn't have been better. After firing my first tile installer I had Flooring Innovations do all the work (3 showers, pool edge, and house floor). The biggest job was 1500 sq ft of 24 X 24 tiles, where the concrete floor varied as much as 3 inches in height. When they were done you could put a marble anywhere on the floor and it wouldn't roll. It was perfect. They also had great follow up - if I found a 1 inch shower tile slightly out of true they came back and fixed it. Of all the contractors doing work they were absolutely on top. read more

These are the reasons you SHOULD NOT use this company. (1)Flooring Innovations verbally gave me a price to redo ALL my floors then subtracted the master bedroom out of the contract and kept the price the same. (2)I ordered two different kinds of tile, one for the interior and one for the exterior. The sales guy only ordered the interior tile and told the work crew to install it on the inside AND outside of my house. (3)I was concerned about how they would fix the Slab Heave on my back patio BEFORE they tiled. I asked the sales guy 3 times about how they were going to take care of it. He evaded my question each time, but on the contract in small print it said, "NO LEVELING". Which meant they would simply lay the tile over my uneven slab joint on the patio. Why couldn't they just be HONEST and say they don't have the ability to fix Slab Heave? (4)They charged me $1.93 per square foot for tile, and when I fired them they told me they would refund me $0.79 per square foot. I'm still waiting for that check. (5)Now that things have gone so badly and they refuse to send me the final refund check, Jeff Bernstein, the VP of the company refuses to take my calls. I guess my only recourse is small claims court. (6)Their policy is to charge for the ENTIRE job before they even start. I've never contracted with a company under these circumstances, normally you pay a deposit and maybe a progress payment along the way. Final payment is normally made AFTER COMPLETION OF THE JOB. They must not have any confidence in their work to have this policy. Take a look at their reviews, I'm not the only unhappy customer. (7) THEY'RE VERY EXPENSIVE. I didn't realize they were so expensive because I thought the original price quoted was for the ENTIRE JOB. DON'T GO WITH THESE GUYS! FIND SOMEBODY ELSE! read more

We were remodeling our vacation home in the desert and went with them because we needed someone to manage the process as we live remotely. The job was a $50k job for flooring, fireplace, countertops and tiling 3.5 bathrooms. Don't use these guys - customer service is non existent (except sales guy Doug tried really hard but management over there are clueless) First the guy who was overseeing our job showed up the first day, tried to get us to pay additional cash to the subs as he didn't want us to go through the store and then showed up on the last day of the job. Never got an update from him either as to status because, well you'd have to show up to know what was going on. They appear to use subcontractors that don't work for them. The subs are awesome and do great work. I wish I could share their numbers so everyone could save money. Check there measurements carefully as I have enough material left over from my job to do half of another house - which they won't take back. So I was probably not only overcharged for material but labor as well. I've been trying to get them to come and pick up extra material and resolve the final bill but of course I keep getting shuttled around to different people. Another new guy emailed me today asking to come over on Tuesday (hey guys we don't live in the desert during the week) I do remember 2 small additional requests that should have cost $1,000 but somehow my final bill was nearly $4k higher. Don't give them your credit card - they bill and then don't follow through. I've resigned myself to them never getting this resolved. I'll be happy to post again if they ever do. Anyone need any bathroom tile and stack stone I have a bunch for sale real cheap! Hell I'll give away for free to get it out of my garage. read more
