I had carpet installed at a cost of $13,500. When my wife returned home, she saw an area of carpet that was wet and appeared to be stained. The outsourced installers said that it would not leave a mark. And, of course it was stained. How could the installers spill something on the brand new carpet? How did it get there? Nobody but the installers were in the home. And, they admitted to having been who cleaned whatever it was. Flooring Direct sent over a product for cleaning the stain. I asked the owner to replace the section of carpet where the installers spilled something. No, Navid refused. Sleazebag owner operator. Then he sends me the invoice with updated charges with a payment due date which was 5 days in the past making it seem like I am overdue even though the job was not complete yet. This owner/manager will make arrangements for the installation but he will not stand behind the damages that his installers caused. Who wants brand new carpet that have had a soda or dirt spilled on it? I don't go to a clothes store and expect to buy new underwear which comes with a skid mark... Go elsewhere or be the next victim of this shoddy business. Here is how Navid, the Owner, handled the refund due to defective service and faulty materials. No content is anything different than what was actually sent to me or from me. This unhinged communique took 1 week after the Owner, Navid, was to have mailed me a refund for defective merchandise. Me: "No check has been received yet..." Navid: "I waited to see if you would respond. Zelle would have been fast and easy. I mailed it out yesterday. I hope this does not frustrated you." Me: "Yet another passive aggressive attempt to mess things up... Hopefully you can not muster any more incompetence in this matter. It is beyond frustrating." Navid: "I actually helped you more that you can imagine. So shame your anger has caused you to see things clearly I asked a simple question. Why was it so hard to answer? Take a pill. I actually helped you more than you can imagine. It's a shame your anger has kept you from seeing things clearly. I only asked a simple question--why was it so hard to answer? Maybe you need to take a step back and calm down." Me: "Once again, just send me the funds so that I can be done dealing with you. I have more important things to tend to than being dicked around by some lowly shopkeeper." Navid: "Careful little boy. Check was mailed out. I am just getting sick of your nonsense. I am out of town. I make sure I call you personally to deal with your unjust words and personal attack once I get back. I feel so sorry for you. I am sure your childhood must have been a unpleasant one. Take a pill Me: "F**k off kindly." Navid: "Definitely. Must be a childhood issue. How bad was it??" I had to block him as he continued making personal attacks and by name calling. In Closing: Is this a person that you trust to have your email, phone number and address? Is this a business person that you can feel comfortably to provide fair, professional service? I think not! This man is unhinged. Beware. read more

Flooring Direct - Our brand new carpet installation and the stain the installers made - Flooring Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

We hired Flooring Direct to refloor our approximately 700 sqft living room with tile. The most difficult part of the job would be the curving steps into this space as you can see in the pictures. Where others said it couldn't be done or offered solutions that were not tile, Flooring Direct said they could do it. I'll admit that it was a challenge to fully conceptualize how to do it but working with Moji and our installer, Jose, I believe the results justify the effort. The old carpet quickly came out and the initial part of the tile that was straight went in in about two days. Jose spent some time cutting and grinding to get the tiles to match the curving steps but was all finished by the following Friday. Jose and his assistant, Gustavo, were both courteous & professional throughout the project as was Moji who came by often to check on the progress and to be sure we were satisfied with how it was coming together. All the steps from tile selection through scheduling, layout, designing transitions, grout selection and final cleanup, were all pleasant. Flooring Direct turned our upstairs bedrooms, hallway, and stairs (both risers and treads) from a cheaply carpeted mess to a beautiful, classical, interior finished with LVP. The difference is like night and day. They had a wide selection and the exact flooring we wanted so choosing was easy. Flooring Direct's crew, headed by Tino, carefully removed and disposed of the carpet the builders had slapped in, sanded the subfloor level, and did a meticulous, detailed, basically *perfect* job installing the flooring. Not to mention the stairs which are a real pain to LVP. They measured thrice, cut once, and even made sure the stairs looked good despite some uneven drywall in spots. The final product looks fantastic and that should be where this review ends, but I would be remiss not to address the punctuality, professionalism, and responsiveness of the flooring crew. They were here when they said they would be. They left their workspace immaculate. They worked so hard and so fast and did an install that looks great and is good to walk on, too. Tino communicated with us every step of the process- what they were doing and why, what would come next, and answered any questions we had. Finally, a note on the company itself: they were communicative, they gave us one estimated timeline and were actually able to get done well before that, and they were easy to get in touch with. We are extremely disappointed with Navid Abedian and Flooring Direct. Navid is an excellent salesman but, once he's got your money, pray it goes well because, good luck if you have to try getting any of it back! Our nightmare with Navid began on 5/29 when my wife and I stopped by Flooring Direct and showed Navid a sample of travertine stone floor tile which we had found at Floor & Décor which they did not have in stock. Navid "sold" us on something similar. We put $2,000 down as a deposit to get the order going for $1,050 sq.ft of travertine. The tile arrived towards the end of June at which time he collected the balance of $2,825. I had our contractor pick-up the tile at Flooring Direct on 6/28 and deliver it to the front yard at our home. In early July, Navid had some of his people come and remove an unknown quantity of the tile, telling me that he'd given us too much and that it was for use on another job. The tile had been delivered in hundreds of shrink-wrapped bundles and stacked in large pallet boxes. We hadn't counted the tile, assuming that we had received the 1,050 sq.ft for which we paid. Having placed our trust in the seemingly-honest Navid, we had no reason to consider otherwise. When we were getting ready to install the tile in August, we took a closer look at what we had in our driveway and got the sense that there didn't appear to be enough tile. We counted the bundles, opened one up and laid it out to measure it, did the math and calculated that we had only about half of what we paid for and needed to tile our new deck. Navid came to our house to see how much tile we had. From our driveway he texted, "U r correct. I will get you the rest. I need to fire my warehouse guy. My apologies." Once inside our house, Navid said he would get the rest of the tile ordered. I told him to hold off, that I wasn't crazy about the travertine he sold us and that I might consider doing something else. Now, I wasn't asking him to take the tile that I already had, only not to order/deliver the shortfall. Navid emailed on 9/6: "I tried very hard to return the travertine, they will not take it back. The rest of the stone should be here next week, that is an ETA. I am so sorry. Here are how the text messages transpire from there. Read them and then judge for yourself whether this is someone with whom you want to do business: 9/24: I texted "Do you want to issue a credit back to my Visa or cut me a check? Second, would you be interested in backing back the tile that's here? (I'll discount it). Navid replied, "They will not give me a credit. They give me the tiles. I just told them to hold off for now. Let me know how much do you wanna sell them for?" I replied, "I need a credit for the tile I did not receive." 9/25: I texted, "I fully expect to receive a refund....in short order. I will sell the 576 sq.ft we paid for and have in our possession. We are not asking to return that tile even though it was never what we wanted. Please let us resolve this amicably." N: I will talk to them. I will do my best. Me: I'm sorry Navid, that is not a sufficient answer. I don't want to get into a battle here. I will if I need to, but it is so unnecessary. Please just do the right thing. N: I am doing the right thing. My job was to get you the 1,050. I don't deny that. So should I deny it, then you have every chance to do what you need to do. I ordered what you wanted. I did my best. Then things went sideways. The manufacturer will not give me a credit. They are charging me for the restocking fees and freight from Texas to phoenix. So. This is what I am dealing with. Hope you understand. I ordered what you asked for. I will let you know the amount of credit that I can do in about an hour or so. I have no desire to mistreat you. Me: I'm sure that you could sell it to another customer. I know you've sold it to others as you came and got half of what was delivered here to use on another job. Look, you've got your markup built into the price so you couldn't possibly be taking much of a loss, if any, on a restocking fee. I, on the other hand, am taking a big one on the tile I've got here. In my business, if customers want to return a product, they may do so no questions asked. It's not worth the risk of getting bad reviews or losing other sales. You know this. N: I don't appreciate the threats. I also don't respond to the threat. Again, I do my best. Mistakes happen. I can get you $1,900.00. Trust me, I am taking a hit. I did my best. Just remember. You keep changing your mind should not reflect on me. I have no intention to treat my client unjustly. I am very sorry. Me: I'm sorry but that is not acceptable. I went to the store on Speedway and Moji helped me select a few samples of flooring that I was able to take home and see how it matched the walls in different lighting. I choose my favorite. Within a few days, Nevid came and measured. We set up a date for installers. Pablo & John came to our house a few days later, and in 3 days they transformed our flooring into a thing of beauty. They look just like wood planks (LVP) Honestly, by the time they put the baseboards back on, it was even nicer that I ever imagined. I highly recommend this company. Their workmanship was impeccable and the price was $1,000 lower than a bid for the same exact materials! The sales rep that took measurements and coordinated the job was excellent. Their budget location seems to keep their overhead costs down allowing for very competitive bids. Both the storefront and the interior could use some decorative upgrades but, really, who cares about this if it can save the customer lotsa bucks? I recently had flooring purchased and installed through this company and expected a better outcome from all the positive reviews. I was initially very impressed with Moji and Navid as they seemed professional and very eager to please and meet my needs. I picked out the most perfect flooring and set up installation to begin on a Wednesday and we were both told it would be completed likely by Saturday night, but that the installer could come out Sunday morning if there were a few things to finish up. We had been looking at other stores, but no one could complete as fast as this place, so we decided to purchase from here. Well, there's a reason why... every other store was just telling the truth at how long it would take. Our floors were finished Friday evening, 5 days after initially expected. The installer Yayo was excellent throughout the entire process. I was confused to find out that he was the only person coming and it took so long because of that. He was able to find another guy to come help him on 2 of the 9 days, however time was not managed well, at no fault of his own. It's because he had to drive 45 minutes (one way) across town to go to the shop on 3-4 different occasions. He had to go pick up supplies (which there was not enough of and he had to make a second trip for that. He also had to drive the baseboards out and paint them and then return again the next day to finish and then return again once they were dried. There was no help from the store. I read other reviews about how Moji or Navid came to check on progress and see how things were going, and they did not seem to assist at all during this. It would have made more sense to allow the one man who was working on this huge project to work as much as possible and have another staff member run back and forth so many times. There were days where he was literally gone for 4-5 hours at a time when no work was being done on the actual removal and placing of floors. There were issues along the way, which i understand, but it is unprofessional to make promises that are impossible to keep and to send 1 man to lay 1000 sqft of flooring in 4-5 days. Not only was I unimpressed by the timeliness of the entire process, I was also upset about the "finished product". There is nothing that says finished product like holes in the walls from removing carpet and ripped paint and drywall that I am apparently responsible to fix since "it's a flooring company. I dont mind doing a little touch up paint, but I shouldn't have to fix 8 holes and several more drywall tears in addition after paying $8,000 to have beautiful floors installed. Yayo told me about the holes in the wall and I was aware and he said that he only does floors, which is understandable. I figured I would contact Moji again and see what can be done. Turns out all she did was call Yayo and tell him to make it better when he already told me he cannot. This was all 2 days ago and I have not heard anything since then, ironically enough the contact stopped once the full payment was received. So, my floors aren't done and the staircase, which has beautiful flooring looks horrible due to the holes and missing paint all over (see attached pictures). There are also small issues that I have noticed, including a few nails sticking out on the vertical aspect of the staircase (the rise) and loose flooring pieces upstairs where it feels like the floor is bowed and when you step on it you can bounce up and down. My realtor, who is very well-known in the area recently asked me how Flooring Direct was and if he could use them as a recommendation to his clients (he currently has 3 people looking to replace floors). I told him the truth and every issue that I had as well as sent pictures, so he will not be recommending this place to all his clients and neither will I. I will be looking for a new flooring company to replace all the flooring on the main level of my house in the winter. The previous reviews seemed so hopeful, but I am sad to say I did not have the experience that I hoped for and was expecting. read more

Love our new tile! Flooring Direct was recommended to us by a friend that used them in her Bear Canyon home. We went to the store located on Speedway. David greeted us and was most helpful but not pushy! We've been wanting to re-tile the whole house since we bought it 4yrs ago. This was going to be a BIG project! We found an awesome 20 X 20 porcelain tile. David came out within an hour to measure and give us an estimate. The great price he quoted included tear out, haul away, install on the diagonal, grout and clean up. We paid half down and the remainder due after completion. Let's do this! The men arrived the morning of the agreed upon date. They hung plastic to help keep the dust from the tear out contained. It took just over a day to remove all the old ugly tile. Good riddance! They cleaned and prepped the floor. I had asked if they could do a little design at the one kitchen entry as the living room, dining room and kitchen are all connected and open. Putting the tile in on the diagonal would not meet up correctly coming back around to the start area. Or, so I thought. They began laying it out and said they'd see if they could make a continuos run. They started in two different areas. Oh, no. My stomach was in knots. We had some errands to run so we left. When we returned they had a line of tile run from the entry, through the living room, dining room, kitchen and matching up perfectly with that in the entry. Wow! We couldn't believe it. We didn't have to break up the flow of the tile. Happy dance! After grouting everything they washed, washed and thoroughly cleaned up. What a huge difference the new tile made in the house! The flooring is lovely; however, they charged to remove existing parquet but installed on top instead creating problems with height for refrigerator and toilets. They were very slow to return to rectify. Dented the refrigerator side, failed to cut some interior doors. Worst of all was the failure to properly reset toilets leading to both leaking raw sewage under the new floor. They offered no apology or consideration. My husband has ALS and we needed to have tiling put down along with redoing our bathroom. David and his staff did an excellent job and paid attention to every detail. Pre installation floor preparation was poorly done. Owner would not return phone calls. Required several trips to store to track the owner down and insist on correcting the problem. He promised to do so after an on site visit. So far, no follow up. They make a lot of promises and don't follow up. We'll never do business there again. After months of phone calls and no response, filed a complaint with the BBB. No response from Flooring Direct. read more
