Train your staff to be more polite. Went in there to ask them about a pick up I put in the front. The guy just gave me attitude instead of helping. Told me he doesn't understand what I was saying after I showed him the receipt. Like I was being annoying. Priest and Elliot location is much more helpful. U can find all your flooring needs as well some limited decor items like sinks and bathroom vanities. If u're undecided on the perfect flooring for u, just grab as many samples as u want for $5 each and bring them home to decide! Get full money back when u return the samples. Easy peasy! Very commercial and lacks customer service. I stopped by (which I thought was..) the information desk to ask where I can find outdoor tile and backsplashes for an outdoor kitchen. The woman just pointed and said "look up, read the sign and it will tell you if its for outdoor use..." and went about her business and put her head down. Mmm K ... thanks (?)‍ I peroused each aisle 5 times and nothing was worth bringing home. I approached 2 employees on the floor waiting for them to acknowledge my presence with a "Hi, how can I help you?" Or "i'll be with you in a minute.." or "let me find someone who can help you.." He was so patient and kind working with my self and husband to choose wood look tile that we were putting throughout our whole home. After starting a claim mid April, we did not hear from our claim rep until mid June (even after several attempts to contact them). All we wanted to know is if we could tear the tile out because the original instructions we received when we filed the claim noted we should not remove the tile in case the tile needed to be inspected by a claim rep. Our claim rep couldn't even take the time to make a 5 minute call to let us know if we could remove the tile or not. Floor and decor's customer service was pretty bad regarding this matter, but in the end, they did pay our full claim so that was great. It's seems floor and decor does stand behind their products, which is good to know for any future purchases we make. The three star review is more so for their bad/very slow customer service on our claim. read more

In process of building a guest house and contractor is behind schedule. Sales associate sold me about 50% more tile than I needed based on square footage. Contractor is behind schedule because of material shortages. Just now finished and realized they had sold me way more than I needed, but was past the 90 days. Store verified it is in resellable condition, but a "third party" agency denied the return. So help me understand, I am there with the receipt, with my ID, product is in good condition and the item is still for sell in the store. Why do I need to reload in my truck and wait for a third party vendor to approve and they told me 4-6 weeks just to get an answer? read more

Long story short, I really appreciate this store making things right after initial failure to communicate. I ordered the Bowen greyge at the recommendation of my designer. It turned out beautiful and really transformed the space. I put them in the master bedroom as well and was afraid it would be too cold during the Colorado winter months but they are surprisingly pleasant. BEWARE! As I sit here writing this, I look at my unfinished laundry room - washer and dryer unhooked, sitting on old linoleum; my stove, sitting in the corner, on the cement , in my kitchen that's only partially covered with flooring... why? Because Floor & Decor, Tempe double-sold part of our flooring order and left us SHORT of our ordered - and - paid - for flooring! What should have been a great experience has been beyond frustrating. If they answered their phone at all, my husband wouldn't have had to drive down to the store every day just to see if the missing boxes were finally received from the warehouse IN CALIFORNIA! We purchased the existing boxes of flooring at the store and had to order and pay for the remaining boxes needed for our job from the warehouse. We waited for 2 weeks for the delivery of the product. Meanwhile, no one removed our purchased flooring from their showroom floor, so they sold them again to someone else! We did finally receive the missing boxes and now will have to reschedule the installation team. The best thing about the store is the selection of product, but I was stunned by this very disappointing experience. What should've been completed in a day and a half is still sitting unfinished after several weeks, with no working laundry or stove or oven. read more

I wrote initially a week or so ago about problems encountered at the Mesa, AZ store, with advertising tiles that have been discontinued AND most of all, a delivery date problem. Yesterday, I was called by a Floor & Decor person who called me to talk about my issues and help resolve any outstanding problems. I was not able to talk to her when she called. She (Terra) said she would call me back at 9am today. It is now noon. Not a word. Seems I've been this route before. Communication/customer service is NOT a forte'. Was disappointed before. We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom/shower. We went to a class to get some practice tiling and were given the best tips and advice to achieve what we want and stay within our budget. Tim McGinness gave us ideas to simplify our process to match our (lack of) skill level. He is patient and helpful and reminds us of days-gone-by, when excellent customer service was the norm! Came in today to special order a vanity and sink, sat at the special order "design" desk and no one came... asked someone nearby if they could call someone because I was interested in the vanity, she replied with an attitude and said "they are special order only" well no shit! That's why I was waiting for someone... I had to convince her to call someone over, it's rough to use your radio I guess. I have purchased tile for my master bathroom. I ordered it on line and sent someone to pick it up for me with a truck. The Floor & Decor store in Atlanta (1690 Northeast Expressway NE, Brookhaven, GA 30329) is over 30 miles one way from my home. When he arrived with 62 12x12 pieces and 2 48x48 pieces. The 2 pieces of tile where sat on a pallet not in a box, the other 62 pieces is boxes wrap in plastic. The 2 48x48 pieces were so badly chipped and scratched. the chips were there before placing them on the pallet because there was not one chipped piece in the plastic wrapping. When I called to complain about the condition of the tile, the customer service rep nor the manager (Anthony) appear to understand the total inconvenience. Their only response was that it must have been the night crew and you can come in to get a replacement in an actual box. When asked why they did not give boxed pieces, their only response was the two open pieces must have been on top of the boxes. We had to drive and exchange the tile again over 30 miles each way. I needed to match the tile in my new house and I came to Floor & Decor where it was purchased originally. I was able to hire a contractor on their website and easily arrange for installation. The contractor send me a list of materials to purchase. I walked in with my list and Dean made the process so easy for me. He loaded everything I needed on to a cart and helped me get it in my car. This daunting task of renovating my terrible bathroom with carpet to beautiful tile was unbelievably easy. Thank you Dean for being so helpful. read more

One thing I would suggest is your associates who help customers pick out glass tile, should know that any glass tile that gets cut will practice on the back side even the pieces with paint on the back. I've had 2 different tile installers struggle with glass pieces fracturing even when they used tape on the back side. See my attached photos. Very unprofessional and Horrible customer service by the Business Operations Manager Estevan Mejia. If I could give negative 10 stars I would! We went to this store to re-order more material (floor tile) to complete a job started that was started this year. We asked them to look up the tile SKU number on our floor and decor account that was ordered previously and told them we needed and additional 320 sq. Ft. They said the had it in stock and we purchased it. After the installer demoed the Kitchen, bathroom and laundry, removed all of the appliances in those rooms, and started to install the tile he noticed the material was a different color and notified us through pictures of the tile and SKU numbers to show us the difference. We contacted the store immediately and they said they gave us the next rolled SKU number, because they don't sell that tile anymore. They never told us they were selling us something different as we would not have ever purchased it because this tile was being installed in multiple rooms all downstairs that are visually open to one another and the difference would have been obvious and not appropriate. I put in the original SKU in the floor and decor website and the material popped right up still in stock in multiple locations across the country. Why the people in this store didn't see it, I don't know, because it shows up in their inventory and I found it immediately. I called customer care and they got the other store on the east coast to do a visual confirmation of the tile which was in stock. Customer Care said to contact the Mesa store manager "Tami" because we received material we did not want and the store could take care of the shipping costs. We contacted the store "Tami was not in" and spoke to night closing manager Penny Miller who said she would not take care of the shipping costs because it was not their mistake as we placed the order and refused to take responsibility that they gave us a different SKU and never told us. She said she would let Tami know of the issue when she came in the next day. I gave Penny our phone numbers and asked her to have Tami call us. She never did! The next day, Friday with no call from Tami my husband went into the store and talked to the Operations Manager Estevan Mejia. He said he would order the material from the other store. We bring back the wrong material on Saturday and Estevan received the material back into the store and when we ask for a receipt showing the return he refuses to give it to us and says he was swapping out this material for the other material so it's just an exchange. We said "No" we need the wrong material returned because the price of the other material was less so this material has to be returned at the higher price and new order needs to reflect the lower cost and we need a receipt of both transactions. Estevan refused to return material and said we placed the order so it was our fault and refused to take responsibility for what occurred. He also refused to give us pricing on the new material order. We called customer care again while in the store and they said it's company policy to take back un-damaged material for up to 90 days from date of purchase. Estevan got so angry and still refused to process the return or talk to Customer Care who was trying to do the right thing by us as the customer. He was so unprofessional he cancelled the new order coming from the other store and still refused to give us a refund or receipt of any transaction whatsoever. He walked away leaving another store manager to deal with us after we contacted customer care again. We were not leaving the store without a refund showing we returned the wrong material they sold us. Their systems are so bad in this store it took the other manager multiple phone calls to Estevan who unprofessionally left his team members to do his job another 30 minutes to finally give us a refund and receipt showing the return to the store. We contacted the other store ourselves and they discounted the tile even further since it was on clearance and we were purchasing a large volume and are shipping to us with no problems at all. In fact, the Virginia store and Customer Care were a pleasure to work with. This store took no ownership of their mistake and continuously tried to make it our fault their previous customer. When we got home we pulled our statements from both the original transaction in April and the one in December and can see how they sold us the wrong SKU. I plan to include these statements in my letter to their corporate offices. Lesson Learned never trust this store to do the right thing and you always had to double check their work! read more

We just got back from a terrible experience with an employee at the Mesa location, my husband and I were in the market to purchase some porcelain tile for our house. We were trying to match some tile already in the house. The salesman who we had to distract from leaning up against the counter and browsing on his cell phone was less than helpful. He was insulting, rude and condescending to put it nicely. I wish we had gotten his name. We told him what we were looking to see as far as the manufacturer but couldn't remember the exact color but I knew if I seen it I would recognize it. When we found it I asked my husband if he thought it would match close enough it put it in another room. The salesman said "no its not even close" very rudely. I asked might he know of another brand that might work better?Nope, was his answer. he made some rude comment about it and my husband said "never mind we will check elsewhere". So he walked away. I told the salesman I felt he was very rude in lieu of the fact we were customers. His response "oh so he can't take a joke?" I said never mind and went up front and spoke to a manager named Asael who gave me a piece of the tile to take home and said "please if you decide you would like to get this let me know and we will make it happen". He said he would let the other manager know what had happened as well. I would say the management was spot on but this particular employee needs to find a different job, he's less than professional. I have always been a big fan of Floor & Decor, and now Glade, a designer at the Mesa location, has made me an even bigger supporter of F&D. It can be overwhelming to design one single room or space, and I have an entire home to renovate. Glade has been in design for 30 years and has a natural flair for color (that I don't have). Also, he knows what's "in style" and what's gone out of style. I so much appreciated his sense of style and pulling multiple different surfaces together. I no longer feel overwhelmed by this project and am actually kind of excited to see his/our vision come together! The design staff is one more "value add" in buying products from F&D. This is the worst floor and decor ever. It takes over 5 attempts to call and get someone to answer the phone. It took me over an hour before I decided to just hang up and go in person. Ended up driving an hour to Mesa only to see a bunch of employees and nobody helping customers. Also saw a few on their cell phones. Such a joke. Garbage location and poorly managed. What made my disappointment easier to accept were the two employees that helped with my refund. I want to thank Stephanie, that hug really helped, and Asael for making it easier on me. My husband and I were in there tonight returning and grabbing some things we needed. When we reached the registers, our associate named Ryan (43160) did not treat us like he treated others. He began checking every bill we handed him...including a $5 bill...ridiculous! He scanned them and looked like he wanted to find a fault with the money we gave him. They were legit and very real, money we work very hard to earn. With the way he treated us we felt embarrassed and could tell he was straight up racist. I can't believe you guys hire people like that. We have spent thousands of dollars in this store and will probably not be returning. We will find somewhere else to take our business. read more

The woman working up front when I first walked in the door was unpleasant. Her Name is Miriyam. No smile what so ever. She didn't greet anyone. Very robotic and no expression the entire time we interacted with her. I was there to return something and asked if there was anyone who could help me unload something from my car. She didn't look happy to help and made me feel like I was bothering her. I thought there may be a language barrier so we spoke in spanish to each other briefly but that didn't help. Even if there was a language barrier, she could at least smile. The look on her face was like she didn't want to be there. Customer service is definitely not her strength. Worked with Charlotte last week and can't give her enough props. We were picking out a new backsplash and noticed the same tiles had 2 diff boxes. She explaimed there the manufactueres had changed. We needed 5 boxes and only 1 was avail in the new style on the shelf. She went back to the storage area and brought out 5 more boxes for us but she explained 3 were of 1 "dye lot" and 2 of another. This is not something we would have picked up on. Not wanting to risk a difference in shading, we asked for all in the same dye lot. She went on to call 2 different stores and located the ones we wanted all in the same dye lot. We got the 3 she had available at Mesa and then next day went to the Camelback location for the other 3 boxes. Now we can rest assured when they are installed they should almost certainly match as perfectly as they can. On top of all this it was just before closing this happened. Amazing customer service and so helpful. My wife and I have been remodeling our home and have purchased all of our tile from here. At times we have had to travel to different locations to get the material needed. This Mesa location is our favorite by far. The first time we came in to the store not knowing they were closing in 15 minutes. We were both exhausted from working all day. Ricky was so kind and genuine when helping us even though they were running low on staffing this day. He took the time to ensure we had everything we needed (we had a large order) and never made us feel rushed. When we left the store and drove home, my wife and I could believe how awesome it was to be helped by someone like Ricky. He put a smile on our face and made it such a pleasant experience. You can tell when someone is genuine and really is interested in helping you. Since this day we have picked up tile here at lease 10 different times. I have witnessed Ricky interact with other co-workers and customers each time. His friendly and professional demeanor is consistent and amazing! We own a small business with 13 employees and know that having employees with positive attitudes is essential. Negativity and dissention grow like toxic weeds on their own. No water or fertilizer needed. If I could steal Ricky and have him work as supervisor or head manager I would do it without hesitation!
