I recently had a bad experience at floor decor I was in the parking lot for 2 hours when I go in to check they messed up my order no communication so the lady with blonde hair gets nasty with me and literally yells at me and then turns her anger on her own staff very unprofessional. Floor and decor did us a dirty with their wood flooring. Months ago, we ordered light wood flooring and glued 2/3 of it down. But when we opened the next pallet, we quickly realized the planks didn't match, this was in January. They sent us a whole new pallet but, once again, they contained the wrong color. We were again told the right color was on the way, but, after another week, realized none had been sent. They said there are 200 pallets of this flooring in the warehouse, but, after weeks of asking, they have not been able to locate the correct batch. We've been in conversation with costumer care for 2 weeks now, and have been told multiple times our case is being "escalated". But we still don't have a solution. Their last instructions have been to send samples of our wood floor to China so the manufacturer can check it out. We're ready to move in this week, but nothing has been solved. UNTRUSTWORTHY. Sorry to add to the growing number of complaints about this awful store but we're hoping to save others some headaches. Prices and selection at Floor & Decor are irresistible but not when you consider hidden policies and bad service. We had two bad experiences in less than a month. First issue: We spotted a tile that had been marked down half from what we paid a few days before. When we showed our receipt to recoup the difference the clerk told us we were out of luck, started lecturing, and eventually told us we could bring the tile back, return it, and then purchase it again to get back the savings (translation - travel back home, load the stacks of tile back into the truck, travel to Floor & Decor, unload the tiles into a cart, cart the tiles back into the store, refund, purchase, and then cart the tiles back to the truck, load the tiles into the truck, travel home, unload and restack the tiles). Over $110 gone. Second issue: We tried to return 13 tile trim pieces we didn't use and were told that we couldn't get a refund because "the case was open". We'd bought the 13 remaining trim pieces in a box that was already open. Turns out that Floor & Decor had charged us for a full case and, not that it should have mattered, will not provide refunds on open cases. Tried to explain to the clerk that the box we used had been opened and that we were falsely charged for a full case (15 pieces) but she couldn't be bothered. We'd never seen an employee so disinterested in helping a customer, unapologetic, smug (we saw her do the same thing to an older fellow the previous Saturday morning). Over $40 gone. You won't find a customer service counter at Floor & Decor. In the meantime we'll continue spreading the word about Floor & Decor and have already talked one contractor out of ever using them again (he was already on the fence). When we arrived we were surprised to see how huge the store was and the vast variety of flooring they had! The showroom had been laid out nicely with lots of different ideas. Associates all around the store were happy and helpful and we were able to easily find everything we needed. The hardest part was choosing from their selection. We've come back again and again for our home projects, you just can't beat the selection, quality and pricing. We need to replace the entire second story flooring due to hail and water damage from the storms and I had no clue how to guesstimate labor and materials or even find what would work best for us. Needed matching grout for my bathroom. Went to the usual big box hardware stores, but they had a limited choice selection, not the full line. I was told to go to Floor and Decor by them, to get what I needed and I did. The young lady who helped explained the difference between sand grout and plain grout. I placed the order early am, waited for them to email me for pick up. After 5 hours of no email, I called the store but the phone just kept ringing. Finally at 5 pm I went down there only to find out their inventory was off, they had none of the tiles I ordered. No one bothered to call me to tell me that. They said more was on order but had no idea when it would be in. Had to cancel with tile setter. No idea when I can get him back because he is so busy. BUYER BEWARE It's disheartening when you save your money for nearly a year to purchase new flooring for your home at a cost of $6600 and the store lets you down. So, it starts like this, found the flooring we liked at Floor and Decor, we go to the cash register to purchase only to find out we need to order through their flooring specialist. Purpose? I do not know, to upsell, to convince you to use their installation team? not sure of intent but I was curious why I needed a flooring specialist to purchase my flooring. This process, with the product number, took nearly 30 minutes and of course I was in a hurry. Now we get on to my order, turned out they did not have enough of my chosen flooring in stock, so they need to get it from a nearby store. They tell me because it is a discontinued style that I would have to pay $300 for the shipping to my home. I thought at the time that this was WRONG and asked them why we cannot ship it to the store and my contractor will pick it up and they said no we can't do that. They wanted ME to pay for the shipping. I didn't want to pay it but we really liked the flooring. That should have been my first clue of what was to come. After paying for everything the "Flooring Specialist" tells me the order must be picked up within 7 days or it will be cancelled, mind you it's already been paid for. So now I must quickly get a hold of my contractor to see if he could pick it up before going out of town that weekend. Luckily, he said he could pick it up that very same night. So, I gave the "Flooring Specialist" his name and number and the time he would be coming by. He shows up for the pickup and they don't know who he is, they couldn't find the order under his name or mine. Thank goodness my contractor was diligent enough to call me for a picture of the receipt. On October the 11th I got a notice from the shipping company that my order was on the way. On the 17th no word thru the tracking number so I called the Albuquerque store and they said they had NO IDEA where my order was because it was coming from their Colorado store, I said I placed the order at your store and that they should know where it was. Somewhere in the conversation I said F***ng something and the woman I was speaking with chastised me for swearing (I didn't mean to swear, I was stressing a bit) and then she passed the buck and transferred me to their Colorado store. They end up telling me that it had shipped the day before on the 16th. I told them I got a notice that it had shipped on the 11th. They said no it had just shipped and to give it a couple more days for it to show up on the tracking number. Now it's Friday the 20th and still no tracking information on where my $1200 order is. Once again, I call the Albuquerque store where I purchased it and I got the same woman that had threatened to hangup on me before. I was doing my best to be as pleasant as possible asking where my flooring was. She said she remembered me from before, she asked if I had a tracking number and the number to the Colorado store. I said there was a link sent via text and that I had been transferred to the Colorado store last time so I didn't have the number, so again she says do you have the tracking and store number, I'm still looking for the numbers thinking she doesn't have it, then suddenly I realize she has the info in front of her while I'm spinning my wheels looking for probably 5 minutes cause she asking if I have the information. Now maybe it was a communication error but the whole time I was looking, she had many opportunities to say here is the tracking number and the number for the Colorado store. I felt like she was condescending and doing her absolute best to only provide the information I asked for. After I finally asked......Mother may I have the numbers please? She gave me the information so that I could spend the rest of my day looking for the order that they had placed in their store, making it my problem, when in my humble opinion since I purchased it at the Albuquerque store they should have been bending over backwards to assist their customer that just spent $6600 at their store. read more

I asked for 30 minutes at the end of the day because I almost knew what I wanted, but this guy showed me options to consider that were a lot better than what I thought I might have to settle for. Really, his knowledge of the store, the product, and his overall demeanor were just outstanding. As he walked around the store to show me the products (we're virtual) there were some people with burning questions, and he managed to take them warmly, efficiently, and didn't show their faces on my screen.
