Jackalope in Albuquerque on San Mateo Blvd was all decked out for Christmas when I shopped on November 26, 2025. This is one of my favorite places to shop for home decor. The colors are vibrant. Their products have been good quality. And they are mostly affordable. I love their metal cacti lawn ornaments, from Mexico. Pottery (10% off) and ristras (20% off) also made in Mexico. This place always has other unique gifts too... "tortilla" coasters. LED chili pepper lights. Blue Q coin purses. Plants - including the variegated string of pearls of which I may soon be convicted of botanical homicide. It's not looking good and I am incredibly sad about that. Someday I would love to have a "root coffee table" from here. I have seen them at other places, but I really like Jackalope's. read more

It was my first time at the San Mateo location. The store's selection did not disappoint at all. It far exceeded any expectation I had: so many New Mexican items/products can be found! I went in looking for 2 particular pots to put my plants in, and the selection is massive. I immediately found those beautiful planters, but then I started seeing many other items for my house. Looking for odd, eclectic or just different? Stop in here. After passing this place up for years and telling ourselves we need to stop, we finally did. It looks like a lot when driving by but the street view is only a small part. It has oversized vases, metal yard art, chimneas and wall hangings - then you go inside. It's stuffed floor to rafters in more decorative pieces, artwork, rugs and furniture. It seemed like every little nook & cranny was filled. The possibilities are limited only by your space and wallet. There was quite a bit of seasonal stuff on display to decorate your tree and interior for Christmas. Next trip will be truck & money. Do NOT GO INSIDE if you have any RESPIRATORY ISSUES. They burn strong incense in the store. I didn't get more than 20 feet in the door and began coughing. I was hoping to escape the smoke, but it is throughout the store and after 3 minutes I left with a sudden onset headache. Awful!! Too bad as is is an intriguing store. The garden shop is great for flowering annuals and perennials- healthy and well card for- grasses too, some containerized deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs, bagged soil and mulch- lots of parking, long hours, open on Sunday, staff can change sometimes, but they are always couteous.. My new go-to to include on my rounds for plants in Santa Fe. read more

Oh my gosh! This is one of the most amazing place that is everything good about New Mexico decor. I love all the colorful woven baskets, pottery, rugs, wall hangings, furniture, metal work, flowers and flower pots, and more! It is splashes of color everywhere catching your eye. I like visiting Jackalope when I'm in New Mexico. The selection of items is really fun. From ceramic pots to beads to furniture to plants, there seems to be something for everyone. The staff are always friendly and were beyond helpful with helping get my purchases down off the wall and out to my car. I'll admit I was really surprised at this location's selection of plants! We love this store for a couple of reasons... The ever changing cool worldly furniture and the garden center. First they have some really cool unique furniture pieces from all over the world. We ended up buying this 8 ft wide long hutch that was pretty huge and they had a great moving coming place it in our second level of our house. It wasn't cheap but definitely worth it. Also their garden department/nursery (jericho nursery) staff is super helpful and honest not just trying to sell u stuff but letting u know the best time to plant, etc.. We bought a few trees from them and they were just great with customer service. This is a great store fore new mexico gifts for out of town guest as well. When my parents come to town they like to check out the store for quirky finds and new Mexico crafty things. Love this store just to come in for no reason. read more

I love this place. They have amazing flowers and people truly help you out. Unlike my experience at Home Depot where the workers just talk to each other and stare at you. I had a caterpillar problem last year, and a man there helped me figure out a solution for prevention this summer. I also got a free plant with my purchase. Only thing I think is a little bit funny is the word "Home Depot" is like a no no word. Lol. I was looking for creeping Jenny's and they only had two plants available. I mentioned how I saw some at Home Depot, and the lady kind of shrugged. read more

Every year when I visit my mom here I try and make a visit here for a tablecloth or some little thing. This visit I learned that it had changed ownership. It was just so different. More furniture oriented now. Beautiful furniture though. Wow. Loved it!! I found some really nice ornaments too, love the ceramic cats, mosaic plates, etc. The tablecloths were not to be found, but were told perhaps soon. So will check back next year. In May, purchased over $200 of perennial plants with a 3 month guarantee. Most are doing well. Staff was delightfully helpful. One month later tried to return four plants (I bought 8 of the same species) and was told I had overwatered them and store had no control over that, even though I was given a "daily watering guide" upon purchase. I do wonder what response would have been if they determined I had not watered "enough." It could have cost Jackalope a few dollars to credit my $20 worth of plants. Instead they have lost my business. Buy local??? read more

This place has some really cool furniture and decorative items, that is if you're into the distressed, old world look, which I am. The only drawback is that it is very expensive for the furniture that you are getting, considering a lot of it is mass produced to look old, but it really isn't. read more

This place is like Disney Land for those that love great pots, plants and decor. My house definitely had a touch of the Jackalope since I discovered it several months back. It is a little pricey but it is good quality. The plants I got there are thriving, the colorful pots make my garden pop and the decorative pillows from India on my couch make the room look modern, welcoming and fun. I love Jackalope. Ramiro and Bryson were so helpful with our purchase yesterday. It was at least 100 degrees outside and my husband and I thought we would take a quick look at outdoor planters with no intension of making a purchase. We were in our convertible, not a good car for shopping. Bryson and Ramiro were attentive and made great suggestions. Superior customer service in the sweltering afternoon heat. I looked at my husband and said, "these two guys are so great it makes me want to buy something." We ended up purchasing two large planters. Ramiro and Bryson gladly tagged and held the planters until we could come back with our SUV. Bryson quickly loaded the car and sent us off with good wishes for our planting project. The store itself is pretty cool and has improved from what I've seen in the last couple years. The reason I only gave 2 stars is the management is absolutely hideous! I witnessed the manager lady be extremely condescending to her employees. I felt so bad for them. This has happened 3 times now in the last few months. They need to get someone who knows what they are doing and treats their employees with respect. read more
