Gf wanted to try this, the zen room was perfect for the couples float. Water was warm and floated so easily I found myself falling asleep. Just so intimate and unique and loved the room decor and the rainfall/waterfall shower. Loved the starlight on the ceiling and the low music and lights. The lounge in back was a nice touch. Worst experience. People are VERY unprofessional and the guy at the desk was rude when I inquired about the experience before I even decided to purchase anything. Kindness goes a long way in customer service, especially with first impressions / introductions. The "cold plunge" is literally lukewarm bathwater and I could see other people's body hair floating on top. I told the owner the cold plunge tub wasn't working and he said it would feel like a cold plunge after the sauna. He also told me the definition of cold plunge is "subjective" but it was objectively lukewarm bath water. read more

There is such an indescribable beauty and peace in disconnecting from the chaos of day-to-day life, from the decisions and thoughts running through your head. Often when left idle, my mind wanders to what ifs and to dos but in the float pool, my mind remained at peace the entire hour. We walked in sore from hours of walking and standing the day before and shoulders stiff from stress, we walked out feeling refreshed and renewed. I wish we lived closer -- my husband and I both agreed we would come for periodic float sessions! Before leaving, Tom allowed us to try the PEMF mat therapy and WOW! From the moment you walk in, you know this is going to be great. The lighting, sound and smell relaxes you as soon as you walk in. For first timers, Tom does a great, no pressure orientation to overcome any issues and concerns. They go the extra mile on creating a clean, relaxing and immersive experience. Float tank is the wrong term @ Float SNJ, its more of a room with a pool experience. The large private room has an amazing shower. The pool has controls for lights and sounds, to get you acclimated. I strongly suggest going right for the 90 minutes, the 60 is waaay too short to get the full effect. At the end of the session, a gentle gong slowly brings you back to earth. The resting areas have teas and water to hydrate and get situated. The Sauna, combined with a float, better than any massage, ever! Beware, if you give it a try, you will be back. read more

I eventually got to the point where I would turn off all the sound and lights and would just float there in pitch black. It was an experience that you have to experience for yourself. So, I'm going to look at this place through a slightly different lens. Everything that everyone else has said about this place so far is pretty spot on (except for curtains guy. I don't know where he thinks he was...). The owner, Tom, is who I dealt with, and he is truly an advocate and practitioner of spiritual health and growth. Float is his labor of love, and his story of leaving the financial world to build and grow his dream of helping people find inner peace and mindfulness through sensory deprivation is inspiring. He is kind and compassionate, will walk you through and questions or concerns and do everything within his power to make your experience a positive one. He hung out in the lobby with my friend and I just talking about life and his experiences for over and hour after our float. No sales pitch, no no upsell, no ulterior motives, just a genuine guy connecting with other humans. Good guy. Now, having said all that, here's the thing: I'm not really into all of that mindful meditation/spirituality stuff. If that's what you're into, I'm not going to knock it. I'll advocate for almost whatever you need to do to make your journey through this crazy world a little more tolerable. It's just not for me. I'm spite of that, there's still value in floating for me. I have a terrible back. Like, really terrible. Numerous herniated & building discs through my life. Physical therapy, chiropractic care, you name it. Floating helps my back decompress better than nearly anything else. After a float, my back and limbs feel great. I'm much more loose and flexible. Of the places I've floated, Float is by far the best. Instead of the claustrophobic tubes I've seen everywhere else, Float features 3 float rooms, each with their own theme (water world, grotto & galaxy) featuring oversized tubs filled with a ton of Epson salt to keep you naturally buoyant. I'm nearly 6'4", and I could still float nearly spread eagle. In the tank, there are light and volume controls, where you can control your own experience. Vaseline is provided to cover any open cuts you may have, as are ear plugs, although you may want to bring your own if you are particular about such things. The tank itself is sealed by a large sliding door, which again you have control of. Sometimes throughout the float the tub room can start to feel a bit warm and humid, cracking the door just a bit allievates that without breaking the sensory experience. You can float for either 60 or 90 mins. After your float is finished, the music and lights slowly start to come up, and you are welcome to get out and shower off the saltwater before changing back into your clothes. You are then invited to the "decompression room" where you'll be offered tea, water, and the opportunity to journal about your experience if you're so inclined. You are welcome to linger seemingly as long as you desire. My friend floats often. He tells me he's has visions, heard his own thoughts and made some deep realizations while experiencing sensory deprivation. Sounds cool. I've not experienced any of those things, I have no idea what color my aura is, know nothing about my chakra or attempted to quiet my inner monologue to reach a higher level on consciousness. Even still, I can't recommend Float (and hanging out with Tom!) highly enough. read more

I went on a whim. I am now addicted! Work has been so stressful lately and I find myself so drained that I can't seem to get motivated enough to do anything other than fall asleep on the couch or go to bed. I was talking to a friend and they were saying how beneficial gloating is. Ok, what do I have to lose? I signed up, showed up, got a tour. Climbed into my assigned pool and instantly felt at peace, at ease and I could feel the stress melting away. I signed up for a membership and went back the very next week. I feel asleep during my session and could hardly drive home I was so relaxed. A few benefits I experienced immediately, stress relief. Healing, I have some arthritis here and there and my joints felt amazing. The salts pull toxins from your body so you will feel this lightness when you leave. It's great for your skin and it is an incredible way to leech the work week out of your soul. I'm a fan, I'm a member and I'm bringing my man here next time so he can see how amazing this place is. I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have this place right down the road. Going in a sensory deprivation tank was on a short bucket list of more "out there" things I wanted to try, but it quickly became something I wanted to do on a regular basis. I've been here close to a half dozen times, and as long as you possess even the slightest ability to meditate, an hour float (the ideal time, in my opinion. I think 90 minutes is a bit much) is the most relaxing thing you can possibly do. Coming out, you won't worry about ANYTHING. As much as I enjoy getting a proper massage, I'd say that, if forced to choose, I prefer a float session. I've also done the sauna and, to be honest, I don't quite see the appeal (beyond longer-term health improvements). It was suggested that I periodically jump out and under ice cold water for 30 seconds, leading to an endorphin rush... It didn't work out like that for me. Standing under the cold water felt just like that, and nothing more. And it detracted from the sauna experience. But hey, that's just my opinion. The people who work here always very patient and kind and ready to help or answer any questions. They really do what they can to keep the experience from being intimidating in the slightest, which I imagine it can be for some. And the interior of the location is perfectly inviting and relaxing. If you're at all curious about a float, I can't recommend it more highly. It's not particularly cheap, but I think it's a fair price, all things considered. And you'll definitely want to do it again, afterward. read more

I have always wanted to float. I decided to surprise my boyfriend with this for his birthday. When you first walk in you can feel the vibe in this place is chill! This review is overdue, so here I am waiting for breakfast seems like a good time to play catch up! I teach yoga and have a meditation practice so floating seemed like a good thing to try. Sensory deprivation, to be devoid of sound, taste, touch, smell and sight. Floating in space almost is the idea. You book in advance and have your own private room. This is good compared to tanks I have seen that look like coffins! This is more of a spa feel. When you walk in the atmosphere is comfortable and serene where a friendly staff greets you and preps you for a tour. The rooms have different themes and are equipped with a personal shower and a pool for one. Once you go in you shower to make sure you have no products on you including make up or hair stuff. The pool is filled with one ton of Epsom salt which leaves you weightless in the water. They have a cool light inside along with soothing music which I think is great for beginners. Complete silence and quiet could feel overwhelming and scary at first until you have more trust for the process. Anyway, you have the option to turn that stuff off and on at any time. Then what? That's it. You float. Give your body the experience of complete relaxation as the water supports you. No effort required from any part of your body, and you have the ability to truly let go. Personally even with having a meditation practice it was still difficult to stay present. I got out a little early and I'm sure it takes getting used to. Once you are finished they have a room where you can sit and decompress, have tea and journal in a community book. Really liked that. I give four stars only because I didn't like the room I was in. The Galaxy room was painted black which made me a little anxious about what I couldn't see in terms of cleanliness. I FLOATED AND I WAS HAPPY! It was the most amazing therapeutic experience: At a small company in Marlton, NJ, (appropriately enough named Float) I enjoyed complete sensory deprivation. I spent an hour in a small pool with a outrageously high saline content. So that I, who have never been able to float, floated naturally. The salt enveloped and clung to my body like a body-confirming cushion. I eventually elected to turn off all sound and light... and I was transported to another plane. I have long maintained that in the silence we find God, as silence is the genesis of all. In silence we connect to the Divine. And this - this! - was one of the most remarkable paths I've ever taken to my Divine destination. My boyfriend and I went here for the sauna, cold plunge shower and a 90 minute float. We've down floats all over the country in about 10 different facilities and this was the best float spa I've ever been to. The attention to detail is quite remarkable, the ambiance is calming, unlike most float center where it can feel staunch and sterile. I thought I had been to nice, welcoming float centers in the past, but I guess I never knew a spa like this existed... this spa sets a high standard, it truly is a breath of fresh air. I did a 30 minute guided meditation for the first 1/3 of my float, with the water streaming underwater. the rest of my float I was blissed out. If I was new to floating, this would definitely be the spot to go to to get yourself acquainted, and truly if you're more experienced, you're missing out by not coming here. My first float was over 2 years ago when I was pregnant with the twins. Fast forward till now and those twins are sometimes 2-year old toddler terrors. There's something uniquely magical about getting into that deep head space of nothingness that only sensory deprivation brings. People drive from all over the area to visit this float facility for a reason. It's one of a kind. Truly. I drive more than 30 minutes when there are float facilities much closer to me because this isn't just a facility, it's an experience. Tom is a creative genius that hasn't just become a developer of space and time to heal, but a friend, a mentor, and a voice of reason to so many that walk through his doors. Staff was awesome. The facility is awesome. The experience is awesome! It was my first time trying a sensory deprivation tank and my fear was the size of the tank but these things are huge. I was so relaxed I fell asleep (which is common). While the first half of my float was spent on figuring out how to relax, once I did I was in that state of mindfullness like right before you fall to sleep. I came out feeling like nothing could change my course and whatever I wanted to achieve I could set my mind to it and will it to fruition. I am surprised by the positive reviews. Lets start with how I was greeted. Tom "the owner" was rude and insulting. I was told when I made the appointment that I could arrive early or stay late to enjoy the other amenities available. When I arrived Tom told me that I could "go get a bite" and come back when it was my appointment time. I was not permitted to use the other amenities. Ok, I left and came back for my appointment. After returning I got a good look of the places, the facility was filthy and had an odor of HS boy's locker room and medicinal marijuana. The furnishings were far from "spa" like, worn and dirty. There were multiple houseplants around the perimeter of the room, some blocking exit doors. It was a living room and not a place of business. Tom introduced himself to me as if we had never met and that he did not have my name. I was confused by his handshake. Did he not remember our encounter an hour before? Yes he did remember, because he tried to blame a "new hire" in training. 1st rule in service, you take ownership of the mistake and make the situation right. You don't throw your employees under the bus. If anything it makes me feel bad for the girl that she has a employer who would do such a thing. Let talk about the float room. horrific odor, missing tiles on the floor, slimy walls, and far from relaxing. I should have left, but didn't. I spent the next hour in the tub, cold and feeling anything but relaxed. when I was finished and walked out, I was not greeted, asked about my experience, or asking if everything was ok. no one was in the living room.
